Recently, I have been playing through Fractals. Whenever we draw the Uncategorized Fractal or the Jade Maw, it proves especially difficult to get through the jumping portions or survive the tentacles because there is constant knockbacks which knock us around.

Lately in WvW, I have also been running towards groups where they constant stacks of Crowd Control Skills keep making it not plausible to engage against those groups as well.

While admittedly, I have not spent much time in sPvP, I can see knockbacks being a significant problem there as well.

What I would like to propose is a duration-based boon which makes you immune to CC skills or knockbacks for a period of time. The duration would not need to be long, just a matter of a couple seconds could mean that fighting could become fun in WvW. It could mean that we don’t get tossed around in Fractals. Since boon something which many classes have, it could easily counter a short-duration of immunity to CC.

I really enjoy the combat system in this game and feel that this type of a boon would make it more engaging and fun to play.

Yeah, they should have something like that.
Maybe call it like, Stability or something. That would probably be a good name for it.

Would you say you want a boon that would make you more stable?

We have that boon, it’s called stability, it used to work just like you described, then they changed it so that stability stacked and acted like defiance and everyone was happy because CC actually mattered again, I really don’t want to go back to the old system where we have a boon that makes us immune to CC since that strips a huge chunk of the games combat system, stability is a common enough boon

I have to admit, the responses so far had me giggle a bit.

OP- like already mentioned there is plenty of things that make you invulnerable to CCs.

Stability is probably the easiest to use “all-rounder”.

I also use:
-Aegis: Blocks the next incoming attack- useful for well telepgraphed CCs such as knockbacks
-Blinds: I don’t use this one personally, but it makes the next attack miss. This would be used in circumstances where you can predict which attack will come next
-Stun breaks. Always handy to have. They often go paired with a skill that offers stability.
-Invulnerability: does what it says on the can. There are very few skills that offer this though.
-Dodging: once again, as long as something is well telegraphed or predictable, this one is very easy.

I don’t think we need any more ways to avoid CCing in the game. Adding anything else (like already said) makes crowd control a load of rubbish again. I find that NPC enemy crowd control is one of the only things that makes boss fights challenging and interesting.
