Hopeless Tequatl kill attempts
Anet, pls nerf this boss to the ground! Make it dead simple like Shatterer! Or put the kitten thing to an instance!
OP, I don’t agree with you. Difficulty is atm in a good balance. This is meant to be a tougher fight and some people like to have a little challenge and participate in an event that is not for brain-afk skill level.
If you want to succeed more, join a guild that coordinates the kill efficiently…
My main point though is the instance alternative. I just wanted to point you to this post by Josh Foreman where it’s explained the open world nature of these events has a reason, and that reason is they ‘are trying to teach the community a new skill: self organization’.

Please do NOT nerf Tequatl. To be honest, when new patch arrived, we managed to kill Teq for like 3 times what i remember, but, it is not the game mechanic that is hard/impossible/broken/whatever, it is only failure because of “newbies” who do not want to listen orders and do not know what to do. (we managed to kill him by daily basis before patch)
I have never been in succesful 3 headed wurm attempt and i do not care, i like how it is hard, maybe one day, we will defeat all of them.
I would love to see EVOLVED Shatterer, Karka Queen and imo all other bosses , because you just port to specific location, faceroll to boss and get reward, except Tequatl and Triple Trouble. I know that before the patch it was easy, but with so many players now and boss timers, it is more easier and boring.
Do not NERF Tequatl, BOOST The Shatterer and Karka Queen!
Day number 2 on Tequatl – success yet again. I hope that on the third run I will be able to get the title, only 2 achievements left.
I’m sorry OP, but I will have to disagree with you. In fact, I am happy that there’s a boss that actually requires some kind of team work and cooperation to be taken down. Feels much better than the mindless DPS-everything-down.
I also strongly disagree with the OP. I will never forget the first time I participated in a successful Teq kill. It required coordination and teamwork, and while the tactics seemed elaborate to me at the time, that’s what made it so rewarding. It wouldn’t have been anywhere near as fun if it hadn’t been so difficult or required so much organization and thought. It really did feel like an accomplishment, and I felt like part of a community. I hadn’t had that much fun with an event in a long time.
OP, you’d be much, much better off by looking up strategies used (Dulfy has some guides). Join one of the TTS guilds (not mandatory by any means, I’m not a member either, but it does make finding a successful map easier). Come prepared to the event and above all, LISTEN to the commanders.
On AG we have a server TS and it makes the guild runs really nicely organised, had lots of fun finally being able to beat this boss
People are learning and bringing consumables, it’s pretty awesome. I’m hoping all the dragons are remade this way
There is a BROAD gulf in degree of dedication between “Stand there pressing 1” and “Have to close/leave the game, or spend non-gaming time to go to a website and study the encounter and One True Strategy in detail.”
No, there isnt. In fact, the most accurate, simple to understand, and direct to the point guide for teq (not that I’ve seen others) is written by the leaders of TTS I believe. Teq is not something you can show up to 5 minutes before he drops and expect the encounter to go smoothly. Even established groups get to teq 30-50 minutes early. The only time you can drop into the map 10-15 minutes beforehand and be properly set up is if you’ve done the fight dozens or hundreds of times before, and can communicate with something such as teamspeak or ventrilo.
