I'm 80, now what?
Dungeons and fractals and grind for Ascended or Legendary gear.
GW2 had no endgame with the exception of maybe WvW(zergVzerg)

Essentially there is nothing drastically different at 80 than there is at any other level. Unlike other MMOs, GW2 does not ‘begin’ after hitting max level. The game is just as much about the journey to 80 as it is about play after 80.
Being 80 simply “opens up” everything to you. You no longer have to worry about straying into an area that is too high a level, and there are certain dungeon paths that require being max level, but beyond that… shrug
Congrats, you can do anything that you like now, a few things:
- Explore the map: Having at least all the waypoints unlocked is a real help to do some content, like world bosses for example, which leads to…
- World bosses: You can now go without problems to the the ones in Orr and Southsun (when there’s a server on it of course, usually after Tequatl the group goes to the Karka Queen).
- Advance your crafting professions: Gives some achievement points and you don’t have to rely on the TP for some things if you have the materials ;D (Don’t bother with creating the ascended gear unless you have decided about your build and won’t change it for some time, although by creating now the materials you’ll have an advantage when you finally decide).
- Dungeons, dungeons and more dungeons: You can easily do most of the dungeons and can start advancing in fractals, if you learn to do speed runs you can earn gold quickly with dungeons
- Pimp your
ridecharacter: Most of the people (myself included) aim to get some nice looking gear/weapons once the characters are 80, there’s some sites that let you preview how a gear set looks and you can search for it in-game to see for yourself (the PvP locker also has all the available gear). http://www.gw2armor.com/ - Legendaries: The most time consuming thing you’ll ever aim for in this game, it requires a lot of mats and I think that the wiki can give a better explanation than me (Just take it easy with this one) :P http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon
I believe those things will keep you busy for quite some time (and if it doesn’t TELL ME YOUR SECRETS), just don’t worry as others have said there’s no truly end-game in here, just play what you like and enjoy the game.

So, I have no idea what to do at 80 now that I’ve hit max level.
I guess to get a prespective on what I want to do, I like pve over pvp and I dont know anything after christmas 2012 :x
I play a warrior, btw
world bosses, explorable dungeon paths, map completion, ascended gear and maybe a legendary, WvW, LS, jumping puzzles, roll an alt, achievements, finish personal story. That should keep you busy for a bit.
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
If I had 1g for every time I see one of those posts…
Play the game. If you haven’t figured out what to do the entire time you were leveling, you weren’t really enjoying the game to begin with.

This really isn’t a fair statement. One can level from 1-80 in a matter of a week or two if you focus on it and actually experience very little of the game if all you’re doing is exploration/map clearing.

Afking in LA. Most people do it. I hear it’s extreme fun playing this game… oh wait.
Get your 5 legendaries. Have fun…
EU Elona Reach – Void Sentinels
3 things…
Do a couple of explorer mode dungeons to get the ‘look’ you want, troll about a few maps doing events thinking, ‘Rawr! Man, I am 80/ flex smash’, then roll and alt.
Join a decent guild. Do guild missions with them and WvW. Get some regular friends to do dungeon running and fractals with. Roll a new character and level him up fast with the shared gold reserves.. just a few of many things to do.
It’s upto you, gw2 wont guide you by the hand, you have to make your own goals. Luckily they are plenty.
