Infinite light Mat Statistics
Grind.
Funny though for a game without grinding to get something you sure gotta do that frequently.
Ok so im trying to build infinite light, i tried a while ago to no avail, now they have tripled the price of lode stones making it harder, i have almost no gold, but 100g worth in charged lodes(28). I say i need to make 10g a day to make 5 lodes a day to make 35 a week to get 250 in 2 months. I didnt account for the orichalcum ore but that seems realitivly easier than the lodes. Is my plan full proof? flaws? easier way to get cores and lodes? Any tips are extremly helpful the more the better.
farm orr temple events/champ trains….i know i get a ton of charged cores from Dwayna chest (and champ bags during event chain….and in general from killing champs everywhere)….or do the world boss tour every day and sell your other cores/lodestones/t6 mats and buy what you need.
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
Grind.

meh…only if you want a legendary weapon skin. ascended armor/weaps aren’t that bad unless you want multiple sets quickly (the time gate actually makes it so you don’t have to grind for ascended gear…because you can’t).

Last i checked there’s several skins in this game that are not legendary that take near as much gold to obtain. Like the aforementioned Infinite Light, Mjölnir etc…
There’s 0 reason for this aside from the artificially low drop rates on lode stones.

How Much are we speaking in cores? i do coe p1 and p3 every day and buy cores and make me into lodes, how many do i get from dwayna other suggestions is the Orr train worth it?
You could also try farming during sandstorm in Dry top. Mostly the dust mite farm and Haze events. At least I’ve got lodestone more frequently as drop from these than anywhere else in the world.
When I built my Infinite Light I farmed coe all paths every day, as well as my usual dungeon tour. You won’t get them all, but you will get a decent number as drops. In the end you will have to buy most of them. I promoted cores to lodestones (not the best use of SP, I know, but turning SP into gold takes time and I don’t have that in as much supply, while I do have 1k+ SP). I’ve made Sunrise (100 lodestones), Infinite Light (250 lodestones) and most recently Azureflame (100 lodestones); working on Twilight for Eternity now, but after that it’s time to go full kitten and craft Mjolnir (350 lodestones…). There should be collections for lodestone weapons…

GW1 supposedly had no grind aswell..
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
If you run all the dungeons each day you can make about 50g (if you’re a thief/guard/mesmer you can really speed up runs) – remember to salavage and sell anything Cloth or Metal.
farm in dry top, those enemies there i heard drop with good chances also charged lodestones.
(ninjaed by Ameepa)
Otherwise as it has been said, you can also farm cores to turn the cores into lodestones.
Farm dungeons, its the easiest way to make quickly gold, which you can then use to buy off lodestones from the TP.
Salvage every yellow that you get to sell every ecto plasm to make also with this gold with that you can buy lodestones.
On the other way Ihope Anet will make theo ther lodestones in the future also more valuable, becasue then you could go and naturally sell lodestones of other types that you actually dont need to buy this way also lodestones that you need.
Currently way to much focus on charged lodestones only in my opinion.
The solution to this really couldn’t be simpler.
Steal one from the next harpy warrior you see. Job done.

HUGE difference in a Cosmetic Grind and a You Have To Do THIS thing 5000+ Times in order to get something that you MUST have in order to do certain content. GW Has a VERY tiny gear curve. Infinite Light is almost a Legendary because it requires a Gift of Light. You never, ever NEED Infinite Light. Its an Exotic.

They should make Charged Lodestones savlageable from Dark Matter, the same way that you can get Pile of Crystalline Dust from Glob of Ectoplasm.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

Skill Points. It’s how most lodestones are made.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Charged_Lodestone#Recipes
2 Charged cores
1 Bottle of Elonian wine
1 Pile of Crystalline dust
1 Crystal (purchased with skill points)
i am so super glad i got my infinite light a year ago.
so to recap
- do Crucible of Eternity (CoE) everyday.
- Dwayne temple and Lyssa Temple events for a chance at cores and lodestones in the chests
- farm the dust mites in drytop because they have a higher chance of dropping cores and lodestones (higher then temple of Lyssa mobs)
- the lightning mobs at temple of Lyssa have a chance of dropping cores.
- do dungeon runs to farm up gold to buy them.
Grind.

No level grind, but definitely a bit of a gear grind, and especially a cosmetic grind.

Thought on arah as you have crafted it and seem to know how to farm, ill take what you said as a schedule. I am planning 5 lodes a day

I don’t think it’s a drop rate issue. More of the fact that too many things rely on charged lodestones and ignore the existence of the other ones.
As for current prices. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spirit_Crafter is probably a big factor. That is 500 charged lodestones total
Then we have Acolyte of Dwayna which is another 200 charged lodestones total for each of the bows.
GW Has a VERY tiny gear curve.
But GW1 also had faction titles that improved PvE specific skills.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I farm sparks at the steps of Dwayna’s temple, across the way of Dwayna’s temple there are air elementals and sparks you can farm as well and there is a section of steps near Arah that has sparks as well. All of these have a chance of dropping a charged lodestone. The biggest problem farming them is the longer you farm them the more you’ll likely get diminishing returns. So farm them for an hour tops then move on to something else for the rest of the day.

Dust mites gave much better results. Unfortunately they are only around for limited times as well.

Never doubt that those are in the works. There are plenty of ‘sets’ in the droppable and craftable exotics.
Grind.

It’s called an optional aesthetic – and a high rarity one at that.
It would be perfectly acceptable for this thing to require two years of grind. Why? Because you don’t need it at all. It provides you with no advantage in any way, shape, or form.
Grind only contributes to a game’s design philosophies if it is a mandatory part of the player experience.
Personally when i made infinite light (around the time charged lodestones were sold for 3,20g) i never bothered with going straight for lodestone drops, i just farmed all the easy dungeons a day and bought cores/crystallines dust which i promoted later to lodestones.
Well almost all.
I tried to farm the sparks outside of gates of arah for a bit, but didn’t found it efficient (got <10 from there).
I also had like 70 charged cores from when i was farming the FGS train
So my advice is to just forget about the drops and speedrun all the fast dungeons (including CoE) and just buy the mats.
And stay away from harpies.
Seeing hordes of trash mobs holding the 1000+ gold sword that you farm hard to buy can be kinda demoralizing…
Speaking about it, why in God’s name freaking harpies in queensdale hold this thing? I would be ok with perhaps a fractal mob, but harpies in queensdale? Common Anet you are just trolling now.

but they can drop vials of powerful blood ….
The necromancer you can recruit on a charr character as part of the personal story dual wields a pair of these.
Just play the game and save up don’t go out of your way to find the mats. Over the course of 20 months I’ve made frostfang and infinite light through buying the materials. At the same time for dwayna wings, bow, 7 80 characters, numerous ascended, rank 65 PvP, 12k Ap etc. I’ve never grinded for anything. Just happened to play the game, be patient. You’ll have much more fun 20 hours a week doing whatever you want than monotonous farming.

Ok yes that does make sense, i cant get spark from forge but thats another story, im trying to build infinite light and then incinorator thats my goal but itshard to get the pre and these cores, these tips are amazing by all of you btw
It took me 8 months of scrimping, saving, and playing A LOT to make my Infinite light.
Low level fractals are decent – more lodestones drop in the 4-9 range than above or below that in my experience.
Crucible of Eternity any time and every time you can.
You WILL be on a first name basis with every Spark in Orr from all the lodestone farming you’re going to have to do. Grab Orichalcum nodes while you’re there too, though that’s a relatively minor requirement in comparison.
Lodestones are almost always over priced – buy the next tier down and combine them yourself.
I also found it handy to have a Harpy Warrior mini… that way I could summon it at any time, look at Infinite Light’s shimmering awesomeness, and remind myself why I was jumping though these hoops.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
Honestly, if you want it in less than six months, you’ll have to run dungeons or TP.
There’s just no way to efficiently farm lodes off open world enemies.
I think mine took less than a month, running around 12-15 paths a day (made sure to hit up CoE if nothing else.)
Lodestones are almost always over priced – buy the next tier down and combine them yourself.
Please remember to factor in the costs of forging two cores into a lode. People can’t really put a given price on laurels (or skill points), but Mystic Binding Agents are one way; the other is Elonian Wine which is 25s4c per forge.
When you add these factors in, buying cores to convert to lodes might be slightly cheaper in the long run, esp. when making something lodestone-intensive in the recipe like this, and Mjölnir.
I still believe the recipe for this (and Mjölnir) requires too many lodes; if they cut the recipe down to size to something more reasonable and achievable then topics like this can be avoided.

I like that idea ill try the low level frac thing i also have a buddy giving me his cores from wvw so that will help
