Why do you forsake me so, Anet?
The only pants available are the genie pants and the weird karma ones with bones sticking out every which way.
I demand pants. And if my demands are not met… well, fine then, nothing happens.

I love the genie pants.
I do not, however, love what those pants do to my boots.
‘Cause if you’re a cloth wearer you should get used to being caught with your pants down!
Here you go, lots of Mesmer armor with pants.

Oops, my bad. Wrong game. :P

You should threaten to put toast crumbs in their butter and margarine. That'll get them moving, for sure.
Which race are you?
And you could try the ascalonian dungeon “pants”, however, they do have a skirt over it,..
But yeah, we need more armors and more diversity!

I see plenty of pants..
EDIT: PANTS!!!
(edited by locoman.1974)
He/ she is a female (?) mesmer (= light armor) and male medium armor doesn’t make any sense in that case at all. xD

This is old news. People have been complaining about the armors in this game without actually knowing what kinds of armors are available since well before beta started.
He/ she is a mesmer and medium armor doesn’t make any sense in that case at all. xD
So click the light armor button near the top and see all the pants. I’ve seen several for both genders. In fact, in terms of female armor, I’d have to say that Guild Wars 2 is overall one of the most conservative MMOs I’ve ever seen.

You misunderstand, I do not mean as far as skin being shown.
I mean simple pants, no dress over it. Or skirt over it, for that matter.
If you click Female → Human → Light armor, you will notice that the pants disappear.

Yeah, female has fewer options for pants, but still some could be considered pants even if it has a skirt on top of it, IMHO, like these..

EDIT: just noticed OP doesn’t want skirts over pants thing, then yep, choices are indeed limited..
Ascalonian Catacombs pants are basically skinny jeans. They have a dress part too, but they’re the closest I’ve found to simplistic looking legwear.
That’s why I mentioned them, too. And if you wear a nice fitting top, you could act as the skirt would be part of the top… (yeah, not really.. but I would give it a try..)

Ah, something of a different issue. Sorry, I just assumed this was another repeat of the same old nonsense. My mistake.
That said I feel your pain; I feel much the same way about coats with mid-armor. So I agree; we just plain need more armor sets with a greater diversity of styles. (Can I get some long chain-mail tunics and coats for heavy armor, please? I hate plate-mail.)
I am a mesmer and I like short skirts! Unfortunately, the only short skirt available is the one that you start out with
I hope they add the Rogue Armor set from GW1… I want pants for my female mesmer as well. :P
Well, it’s a pretty nice one, though..

You can get the magician’s leggings and dye the stockings skin colored so it looks like a short skirt (with no leggings). Just don’t look beneath it.

Haha maybe I will check that out
It’s strange, for light armor: there is both no “pants” AND no skirts*.
*other than the starter skirt, they all have leggings, or big dress/skirt/things. What are those anyways?
For the OP, the Gemstore profane set is the closest option you can find, no counting town clothes.
Human Cultural Tier 2 is a fantastic set for pants-lovers. (For males anyway).
Female Norn clothie Tier 2.
:D
We definitely need more variety. More mixing and matching. Just plain more.
Agreed, I want just ONE pair of pants with no skirt bullcrap for my female ele. Variety is the spice of life…
Ya, and i want my zettai ryouiki too.
Solomon Grundy want pants too!
I also had trouble finding pants without anything attached.
However my guildies mentioned that these are a bit tight around the lower area
Anyway. Since i was going for the “simple” Mesmer style i went with the Ascalon Catacomb pants, since they were the closest to pants.
btw. you also have to pic your boots carefully, since appearently the artistdepartment didnt count for pants and a lot of them are clipping
Basicly male have around 5 “pants” without much on it, while woman have two at most.
I use 2 pair of pants. (1 for PvE and one for sPvP)
PvE: Ascalonian Clergy Pants
sPvP: Profane Pants(skin on Gem Store)
…And if my demands are not met… well, fine then, nothing happens.
Hehehe lol, that cracked me up
Not if you’re a human, And i get you bro.
I refuse to wear a skirt.
You can call it a robe all you want, its still a skirt.
You think you have it bad? Go find a Medium human armor that isn’t a trenchcoat or variation thereof. There’s one. That’s it! I don’t want my thief to be wearing a freakin trenchcoat!
But, as per the “time for new armor” thread – ANet is unlikely to release new armors soon, since with 6 pieces per armor, times 3 armor classes, times 5 races = 90 pieces of armor that need to be designed to release just ONE armor set….yeah..

thats why I rerolled, mostly.
Im like… seriously :| the only thing that isnt a trench coat is the asymmetrical couture T3 for humans.
Oh and the Ascalonian one, but thats like some ancient old school leather armour
I have the opposite problem. I play a female asura and want more skirts/robes for my elementalist.
Here you go, lots of Mesmer armor with pants.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mesmer_armorOops, my bad. Wrong game. :P
Godsabove do I miss my female Elite Rogue armor set from GW1. And my Krytan Regal with the Luxon top. Jeez, ANet, just give my giant Norn mezzie gal some slick over-the-knee boots and slim fitting pants and I will be a happy mez.

Also, I want the female enchanter armor! Bring it back!
Luxon and Elite Luxon are also pretty awesome.
Even the males have almost no pant options. I rolled a mes, realized this at lvl 10 when I strolled to the locker in HoM, and promptly rerolled a female. If I’m gonna have to wear a dress, I might as well do it on a female.
+1 for the OP;
(My main was a mesmer in GW1; I want to play a light-armour type profession eventually, but the lack of pants is kitten.)
You know even jeans would have been nice too. I mean come on, after 100 years from gw1 you would think at least someone would have invented jeans. But yeah, pretty much why I don’t use my mesmer much anymore I just don’t like looking at her armor anymore. I already have an Ele and a necro so yeah, I’ve seen all the armor selections for my mesmer already.
Oh yes, I would like to have pants for my mesmer too. It’s even more strange when my thief got tons of it.
Profane Pants (Price: 500 gems for the whole set. Usable in both PvE and sPvP)
Ascalonian Clergy Pants (Price/Acquisition: 300 Ascalonian Tears or rank 50 in sPvP)
But my mesmer is a norn female.
The profane set looks pretty weird imo on a female.
And the ascalonian set looks like she put a mini-skrirt over her pants.
The only set which comes close is the t1 cultural gear.
The profane set is basically hot pants with thigh high boots on a female character.
Profane armor on females is the tackiest armor in gw2. It’s trying so hard to be sexy but utterly fails, ending up as nothing but tasteless.
I’m a medium user and love pants as well =D We have the best and most pants in the game!!
Buuuuut, they are mostly hidden by the vast amounts of strange and hideous “coats”
Cannot wait for a new slew of armor skins, hopefully they will be my style this time around.
You title reminds me of the opening of an AA meeting.
I’m a Mesmer and I like pants.
crowd “hello Mesmer”
On topic: my necro has a hard time finding suitable leggings too.

Sorry bro, but those are TIGHTS
Games seem to bring out the robe/hooker wear look in designers. I don’t know why.

You don’t know why? Seriously?
Sex sells. That’s why. It’s not ANet’s fault, it’s not our fault, it’s just the reality of.. reality.
I know sex sells, I don’t know why the game devs think everyone is a horny teenage boy.
