Hello once again !!
Recently I was trying to go back and see the “old” story lane until i reach the final mission . The reason of doing that ? I wanted to see something that I think a lot of people had seen through the game time. First of all, for people who having the HoT you might have completed the story lane. Also you might joined the event in Dragon’s Stand. What I wan to say is the developers for the expansion they did a whole map of one event to kill a dragon and the dragons is already dead based on the story lane. Now going back to the old story lane you can only kill Zhaitan from the dungeon, and dungeons right now are not very rewarding. I know that some people will say that your idea is **** and you have to move on with the game but I was thinking of doing a big event in Cursed Shore that we would have have to kill Zhaitan ! or if not zhaitan maybe another dragon that is placed in Cursed Shore !! I am saying that idea because i believe that the game took place only in the new maps. No i definitely don;t spend a lot of time in new maps but ine Cursed Shore or in Malchor’s Leap and i am thinking that if a new event will take place in the orr and mainly in Cursed shore would be a realy great and fun thing to do !! Write down below what you believe about my kind of idea and feel free to write yours !!

Thanks

The idea would be sound 3+ years ago. Anet will not go back and add new content based on the old story, since it is a waste of their resources, resources which are stretched as it is.

Yes Zhaitan would be have been better if it was open world based or anything beyond what was produced, but that ship has sailed now. It’s pretty much a guarantee we will never see content updates for Orr regardless of how good the idea may or may not be.

Zhaitan be ded mate, we wont ever see him around again, if at least a few centuries. The event you’re thinking of also exists in the game already. Lorewise, Tequatl the Sunless has grown in power since zhaitan’s defeat, and is the reason why the risen havent diminished in numbers or strength. It’s also why we beat them up at least 3 times a day.

Not much of a secret, in various quotes and interviews with magazines Anet themselves said they would not be revamping Zhaitan a long time ago and revamping core area was not something they wanted to do, despite realising themselves they did not get ZHaitan right.

I am in favour of the OP’s suggestion, but in light of comments made by Anet themselves on multiple occasions, I do not see this situation changing.

Even if they hadn’t have commented over the years, if LS1 is something they have been unable to fit into their schedule, logic dicates a defeated boss of past content is highly unlikely to see light of day

And yet, Tequatl. I have no idea how Teq is still around if Zhaitan is dead.

Zones are locked in time. That’s true of all zones, pretty much. Orr is still pre-Zhaitan’s death. Drytop is right when the Zephyrite’s crash.

It’s all locked in time that’s how.

But isn’t the lore behind teq’s mechanics change that teq got more powerful because he soaked up a bunch of magic after zhaitan died?
Or am I going crazy?

She.* But I’m fairly certain that was the lore behind the Tequatl Rising update.

In which case, it’s explained through lore. It’s Zhaitans’ energy still living in Tequatl.

To my knowledge, Tequatl was never explained. It was promised we would get one after S1 ended, but the “teq absorbed Zhaitans magic” theory was player created if I remember rightly.

Happy to shown wrong here, but I’m pretty sure I remember no in game explanation.

There is no in-game explanation. All we know is that there is some lore explanation for Teq’s increase in power (stated by Anet) and that the increase in power happens after the personal story (and thus after Zhaitan’s death).
