Hi fellow forum-ers,

Recently, after FotM came out, I have extremely scaled back my time spend in GW2.

So I would like to ask:
1. Who here, still come to forums but play the game much less?
2. When did you start playing less?
3. Why / What caused the decline in time spent?

For me:
1. I cannot seem to stop coming to these forums. I guess, I am hoping beyond hope to hear something wonderful from Anet. Like no more ascended gear grind :P

Also it seems that posting on this forum can be more entertaining then playing GW2 FotM with PUGs sometimes :P

2. After the 3nd day of Lost Shores.

3. Could not stand my guildies keep on getting those pink Vials of Mist and I getting zero (I admit, it is my own jealousy). Even after I started to equip full MF gear, MF booster, MF food, etcI did not get any Vials of Mists in guild groups, while others keep getting them and spamming them in Guild chat.

Took a break for a day, when I came back, my guild has leveled beyond me. Afer a few PUGs, I decided to take a break to caught up on other games.

I still come to the forum in hope of good news, and I stop playing the same day the patch was applied. I started playing since the 3 day head start. Was working on getting the legendary twilight/sunrise before the great unmentioned nerfed of Orr and a few other area. I’ve logged back in game once or twice to see how the game was. But did not stay for longer than 5 min.

I’m playing casually, leveling some alts to get dailies, definitely not running FotM dungeons, leveling some crafting albeit slowly (I realized how much of a grind that was going to be, I’m one of those that likes to do all of the crafting professions.)

It’s kind of like I fell in love with GW2 during beta, but ….. it’s “different” now.

Hard to let go …

This may get locked soon.

Anyway, I have stopped. Have not played since Sunday. Saw the latest Press Release about Lost Shores. Received no feedback in that statement that confirmed they even hear those of us that disliked the change in direction.

Decided tonight that I am done. If Arenanet returns to the design approach that was in the game before the 11/16 patch, I will return. If they acknowledge that their core customer base are not people who live for “gear stat” progression, I will return.

It really irked me when I read the statement that this change was made for “the most dedicated player.”

You can look at my post history pre-patch. I was one of their biggest supporters. I played hundreds and hundreds of hours since headstart. At least 4-5 per night on weekdays, 20 or more on weekends (yea I know its a lot but that is how I am when I love a game). I spent money in the cash shop, something I thought I would never do.

Am I not a dedicated player? Am I not a valued customer?

I started playing less once the patch hit for several reasons.

-Once I found out they were handing out precursors and 20 slot item boxes to people who could get to the final event I felt pretty annoyed.
-With a new tier of item coming out it felt pointless to carry on with my efforts to get exotics on my main.
-All the zones and dungeons are empty as everybody flocks to jump on the fractals gear treadmill powered by RNG. First time I have ever seen the straits empty, even early in the morning there are normally a few people trying to get a Balthazar attempt going on my server or at the very least on of the invasion paths but now there is no point since you can get the shards for much less effort in the dungeon without having to deal with weak npc babysitting in a buggy event.
-Couldn’t start doing fractals straight away so now its impossible to find a group since I am still at level 1.
-Latest patch has pretty much killed Mesmer Greatsword which was my favorite weapon in the game.
-My other level 80 Ranger is still sub par and the changes did nothing for the class.
-Leveling alts to change the combat up every so often just leaves me with a feeling that I am getting further behind on the treadmill.
-Dislike the new zone a lot. Nothing to do, not enough way points and all the new monsters are tedious/annoying to fight. Much worse then the Risen in my opinion.

I got my first vial today after 36 fractal runs, so basically if I take that as a precedent for getting more, I’ll need to run the dungeon another 144 times to get 5 – unacceptable.

Couple that with the 1hr+ waiting around Lions Arch for a party to run the scale level I need, then the hour or so to finish it. Your talking 288 hours to get 5 vials – obviously RNG is RNG, so could take less, but it could also take even longer.

I’ve been playing less and less and well not really at all in the past week. I don’t see myself playing much in the future either. I liked the leveling experience, the end game is just not for me. Its huge amounts of time for very little reward and no real impact on other players or the world at large.

While this is true of many MMO’s and has somewhat become a standard over the past decades of MMO development, its also a standard that has become boring and stale to me, and I think to many players, if you look at the diversity and depth of games being produced today and their success rates.

Its a tough challenge for any developer to make a game that casual, hardcore, and people with too much time on their hands can play and find enjoyment and a reason to keep playing. To balance mindless action and intelligence in play, as well as wonder and a sense of growth, power development, and influence over the world.

Few games have ever been able to maintain a community balance on that frontier and maintain. UO and vanilla SWG being two off the top of my head that I can think of, and still look back fondly on, and would go back to in a heartbeat if they were modernized and still had the depth and diversity in their worlds that few games have ever gotten close too. Sony admits they messed up SWG in chasing the mighty dollar and a larger audience and made a huge mistake with that special game that was decades ahead of its time. Those were skill based games with no levels, and for the most part, developers just don’t seem to understand how to make a good one. They were also games where player activity had a huge impact on the world. NPC’s and mobs would fight one another and could change the dynamic of an area in the game drastically with no player intervention. Nearly everything in those worlds has a purpose or impact, and not just as grinding fodder.

The whole concept of a butterfly flying causing a hurricane across the map held sway. You could farm rabbits, meaning wolves had no food, meaning they ate something else, meaning a dragon went hungry and started attacking a town a few days later, or whatever. The world lived and breathed on a very different level from what the WoW madness inspired and other more limited yet successful games. Some modern games try, but often fall short. Personally, I think the gaming industry is near its peak, where it will maintain and see limited growth over the next few decades and more niche based games targeting specific crowds and audiences.

Chasing short term gains and profit is all fine and good, but by and large, the mmo industry lacks the vision to create something special like those and we end up with a market like we have now. When a developer does create something special, they tend to be niche games that evolve slowly over time and through word of mouth, because they tend to lack the support of the investors looking for a quick turnaround on their investment and don’t have the potential growth factor in development resources needed to keep up with evolving player boredom. We seem small gems in the design here and there, but no shining beacon of real innovation or imagination that doesn’t get stale after a few months.

I play less than I did at release, but that means nothing, thats the story with every game. I’m currently working on getting mats for cloaks, lots of them, one for each character I have and will have. Also grinding fractals up until level 10 on each toon, first reached 11 today and scored a ring for my necro.

I only feel the game lacks a proper lfg tool. The game is very nice in every other group finding aspect since you can just tag along without grouping with people in the open world. It’s far from entertaining to stand around in LA looking for fractal groups. It shouldnt be needed for finding groups, it should be possible to experience the rest of the content while browsing groups. Bet it comes before new years though.

I dont see how people have issues getting vials. I run with MF food, thats it and I currently have 5 or 6 in my bank and one already used on my necros cloak.

Also still waiting for class fixes, but the classes are working, no game breaking bugs yet. Pet A.I sucks though.

Not a big fan of the new zone, was expecting more humanoids along with karka. Some crazy pirates maybe that have run out of rum?

From time to time I take a break from GW2 and play Xcom or Mechwarrior Online, but that doesnt mean I’m losing interest in GW2. It’s just that Xcom and Mechwarrior are classic brands from my younger days and I cant pass up playing those from time to time.

I am playing alot less and here is why

I solo’d 5 champs today and got 1 blue armor piece unusable by my class, one white armor piece unusable by my class and a chunk of meat…

Yesterday I decided to try farming the new zone and I killed stuff for about 2 hours including approx 10 vets and wound up with a stack of crabmeat.

The game now seems like it’s fractals of the mist online, and with the way they handled guilds and the lack of real guild functionality they should be ashamed of themselves for having that word in the games title.

Is there any hope for future content for those of us who never liked WoW? Any hope for more traditional mmo type dungeons? How about solo content?

I think the answer is no and so I play less and less…

The main reason I’m playing less is because my guildies never seem to want to actually play. “Hi man!” soon becomes “Yeah, I’m crafting I’ll let you know if blah blah like never or whatever.”

There are two other things which have cooled my love for GW:

-The Lost Shores event (I played at it for hours, and I’ve still not even SEEN a Karka.)

- The only type of PvP I’m interested in is 1v1, and I will never understand how a game can be released in the modern age that doesn’t have it. But DOES have 5v5 and 8v8. What year IS this? I’m STILL waiting for the opportunity to 1v1 in GW1 – it’s not looking good for me…

I have faith in ANet, I know that they will fix as many bugs as they can, and I know that they care about us.

But not seeing any possible way to realistically 1v1 is very very disappointing. I really thought GW2 would be ‘The One’.

There is no way that I will stop or quit, but I couldn’t care less about the dailies anymore. And that makes me a little sad, to be honest. But I have already gotten my money’s worth from this game – I give ANet full props for that.

I haven’t played all week since the finish of Phase 3 and a couple abysmal pugs for FotM. I logged on Monday night and couldn’t decide which of my five characters to play and then when I finally picked one, I didn’t feel like re-exploring (for the 3rd or 4th time) the same zones. Switched to a character to do the story quest, but I couldn’t decide which faction to go with since I’ve done all three on other characters. I tried a skill point and an event, but with no one else in the zone (I think) the fun of playing with other people was missing, and both of these were very difficult indeed. I enjoyed the story and explorer modes of the other dungeons because they took a reasonable amount of time to complete. However, with FotM, you have to do three dungeons which can take up to 3 hours if people aren’t familiar or like me are sort of bad at jumping, if you can even find someone who is the same level as you (I’m level 2). I’m playing other games now for short periods of time which is all I’m going to have with getting ready for Christmas becoming a priority. I miss discovering new zones, and the novelty of the events and story line, and the fun of the original dungeons. I’m not interesting in Fractals or a gear grind, so the new content holds no allure for me.

Started playing less after the final event on Sunday, but now I’m sure I’m done with the game for the time being due to not only the Ascended gear, but also the bugs. Can’t stand it anymore. Also, it doesn’t help that after the first few weeks of playing, the game became pretty repetitive and not what I hoped it would be.

I logged-in today thinking I’ll only do my daily, but then a friend convinced me to do a FotM run with him. After losing 45 minutes on trying to find three more people for level 2 and after spending another 45 minutes doing the first two fractals, the kittening game crashed for all five of us while doing the third fractal. That’s 90 minutes of my life I’ll never be able to get back. Due to a bug. Kittening awesome.

I’m also sick and tired of people spamming LA chat with “LFG FotM lvl insert a number higher than 10 here”, pinging their awesome new pink trinkets and then arguing who has the best gear around. Not really what I was expecting from Guild Wars 2.

Most of my friends with whom I was playing the game quit as well and that certainly helped me to finally decide that, sadly, it’s time for me to move on. I really wanted to like the game, but I just can’t seem to. I wouldn’t go as far as to tell that I quit solely because of the Ascended gear, but it certainly was the tipping point for me.

Considering the main thing I enjoy is WvW and there was nothing new about it this patch I’m not too pleased. I haven’t logged in since the update and there is currently not enough info on ascended gear acquisition from WvW (or standard crafting for that matter) for me to bother chasing the carrot. Not gonna grind a dungeon endlessly when I don’t enjoy that playstyle. I’ll wait to see what they say next week on gear and stuff, but I won’t hold my breath.

A friend convinced me to log on once to give Fractals of the Mists a try (and I admit I was curious about it, as it looked really good). I did that, and it was a really good dungeon.

But other than that, I haven’t played the game since the announcement of Ascended gear, and I don’t plan on playing it again, unless and until the power creep and the treadmill are completely eliminated, or at least localized to the FotM dungeon. I probably wouldn’t have even bothered to give it a try, except that the announcement was so sudden that playing the game still feels like part of my daily ‘routine’.

That feeling is fading fast, though, so new content probably won’t drag me in again without fixing my primary issue with the game.

On November 10th, I never wanted to log off. On November 13th, I never wanted to log back on.

I spent just enough time this weekend farming the stupid RNG vial for my ascended back piece to realize that this sort of “fun” was exactly why I left Aion. If the course continues, I won’t be coming back.

Even though they never tried to lure me in by pretending there wasn’t a grind, I won’t be going back to Aion, either – I’ve already penciled in NC right next to EA on the list of companies I can’t trust not to kill off my most beloved franchises for a quick buck.

I won’t be asking for a refund, because it was a good 600 hours. But it pains me as a long time GW1 player – it could so very easily have been so much more than that.

I played Fractals once, when it came out for the first time, and the group disaband at the wisps. So I never seen all of 1. LFG was out of the question. I spammed it in Lions Arch for close to an hour, and couldn’t get in a group doing level 1. People where on level 2 by now. With each minute that turned into days after, I was falling further behind the gear treadmill.

My first 80 is still missing his Helm, and Exotic gloves, with only 37.000 Karma to spend under his belt. The other two 80’s I have only have two exotic pieces each. So now I am faced with choices of the neverending grind:

1)Do I grind the Karma needed for the last two pieces of Exotic Gear on my first 80?

2)Do I aim to grind more karma for my other 80’s to get more pieces of exotics?

3)Do I save the Karma for the legendary weapons?(I think it is 500.000 Karma points per weapon)

4)Do I start an alt to help with gathering low level mats for my 80’s to use to increase weaponsmith.

5)Do I halt all Karma, mats and exotic grind for my 80’s to start grinding Acsended Gear for my first 80?

Each day goes by and I just fall further, and further behind the gear treadmill. I see people in LA spaming level 11 factals already, you think they would ever do level 1 again? I doubt it.

So between the event that ruffled a lot of feathers on people that DID NOT GET A PRECURSOR DROP. To the content locust, To the Mats, gold and Karma grind for a Legendary, to the Exotic Karma grind, and now the Acsended gear treadmill, Is why I log less. It is what it is though.

I’m playing more than ever. I have plenty to keep me busy, and if I don’t feel like grinding for anything in particular I wander around the maps and help people complete events.

I’ve yet to get a nasty letter from ANet demanding that I run Fractals all day instead of doing whatever I like. I also am not dying every 5 minutes because I don’t have legendary gear, and rather look forward to the long term goal.

Oddly enough, most of the people I run into in the game are having a blast in spite of an entire forum full of negative comments. How odd.

I normally do not visit the forums except on the odd occasion I’m not able to play and have fun in the game. After this recent update however, I choose to spend my time reading the forums instead of playing the game. I have logged in maybe once since the Lost Shore event and am now re-downloading my old games to have something to play again. I might pop back in GW2 every now and then to see if they have made it any better, but GW2 is definitely not MY game any longer. The thought of playing just leaves a bad taste for me now.

I ran FotM a few times, and didn’t enjoy it. I do not enjoy jumping puzzles, not everyone does… so why add it to a dungeon which has to be grinded repeatedly? I consider myself an avid dungeon crawler and I enjoyed the other dungeons in the game. Now not only can I not find a group for those dungeons, they have also been made pointless to run due to exotics being subpar.

These are just a couple of reasons the game is no longer for me, now I am scoping out other possibilities on the horizon. I am thoroughly disappointed however, I had such high hopes for GW2 and thought it would be my ‘home’ but it is taking a turn for the worst.

1. I, like you, check the forums in hopes of positive red posts regarding the one-time event chest.

2. When did you start playing less?
After the end of the one-time lost shores event.

3. Why / What caused the decline in time spent?
I watched virtually my entire net worth (wrapped up in a precursor) drop to 15% of what it cost me to obtain, while other players, many not even lv80, with shiny new Dawn & The Hunter, etc. All in the blink of opening a chest.
Furthermore, I watched friends who disconnected or were simply a little too far away, running back after death etc, not even get a chance to loot. It was a massively imbalanced, and, for some people, game-breaking event chest.

We watched the same thing with people spending 100g to make the mad king gear, and a few days later its a chest drop and worth 10g. This is totally an unacceptable system if A-net continues making sudden and massive tweaks to the market in ways that erases individual players efforts in a flash.

“Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games.”

I think it’s a combination of factors besides the recent change that is causing less people to logon, such as people preparing for the year end holidays or just trying the new games that are coming out.

But it is kinda depressing that when I was wondering Queensdales trying to complete my daily achievement that that zone have become so much quiet and I barely saw anyone there.

I don’t think I’ve played more than 30 minutes since Sunday, and even over the weekend I barely put in 2 hours.

I keep checking the forums hoping that something will change, or that at the very least Anet will open up a line of communications with us. Instead I’m seeing threads closed, empty pr statements and terse warnings to leave off the discussions of ascended gear.

Even their most recent pr blog post about the near future leaves me stunned over the emphasis on dungeons. If I wanted to grind dungeons/gear I’d play ANY OTHER game. This game was supposed to be different, and that isn’t just me making an assumption or blindly hoping. They flat out told us, multiple times, that this wouldn’t be one of those games. They claimed to understand gamers because their gamers themselves. They repeatedly pointed to the first GW emphasis on content rather than gear/dungeons, to back up their word. Yet just 3 months in they’ve pulled a 180.

The discontent over the recent changes so far has spread to multiple gaming outlets and even amazon user reviews, with the score for GW2 dropping a full point. Just wait until the media runs with it. Gaming media and even mainstream media trumpeted GW2 and joined GW fans in building the game up. You think gamers can be loud when they’ve been betrayed? The media loves nothing more than to knock others off pedestals. Ignoring the outrage isn’t going to make the problem simply go away.

Honestly I am playing far less and am not at all enthused to continue playing. I already have a subscription to a dungeon grinding game (Rift). I came to play GW2 because it was different. Now that it is slowly moving away from being different, I find myself less interested in playing it. I already play one grinder, and even if I enjoy it why would I play 2?

I haven’t quit yet, but when the new gear tier is completely released and starts to affect my WvW gameplay adversely, I’ll likely call it quits, or if they release another tier after ascended., Until then ill just keep playing and try to ignore this horrible decision.

1. I have started coming to the forums a bit more. With all the given changes, I felt it was necessary to voice my concerns as a customer. As a whole, I’m happy with the direction of the game and generally still love the game.
2. I started playing less due to my guild falling apart. I’ve since found another guild and I’m enjoying the game once more.
3. Having a good group of community is what makes or breaks a game for me. I can stand the changes to Ascended gear. The only that would make me stop playing less would be a LoTRO style implementation where adverts are everywhere. Here’s to hoping that doesn’t happen!

To sum up the reasons I don’t play much anymore would be Australian lag (its seriously crippling), and the fundamental design flaws of the elementalist class. I don’t want to reroll, I like the idea of what the class could be. One problem or the other I could live with, but when you factor both problems together I am left with a result that is no longer fun.

And no, I don’t need to learn to play like so many americans like to tell me when I complain about the issue. The elementalist in its current form simply cannot thrive in a high ping environment. Sure you can get by, but just playing well on an elementalist is enough of a chore without 400 ping. When you factor that in, you miss attacks constantly, you get smacked for half your hp mid dodge roll, you rubberband like mad on movement abilities (ride the lightning is like self casting an earthquake some days).

I might come back to play a lot more if
a: Aussie servers (I seriously doubt that will ever happen)
b: Serious rework of the elementalist (Don’t see this happening either)
c: Smoothping releasing a working and reliable client for gw2. (Doesn’t look like its going to happen anytime soon)

And so I keep an eye one the forums, hoping that eventually something will be fixed enough for me to play again and have fun.

So I would like to ask:
1. Who here, still come to forums but play the game much less?
- I check the forums now once or twice a day to see if there is any news on the “prohibited” subject. Since the “prohibited” issue was patched in I’ve logged in just a few times to say farewell to a few friends.

2. When did you start playing less?
-The day of the patch.

3. Why / What caused the decline in time spent?
-The “prohibited” issue contained within the patch. I’ve had experiences with this issue in other games and won’t waste time building characters that become obsolete due to a vertical progression feature. I hope they change their minds, but I am looking for a new game now as it seems that that is unlikely.

I am playing less because I cannot find a group for Fractal runs..low lvl fractal runs. I sat in map chat for 30 minutes about 2 hours ago, I couldnt find a group. I saw one other person looking for a lvl 5 run. I logged off, signed into WoW.

Trying again, but since it is getting late I am only giving it 10 minutes this time..

Keep in mind, these are semi-peak horus. 8-9pm EST is kinda peak, at least around these parts.

If the FoTM train has passed me by, then GW2 might have passed me by.

I’ve been playing less since I found out about the lost shores patch and not seeing anything for wvw, still log on for a couple hours a night for wvw here and there. I logged on at the event times to see if it would be interesting, we know how that went. Stopped bothering finish gearing the 2nd 3rd alt, stopped leveling 4th alt. Spend more time in the forums than the game now lol.

Another derailing post. ^^

I’m certainly not going to buy anything from them or (especially) NCSoft, ever again. The sooner both of them crash and burn, and all their employees lose their jobs, the happier I’ll be.

So, because they made a change in the game that you don’t like, you’re actively hoping that a lot of people suddenly lose their jobs and are unable to support their families?

I don’t see anything in his post about “unable to support their families”. Want to throw in some random statement about killing puppies, too?

Unfortunately, commercial failure seems to be the only thing large companies understand, as evidenced by the fact that, until WoW started losing subscribers, everyone was obsessed with copying it. Unless bad design decisions have a financial impact on the company, the people who made those decisions will tend to remain in charge, and continue making equally misguided decisions.

So yes, sadly he has a point. Until a few people at Arena Net get fired, things will probably keep going in this direction. I’m sure they’ll have no trouble finding a new job.

I differ from him in one point, though; I would have no issue buying other NCsoft products (Arena Net has claimed several times that they were given total freedom to design GW2 the way they wanted); NCsoft is just a publisher. I won’t be spending another cent on Arena Net products, though.

I have cut way back on my playing because;

1. The events, the way the outlying NPCs were handled was atrocious. Stand around and wait with a mass of people to hope you get a hit on Noll that counts just to progress? Come on people, have all the creative brains at ArenaNet quit?

2. Yet more jumping paths in Fractals. This is not super mario brothers. There is no reason for the jumping paths. It is a stupid mechanism in my opinion.

3. LAG! Massive lag spikes, getting kicked from an over flow and never getting to see the ONE TIME ONLY EVENT.

4. One time only events. This is idiotic. It does NOT change the world enough to matter. Repeat the event several times during the day. A single day would be okay, not great but at least okay.

5. Drops, as in NONE. Sick of either not getting anything at all when I am with a zerg or getting junk on the few drops that I do get. Massive Dynamic Events just to get to the last champion and zip, nothing, nada, nil! Only way I ever get ANYTHING on a zerg is to hit a creature first. I have to deal with massive agro after that but I always get a drop then. The weird thing is I do LESS damage when I do that. Something if F-ed up with the participation meter.

6. PvP points needed for world map completion. BEYOND STUPID!

7. Chests of any kind, Black Lion or Consortium. WAY too expensive for the junk that they contain. Stop the Maple Story idiocy. Yes, we know what happened to the cash shop and who is really running it. Give us TANGIBLE goods that we know what we are buying.

Those are just the top 7. There are more. I am a long time Guild wars player from all the way back during the very first Beta Event of GW1. The crap that this game has become has disillusioned me on ArenaNet. It was not ready for prime time when it was released and they have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they cannot run the game they have.

I was very excited to play GW2 but now I am just angry and disappointed.

1: I play the game less primarily because I spent a fair amount of time this last weekend playing. I have other things I wanted to do (helping out with some friends’ stuff, having to get the heat back on in the house, you know, the usual RL interference), but when I get on it feels like I’m not supposed to be enjoying myself. And if I do, I am somehow wrong. So right about there the guilt kicks in for enjoying myself.

2: I move in cycles, truth be told. I play for short bursts of intense periods once or twice a month, then cut back towards only doing a few things a day. Too much of this game will burn me out, just like I burned out on other games.

3: I answered this in the other two, but . . . if there’s a problem with Guild Wars 2 for me, it’s the community (outside my guild, naturally). Rather, it’s the lovely people who feel the need to go “oh you’re not really having fun” as I’m playing. I’m not playing a game, I’m chasing a grind. I’m not restocking supplies to build more armor for people asking me for it, I’m hoping for sweet loot drops. I’m not chipping in on helping an event actually succeed, I’m facilitating a broken system.

What is it that keeps me coming back? The community. The people who saw me hanging around Southsun Cove exploring for hidden goodies and went: “hey, it’s you!” in a positive way. The people who I give help to and actually mean it when they say thanks. The two people I did an event at Jolfast’s Waypoint with where we had to have mowed down almost a dozen dozen of Risen but we were too stubborn to stop, until we could get more people there to put it down for good. The small group who I joined up with then doing the Temple of Melandru for my personal first time ever, and were happy to have someone showing up on an off-hour point. The people who tell me “thanks friend” for pointing out Rich Ore Veins.

I kind of hear you on this…

I am torn between which gear grind I want to roll, GW2, Rift, or WoW. I resubbed this week due to the crappy patch in GW2, hit 90.. So I can start the grind there and to be honest, im enjoying some of the changes. My warrior in rift has been destroyed. Not sure what I want to do yet.

Its all a grind

I’m playing casually, leveling some alts to get dailies.
With a new tier of item coming out it felt pointless to carry on with my efforts to get exotics on my main.
Haven’t even done FotM. Would rather not start the treadmill at all.

Playing less cause no one is running the dungeons I need/want. I have no intention of farming karma again, so I was trying to get dungeon armor this time around.

No reason to really invest in dungeon armor now though; Ascended armor will eventually replace it. So I can’t blame anyone…. but it removed my desire to play as that was my goal.

On my main, I missed the initial FotM rush, so I’m behind the curve now. Can’t get into groups now as I don’t have the “difficulty X”.

Loaded up SWToR and Planetside 2 – enjoying those a lot right now. Something to do at least besides stand in town spamming “LFG”.

Personally, it has been almost 3 months since GW2 was released, and I’ve seen most of the content in the game, except the new stuff like fractals so that’s why I don’t play as much as I use to.

Likewise, I expect a lot of players to be in a similar boat. Once you do practically everything in a game you move on to something else, even another game / hobby.

If there is new content, have a look at that, and then move on.

Makes me wonder though how WoW players can play the game for sooo long even though they are revisiting the same content again (they must be, they can’t be doing new content in the game everyday! O_o) and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again to ultimately make a powerful character until the expansion comes out, and then they do the new content all over again and again and again and again and again and again and again.
