I would pay for a Necromancer Pet 'skin pack'
I’d go back to MM in a heart beat if we could use just about anything but these ugly things. I’ve gotten super attached to the idea of Minion Master, and even after 2.5 solid years as a (well known) MM, I’ve never gotten attached to a single minion via-looks (except the one that’s unusable… Love Blood fiend… RIP). To me, as a summoner niche, its very disappointing. That’s half the fun of being that archetype, getting attached to your kick kitten looking followers.
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
“Army of Darkness” Alternate Pet Pack:
Bone Minions = Skeleton Warriors (1 Sword/Axe)
Jagged Horror = Skeleton Berserkers (2 Swords/Axes)
Bone Fiend = Skeleton Archer
Shadow Fiend = Skeleton Thief (Cloak, Daggers)
Blood Fiend = Skeleton Mage (Cloak, Staff)
Flesh Golem = Skeleton Knight (Plate Armor, 2H-Sword)
Flesh Wurm = half-buried Rotting Zombie
would pay for this also, plus an extra character slot
As they are now they are not scary but if the idea was to make the flesh golem as ugly as possible … mission accomplished.
I would not suggest making anything remotely similar to monsters we see in the game. People would constantly be getting distracted from the real enemy and trying to kill minions.

If the Flesh Golem had at least a head between its shoulders instead just a horn, this would be a start.
Well, maybe if they are very new to the game.
But ppl that are able to play this game should be also able to distinguish pets and mobs.
Well I like the idea, sounds great but it might be too much work for the devs to change all the animations.
Lets be honest I’d rather pay to have my minions work right, half the time they just stand around doing nothing or lag behind when your running so they’re often late to the fight. So please Devs spend what little time you have fixing them first before changing their looks
I find it interesting that this was suggested a week ago and it went nowhere.
Yet this thread suddenly boomed.
weeks?…..try months, i already suggested this months ago and it was kicked out of sight within a day…..
and i suggested this basically already years ago and nothign happened, and? Do i complain about it now? No…
I find it just nice, that the general idea has found back through someone else into the forum, that this stuff basicalyl hasnät been forgotten, that it could be a great chance for Anet to make money and to give us players at the same time a great new tool that makes it possible for us tpo get more character customization through Skill Skins
Obviously I am not the only player that wished for alternative visuals for Necro pets.
… or even other ‘skill skins’
I’d even buy a complete swap to Halloween skeleton visuals, without any further animations. To be honest I don’t even recognize the animations of the actual pets … and I don’t really care whether a hovering ribcage is animated properly.
I just considered another possibility. Maybe we can get a few different models with future elites? Imagine if future necro specializations also changed how minions looked.
It’s a less fun alternatively, but probably something ANet is more likely to implement.

In all fairness from time to time the forums tend to get spammed with the same topic over and over (i.e. expansion price reveal, dragonhunter name reveal etc.).

I dunno, with Berserker getting improved Physical skills, maybe Necro will get a future elite that has improved Minion skills. Which look better. And float so they don’t get stuck on the scenery. Actually, it’d be pretty hot to have spirits following around instead of the ucky things we have now.

Actually the Flesh Wurm IS a half-buried kind of worm zombie…
But still, yes, I would buy a character slot in addition and play as a Necromancer if all slots are taken until you could have a party of skeletons as your pets.
i support this =D
More supporters for Alternate Necromancer Pet Skin Packs and Alternate Magic/Effect Skin Packs plz ! :9
Legacy GW1 style minions would be a nice option too. While we’re suggesting skin packs, I’ll just throw in my old suggestion of WvW siege skins. Who wouldn’t want catapults launching quaggans?
Let them fix the AI first please :/

Uh.. last patch, just yesterday, announced that AI might actually have been fixed. >_>
I haven’t tested it though. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say.

It seems to be fixed. I farmed Cursed Shores for a few hours this morning on my MM Necro, and my flesh golem & jagged horrors attacked what they were supposed to, when they were supposed to. No more casually standing around contemplating life and scratching their behinds while I was fighting mobs.
And I am all for some means of changing our minions’ appearance.
mostly the AI seems to have been fixed
theres still a few issues where it gets stuck on stuff(let it jump off ledges plz!)
but for the most part, if it has a path to get to its target, it will go for them. no more sitting doing nothing.
if it is stuck on something(like a cactus….i kid you not) then it freaks out, spazzing non stop until it gets out. so it seems like the AI is doing all it can to get to your target.
and for minion’s appearances.
skeleton skins
also spirit skins(like kinda ghost like or phantom)
could also have a skin where its normal zombies, but they all have bunny ears, or little top hats
and i’d like to be able to name my minions (equip skill>right click skill opens window to place custom name> minion uses that name any time its summoned)

I like the idea.
Here they are!
And they are brilliant.
I really want to have them as my pets as a Necromancer!
I’m a little confused here.
Are you talking about a back pack skin (like where wings go)? Or for Anet devs to change necro minions to skeletons? Or for skins for necro/rng pets?
For the last one would it not be easier to implement entire new pets/minions?
A skin pack would be fine for the start – just naked skeletons with different weapons to represent different pets.
