After read everyday the forums a question came to my mind. How many people are only focus to play the game and how many only read the forums?

In my opinion. There 3 kind of players:

Only play: this players only want to play the game, maybe new players, normally don’t care to much about what happens in to the forums.

Only read and post on forums not play: old players or those who need new content, updates, already have a legendary or just bored of game.

Play and read: players who play and reads forums (myself)

Basically I want to know how many people are only focus to reading, post on forums, the second option.

Identify yourself, comments.

Excuse me for my english

Same here. Though I also read form at home, I never play the game at work. It is impossible on a cellphone.

I’ll identify myself as the 3rd kind, player and reader. However i dont play this game as much as i did because i get feed up with WvW’s staleness and PvE does not appeal me at all in this game.

Same as well.

There seems to be a rash of “left the game and still come to the forums to whine, complain, be negative” people, though. :\

Me, too. I usually l read (and post) in the mornings and play in the evenings, although if I have time I’ll often play in the middle of the day. And read. And post.

Usually i only play, but in GW2 it’s play and read, which is funny. I cought myself thinking about it just recently. For some reason only in GW2 i felt the need to post something on forums, usually i just play, in other games. Like in WoW, there were a lot of things i disliked, and it’s funny how thought of voicing my discontent on forums never even crossed my mind. Ever. I don’t know, might be because i usually had something better to do, in game.

PS. Reminds me of joke. Forums are GW2’s end game. xP

Usually I just read the dev and patch posts, the rest is pretty much pointless arguing and hyperbole and it’s terribly tiresome to have the same convos over and over again or try to combat those trying to sell other games.

The devs have stated on numerous occasions that only a very small fraction of players ever post on the forums, reddit or fansites. I guess like most players, I mostly just play and love the game, only go looking for info when I need it

Oh and you missed the fourth type, “don’t play and don’t read forums”, although might be hard getting them involved too :p

Sometimes when I am very frustrated (for example after being camped at a vista I tried to get in WvW for map completion :P ) I can be pretty negative, and then feel sorry for it and stay silent (in the forum) for a while >.<

I use to play more than read, reserving most of my reading/posting for when I had time at work. Now I’d say I read/post more than I play, though overall it’s dwindling, reached my goals in game, not seeing much light at the end of the tunnel as far as new stuff to come in and challenge me in a way I find fun, so… /shrug
