I wouldn’t do anything I’m not already doing. There’s genuinely very little in this game that you can buy with gold, and I’m not particularly excited by any of it.

I’d be more willing to set gold on fire to run drop rate experiments; without worrying about cash flow concerns, I’d figure out the actual forge precursor drop rate, amongst other things, and post it on the wiki.

I’d also test the trading post, designing experiments to apply shocks to the system to see how it behaves.

I would by everything from the TP and than destroy it just to see what would happen to the market O_O

me I would just help my guild mates out with whatever they need. I only play for the fun and friendships that I make along the way,I have never been one to want to be an elitist in game its more about the great social friendships you make along the way and helping each other as you go.

I open TP and flip it into 2 milions:-)

I would give most of it to small guilds so they can progress in the game. I would buy all the precursors and legendary’s with the rest, and host scavenger hunts for them.

I would invest whatever is left into a private charity guild that hosts free guild missions.

I would turn it into real money and get banned for it and wouldn’t care..

I would outfit my characters with cool looking attire and buy them precursors (I would have plenty of gold to begin crafting legendaries, and that’s half the fun of making one). I would then start focusing more on the game itself and live the rest of my virtual lie without worry, riding off on my White Moa into the sunset.

I already have trouble finding ways to spend my 1k gold atm.. I don’t think I need 1m. I’d rather have tons of laurels.. If I have enough gold to deck an alt with full legendaries, I might buy 2 incinerators for an elem but that’s as much as I need gold for.

I’d invest, open up a banking system.
Create a freemarket.

Personally, I’d:
- Buy all legendary weapons from TP.
- Fill my entire bank with crafting materials.
- Discover all the crafting recipes of the game.
- Discover the maximum amount of character slots.
- Buy all the expensive TP skins of the game.
- Buy all the cultural armor skins of the game.

Now you know what to do with your next million dollar!

In four very devious steps:

1) Buy every precursor in the game, and hoard them, never ever re-releasing them back into the game.

2) Buy every ecto in the entire game – EVERY time they were posted – until Ecto prices rose to 2g+

3) Sell hoarded ectos sporadically to keep my cash flow high enough to keep buying more precursors.

4) Sit back and wait until Anet finally fixes the Precursor drop mechanism’s once they realize their entire economy, for once, REALLY IS controlled by a single player.

Then when the Dev’s logged in to post a “no one single player is in control of all the Precursors/Ectos, it’s various people” — I would laugh and post screenshots of my account filled with 300,000+ Ectos and precursors…

..and say, “Orly?”

Easy. Log back on once you can buy complete bis armor with money, outfit all 8 professions with it and start enjoying the game again.

I wonder if it violates my EULA, if I bribe the Anet Devs to institute “Guild Halls” that the small guilds could enjoy which do NOT require as much as ONE Guild Merit.

If there is any gold left after that, put a Guild Lawyer on retainer, just in case the above does not play out well

I would buy char slots, and make newbie chars fully outfitted in muted down legendary weaps and T3 Cultural Armor and never level them. Buy them Commander tags and just stand around.

Get 20 slot bags for all my characters
get all the bank slots
Give my guild leader a couple K simply because shes awesome
buy a legendary or 2
buy Gems up the wazoo before they get any more expensive

Craft my toons to 80 (i’m such a slow leveler)
Buy tons of tricked our gear
Unlock every dye
Fill my collectibles bank slots with 250 of everything for achievement…then give it all away
Mail 10g randomly to people who are nice to me
Mail 10g to every random player who groups with me to run some hearts/DEs
Buy all greatsword legendaries from the TP…and then just delete them (like lighting cigars with $100 bills)
Purchase the SAB from Moto and charge admission (easy money)

The few items I particularly want in game at the moment can’t be purchased with gold so it actually wouldn’t do me all that much good outside of maybe offering others extra incentive to help me out lol

Convert enough to gems to buy a few things off the market.

Spend the rest on every legendary I can get a hold of from the TP and give them all away to random folks in LA… under my personal new guild with the tag [RNG]

If I had 1 million gold I would log into my asura and stand near the mystic toilet and sing “golden ticket” and the “I want it now” song from the original Willy Wonka as I randomly mailed free gold to anyone I could see lol.

I can’t even imagine. I’d be able to fully gear all my characters of course, and that’d be the first thing I’d do, and after that, probably convert some to gems so that I’d have enough to max my bank / bag slots and maybe 10 or so extra character slots just for fun. Maybe buy a healthy reserve of gems since the conversion price is only going up. After that… I dunno. I don’t care about legendaries and I certainly wouldn’t want to manipulate the market or buy large excesses of materials or other things I wouldn’t need.

Maybe buy random items for people. Someone in chat mentions they’re working on a legendary and just needs the precursor still? Done. Someone sees my weapon and asks me what it is, then says they want it? Sure, its yours. Someone complains about needing another 170 Lodestones for that item they’re crafting? Well, you don’t need them any more.

Oh, and probably buy recipes for all the high-level food trays and start putting them everywhere. Such a nice idea thats rarely utilized because the darn things are so expensive to discover.

I do want to see what happens if you put 4 legendaries in the Mystic Toilet…

I would trow 1000gold into the middle of LA, so that everyone struggles to get it! At least this way we would have GvG content!

lol, always these ridiculous posts of people, that try hard to sound cool/funny when they think about it, how the only thing they’d do with alot of ingame money is to destroy the gam’s economy… sry, but I find these kind of postings absolutely pathetic and hilarious at the same time!
That such people just can’t answer in threads like these in a serious manner.

However, what would I do with 1 Million Gold in this game?

1. Turn enough Gold into Gems to buy enough Character Slots, so that I can play all classes with all races.

2. Turn enough Gold into Gems, so that all my Characters will have maximised Inventory Space

3. Turn in enough Gold into Gems, so that I’ll be able to unlock for my account fully all bank space slots

4. Buy for my Characters all the needed armors, weapons and upgrade items to equip them perfectly for their various kinds of builds

5. Buy all colors for my characters that I want/need to color them as I want.

6. Buy all Minipets, that are buyable.

7. Put in at least 200 Gold once into my Account Bank for the achievement/title Gold Hand

8. Maximize all the crafting jobs for my primary played characters

9. Turn in enough Gold to tun it into Gems for stuff like back item covers ala Quaggan/Charr or other stylish town clothes

10. Keep enough money left over for a later upcoming housing feature

11. Buy for characters where I want them to have legendaries for their “style” the weapons

12. Give some money to friends

But when i think about all this, i wouldn’t need 1 Million Gold for all this to do.

If I had 1m gold, here’s what I’ll do. I’ll buy alot of precursors on the market and try to help people achieve them. They can buy precursors from me at a much lower rate (from 600g down to 200g) assuming that the precursor is all that they need to finish the legendary. As a legendary holder, I know and understand the frustration it comes making one, especially the RNG on precursors. While I have been lucky in being able to buy chaos gun cheap during the karka event, some people were not so lucky. The point being is that I want to reward people who put in the time and effort to make one. I understand this will probably inflate the market as more goods are being bought and there will ultimatey be less supply in the market, but realistically speaking, legendaries are all gold and material sinks anyway, so I’m hoping it balances out.

Then I’d start a guild with all the people who got their legendaries this way and call it Welfare Legends =P

Or I could just do it like Oprah, buy a couple thousand rare mats on TP (lodestones, ectos, etc) and say “YOU get an ecto! You get an ecto! You get an ecto! Everyone gets an ecto!”

All while providing communal boosts and banners in all wvw maps for my server

I’d purchase the armors I like best for my characters, as well as provide each with the best weapons possible. I’d purchase all the mini pets possible. I’m sure that would cost me a minimum of a million gold.

Unfortunately each of my level 80 characters are only sitting at 8 gold and do not have any of the appropriate level max gear or armor. Oh well…I can dream.

Sort out all my toons with legendaries, then give the rest to the guild to equip everyone with legendaries

Aside from maxing out my invo slots & character slots – I would buy all the charged lode stones I could (250) to make the Infinite Light sword.
Then I’d by the Kudzu for my Ranger & one of the Underwater legendaries for my Ele- because I love underwater fighting & she’s OP in WvW in underwater lol…….

Then I’d give enough to my sister for her legendary- since outright buying it for her would be a major waste since she’s already halfway.

Buy Eternity and absolutely annihilate the gem market. That’ll teach those people who make more money than me IRL! :P

If I had a million gold I would buy out every one of 1 item. Then completely change the price, just so the threads about market manipulation could be true for a week or so. And it would probably be ectos, since that would cover other threads as well. And then i would come back here and be like “Your welcome”, and wait for the hate mail :P
