Hi all & ArenaNet,

I know you don’t get these type of posts enough, so here you go!

I’d just like to say how much my Team and I appreciate all the Home Runs your hitting:
1) Account Wide Wallet = Awesome = Home Run!
2) Living Story Events = Ever Changing fun! (Thanks for all the hard work!)
3) Larger Crafting Storage option = Homerun
4) Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, Infinite Tools, etc.. = Homerun
(I don’t mind paying some $$ to support the game, you guys are doing great!)
5) New Fractals = Fun! Love fractals!
(Though some of those newer ones should be lev 10+ Like the “Tron” one where the floor drops out, tough on newbie’s & Pug’s. The mechanics are a bit advanced for newer players, like ones being upscaled from lower levels.)
6) Upcoming Trait Change’s = Looks Cool!
7) WvW Seasons to motivate people to play WvW! LOVE IT! Can you say E-Sports? YES!

And the reason I was so motivated to come post, the new Wardrobe/Dye changes = Brilliant! bows with much respect

And I could just go on & on, but you get the idea.

GW2 is so my favorite game because you all are really making the right changes that make the game more & more fun!

Some other home runs we would like to request:
1) Guild Chat: Make what was typed in Guild Chat not disappear when I log out to another char and back in. Party chat stays, but not Guild chat for some reason. Minor I know, but I miss stuff people type to me and as the leader, that can be a bummer.

2) Guild Housing: The team and I want a home we can call our own. If it was me, I’d make those houses on the top of Divinity’s Reach purchasable via auction. Don’t instance it away, Make it in the Open world where people can just “Run Buy” and find & talk with new people. Instanced Housing always becomes ghost towns I find. Case in point = LOTRO Housing.
— Also this would be a super fun thing for the members to gather together wood, Ore, etc.. to make the house. Then stock it with stuff, crafting, etc. Motivates members! Please don’t make this out of reach of the small/medium guilds.

COMING! 3) Request from members: Old World Event Items like from the original Mad Kings Event, etc.. to make account bound, not soul bound to use on other char. Since some of them are unusable on the char they dropped to.

COMING! 4) Another member Request: Ascended Jewelries and Trinkets = Account Bound., allows people to try different builds or at least some Middle ground.

In closing, please pass on to the entire ArenaNet team our thanks & appreciation.

Nice post!
For myself
1) Account Wide Wallet – Definite home run – love that!
2) Living Story Events – Some ups, some downs but overall really enjoyed the ride. It was a learning experience for everyone. I am eagerly awaiting the next!
3) Larger crafting storage option – big home run for me. It has been so helpful when trying to get my crafting levels up.
4) Copper-fed Salvage-O-Matic, Infinite Tools etc. – another home run. The overall convenience of these made the cost well worth it to me.
5) New Fractals – I have not done Fractals as yet but would like to.
6) Upcoming trait changes – Should be interesting and another learning experience – this keeps the game fresh for me.
7) WvW Seasons – I enjoy WvW but last season wore me out due to the issues that arose last season and I am hoping some of that will be resolved this season.

I am also excited about the new Wardrobe/Dye changes and what they will bring. I do think it is a change for the positive overall.

Thanks, ANet, I know it is hard to try to please the plethora of folk who inhabit this world. Kudos for continuing to make this a fun gaming experience.

The guild chat disappears because you can represent different guilds on each character. But if you are representing the same guild on both chars the previous chat should stay visible.

@Everything else, agree, this changes are great and i hope they will keep bringing more stuff.

I don’t bother too much about some of the stuff that has been introduced (except the wallet – that was a nice touch), but this is one of the best changes I’ve seen so far and will keep me playing the game for a long time.

Keep up the good work, ArenaNet.

I agree pretty much with all the points by the TS. I’ll admit that I havent availed myself of items in the gem store much, I was Lucky enough to have a lot of gems traded for gold when they were still very cheap but that’s part of why I like GW anyway, there’s never been any need to pay for items, its all largely cosmetic or convenience and thats fine by me.

I will say I do agree on missing the Guild Halls like we had in GW1, I know they didnt amount to much really but there was just something about having them and it made life easy for trading and selling stuff, I’d really appreciate a return of that feature.

So far the overhaul looks very good to me, the dye and wardrobe change is very nice imho (I have a small kitten so I’m easy to please ) and the overhaul of the trait system looks quite decent as well.

Lets see what else they have in store for us

I’m pretty kittened that they somehow decided to make tonics out of town clothes, and it forces you into the full look, so no mix and match, instead of making it armor to apply with transmutation charges.

I can’t grasp the idea why someone even would consider that.

1) Account Wide Wallet = There are several currencies that need to be added, but overall, a good idea.
2) Living Story Events = Stupid waste of time, dungeon team should never have been disbanded.
3) Larger Crafting Storage option = Should have been a QOL patch for everybody, not a payed option.
4) Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, Infinite Tools, etc.. = I don’t mind these, I like the convenience.
5) New Fractals = Oh please, where was that leader board we were promised for which they reset everyone’s level? where was our compensation? WHY THE HELL IS DREDGE STILL HERE.
6) Upcoming Trait Changes = Yes these should be a nice addition, so many times have I been in a dungeon and wanted to change traits.
7) WvW Seasons to motivate people to play WvW, I don’t WvW anymore, the zergfest is boring, and the roaming has been stale for so long.

1) Account Wide Wallet – Convenient but not new content.
2) Living Story Events – New content, but incredibly easy and boring with a snooze inducing story.
3) Larger crafting storage option – Convenient but not new content.
4) Copper-fed Salvage-O-Matic, Infinite Tools etc. – Convenient but not new content.
5) New Fractals – New content gated by the start of the downfall of GW2.
6) Upcoming trait changes – More build options for content that doesn’t exist.
7) WvW Seasons – A joke.

Things I would like:
-New Dungeons
-New Jumping Puzzles
-New Single Player Story things (like the story missions, not living story)
-Guild Wars 2 to be Guild Wars 1 with jumping and better graphics.

The Feature patch is awesome, only thing at the moment that got me sad it’s the clothes changes.

Yet i am to see on those friendly play blog posts if they will address the PvE Issues, the problem with huge zerg-lag-farm-trains and finally go and get rewards and difficulty balanced on all the maps, because at this moment for several things from resource nods to monster drops, we can’t get what we get on 80 maps on any other place.

If they manage to balance those it will get finally motives to explore PvE more, to don’t worry about what happens now “i can make my time worth more on 80s maps”.

These changes are really good, but they’re also desperately needed. The game still has some flaws that are major sore spots for most MMO players, like the utter lack of endgame. Honestly, we’re about 3 or 4 “feature patches” away from the GW2 realizing the potential it could have had… and that’s only if the balance team makes a total 180 with regard to class balance and stat scaling.

remember that Blizzard have been working on WoW for 10 years and there is still balance issues. Such are really normal in MMOs. What should be tweaked is the boss and combat mechanics to allow more build diversity.

I think you are confusing GW with WoW or traditional MMO’s, the design notion behind GW was never to provide constant play and endgame content until doomsday. Sure, if you want you can grind your behind off but its not like there’s an actual need to do so. If you read what Mike O’Brien says on the subject still today its that his views havent changed on that score.

Its been said over and over by the people leading Anet over time in interviews, you play GW for a while and then you go play something and when you want to come back, there it is, still free to play as much or little as you want.

As for balance, they’re doing a better job with it than with GW1 where it got totally out of hand, frankly, whatever they do the players will come up with a new meta that will rule them all, Always have, Always will and its no different in other MMO’s.

No, I’m not. This is actually a misconception of a misconception. The argument isn’t “end game grind vs. not.” If it were, this game would be much more popular.

The argument is “We can provide an MMO with only fun and no grind” (GW2) vs. “Good luck with that” (WoW).

This isn’t about the kind of content we have, it’s about whether we have content at all. And we don’t. If we did, everyone wouldn’t have this same, nagging question… one that has never been answered well… “What do I do at max level in this game?” In other words, how do I progress? How do I continue living the fantasy of being my character? GW2 hasn’t provided the content yet. Period. My hope is that they do so in the future, because MAN am I sick of playing World of Warcraft.

First off normally when someone refers to me as a “Fanboy” of anything, i’m quick to say no. Though the GW2 team has been winning me over. I’m not afraid to say i’ve grown to be a huge fan of their work & game. Not because I follow people blindly, but through their consistent actions and game improvements. The yard stick I use is: Are members having fun in game? The Answer = Yes.

I’ll have to differ to the experts on balance/E-Sports issue, its for sure not me. Its a touchy and nearly impossible task, from all the games i’ve played over the years. Would it be fun to watch WvW from other peoples perspective, like Epic Highlights of massive battles? Sign me up.

Since game isn’t even out for two years, it couldn’t have taken years. And Fractals wasn’t in the game at release. What it took was a bit over one year, during time, there was other stuff to do.

The fractal cap was always supposed to be there.
