How do people sell Dungeon paths?
It depends on the path. I know, personally, several players who solo paths 3 and 4 of Arah, and some solo path 1 but then pay a few others to help with Shaggaroth, then they leave and finish the rest themselves. However, those who are selling AC are using bad “tactics” and I think definitely the dreaded “E” word.
Those who legitimately solo Arah paths are extremely great players, which is why before I buy a path, I always check to make sure Lupicus has been killed and other parts of the path are done. There are some amazing players out there.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
They do the boss in few seconds alone

I think you might be talking about Arah p2 Brie….. That I’m not sure of. I don’t generally buy that path.

ANet has finally to completely redesign the whole DUngeons so that this ridiculous selling of dungeon poaths simply finally finds an END.
Thats my opinions.
It isn’t done that they just remove one path of Twilight Arbor and exchange it with a new path.
They have to do this with ALL Paths, until all paths are so designed, that you can’t solo them.
And then Anet should implement as new Feature finally also “SOLO DUNGEONS”.
I really hope, that we will see over the coming year of 2014 more changes to the existing dungeons, especially Arah and Ascalon, the current 2 strongholds of Dungeon Path Selling that need to get removed.
Every path of Arah has many exploits that can make them much easier to solo or duo. There are also players good enough to do these path solo or duo, barring Shaggroth in p1 as Lilith mentioned. I’m sure there is a small percentage of people kicking and selling spots, but I imagine that is quite rare as there’s just no need for it and they’re much more likely to get banned for such an offense.

If one is not using exploits, why do you care that one person can solo a dungeon?
I sell arah paths with my friend frequently, but we tend to avoid doing P2 because so many people exploit it. It sucks when people merge/kick our party to destroy our instance under the assumption that we exploited when in fact, we did it legitimately. (or they do it because they don’t like sellers in general)
You typically sell them by getting to the last boss and then lowering the bosses health to like 5% and then advertising your group. To the people that join us and try to ruin our instance, you are just ignorant, and it is up to the buyer whether or not they want to spend the gold to get easy tokens. Not you.
I played GW1 for over 6 years and sold dungeon runs and my assassin every day (and so did many others). It was common practice, this is no different and it’s about time people just accepted it. Although I wish they would fix the exploits in P2 arah.
bottom line – if no one is using exploits and they can successfully solo/duo a dungeon with the intent of selling the spots…then you have no right to screw with them and if you do, I hope you get banned.

Probably because he cannot find a group for AC because there are like 8 sellers for 1 running path. So he probably prefers to blame the sellers that appear on his screen instead of the groups he expects. But finally he probably doesn’t create a group himself.
Probably also, he cannot bear the fact that people can solo a path that he cannot do with 5 people.
Something was mentioned by a dev several months ago mentioning the selling of dungeon paths via the LFG tool, and the prevention of it, but very little has been mentioned since.
As long as the individuals are not using an exploit I have no problem with them at all. They have seen a legitimate way to make money, good for them.
However I do have a problem with a game design which allows solo runs to be accomplished, solely from the perspective of myself who wants the opportunity to experience the game in its entirety, and not bought, not forgetting that these dungeons are supposed to represent the hardest the game has to offer with the exception of fractals. Trying to find a group willing to do so, in comparison to the players willing to buy a path is quite frankly depressing.

Because Dungeons, at least the current ones were NEVER to be designed for being 1 person shows for making in very quick time ridiculous amounts of profits .
Dungeons are GROUP CONTENT and the current ones should also be played like that – as Group Content.
If people just would do them for the challenge solo, that would be just fine, but those Dungeon Sellers are like a plaque, they ruin this game, they turn the intention of playing the dungeons as a group into a ridiculous question of:
“How can I make as fast as possible insane amounts of profit from dumb people that are willing to pay me to get as fast as possible my tokens?”
People should you know – EARN their tokens as a group and not get their tokens instantly handed for absolutely no personal effort by an other player that has soloed for their lazy butts the whole dungeon.
The game definetely will profitate only from it, if Anet redesignes finally the Arah Paths and Ascalon Paths.
Especially the Arah Paths.
PS: and if this plague of people will stay in this game, then I hope at least, that once the LFG-Tools reachs finally its ripe phase of getting fully implemented, getting out of its Beta, with more improved features ect., then i eant to see a “Sell Path Filter” at least, so that I can at lease erase all this scum out of my sight …seriously
Say to me, that my view of this is very radical, I don’t care, I stand over that, its simply my true opinion. Such peopel imo don’t belong into MMO’s, they should better play Real Life Simutations or stuff like the good old Monopoly, where its the goal of the game to just profitate from others to get as rich as possible ….

I agree, it was a common thing in GW1. A lot of people did it, especially for very hard story missions that some people know how to solo. I never got scammed by anyone who was selling a mission and am actually quite grateful they helped me complete some harder things.
Orpheal, again, why do you care?
I have no problem with people soloing dungeons, but I would lock party composition for the entire run. (Yes, I realize you might be short when people leave. Too bad.)
And if people AFK’d – there are already mechanisms for tracking contribution.

it was never meant by its design to be asbused as a Selling Platform.
If People so desperately want a selling platform for Dungeons, people should stick to external websites for that crap to do …

A plague? It’s a simple service. It affects no one beside the buyers and sellers.
You say you don’t like the profit aspect. Do you also carry such disdain for anyone who purchases item from the tp with the intention of profiting from it? At least this actually affects you as opposed to path selling.
You also don’t like that the dungeons were “designed” for 5 man teams yet one person can solo without exploiting. Does it anger you in other mmo’s when a 12 man team completes a raid designed for 40?

Yes this about sums it up.
Because these people in my opinion abuse the LFG Tool.
The LFG Tool is a platform that should help as many people as possible to find as easily as possible quickly groups.
So you are basically saying that people who don’t have a guild should be forced to pug.
No, thanks.
I pugged dungeons in this game for more than a year. Even when I tried to be specific in my LFG posts to run with like-minded players most of the times it didn’t work.
Now, instead of wasting my time and getting headaches trying to pug Arah, I can duo it with a friend, getting not only more fun and gold out of it but also the satisfaction of not having to deal with people’s BS anymore. And that includes people who don’t even bother reading the LFG posts before joining, impolite/childish people, guildies that kick others at the end, and specially, people who can’t do the content and need to exploit (<- reason why I quit pugging Arah).
I’m waiting for Anet to fix all exploits and the merge abuse, and even add a different tab for sellers/buyers in the LFG tool, but other than that, you and everyone else asking to remove dungeon selling from the game (and those destroying selling parties) need to grow up a little and accept that not everyone enjoys playing the game the way you do.
