How to improve Supportive Builds in GW2
I think it could cause Druid to be required for every party content.
In PUGs this could lead to even more frustration having to depend on a random person to survive. And those Druids could be the one getting all the blame for every wipe that occures. Not to forget, having to wait specifically for a Druid to join your party
Beside that, you could only need such heals if you are getting hit constantly and we’ve found ways to minimize that.
The way druid is now, is indeed a heal bot. I think it would’ve been wiser to lock most heal abilities behind the Celestial Avatar mechanic and add some more fighting and active defense abilities to the regular skills of staff. Else it would be wise to assume that instead of having to rely on dodges/reflects/CC’s/positioning, we depend on a healer giving us the room to facetank.
I really wouldn’t want to wait for a Druid to come and heal us all. My point is, since most (if not every) classes can support their team in different ways it would be nice to make Supportive builds (not only healing) more viable. Builds like Clerics Guardian, Druid, Ventari Revenant, Healing power Ele. I don’t think it would be difficult to find someone to support the team when there are so many supportive builds and supportive gear is accessable by everyone. Again, i don’t want to wait for a healer but i don’t want to have a full dmg party either.

That’s actually possible at the moment. My friend loves playing tanky characters, so when I play with him (Most days). We just make our own group, which usually fills up in less than two minutes, and do just fine in completing both dungeons and fractals.
We’ve never hit a brick wall or been unable to find people to play with despite him not playing a full damage build. If you don’t want to have a full damage party, just don’t go full damage, it’ll be fine. Honestly, we had more complaints about not corner stacking and actually engaging in the fight mechanics than we did about his build.
