This is my favorite event, I’m waiting a whole year for it. Hope it won’t collide with HoT release.

Of course there will be, why would they stop all of a sudden something they have been doing for the last 7+ years?

Halloween and Wintersday are GW1/GW2 traditions. So, I’m fairly certain both will be back (again) this year.

Almost certainly, even if it is a rehash of last years event (which was also a rehash of the year preceding last year) there will be a Halloween event.

I hope so. I missed the last two Halloween events after absolutely loving the first one and I will be crushed if they don’t have one this year because of HoT.

I’m sure they will, but I strongly suspect it will be identical to the last one, which of course was identical to the one before it. The first Halloween was awesome, second one was good too, 3rd one was a complete disappointment because it was just a rehash, 4th one ???? please be different, or at least mash the first and second together.

Puking on him was sadly the only part I enjoyed last year, since it was a repeat of the year before.

I think it will depend on when HoT is released. If HoT is already out, then it will be a new celebration, somehow tied to/promoting HoT. If HoT is not out by then, IMO it will most certainly be a re-hash of what we’ve had before.

even if it’s the same I am looking forward to it. the halloween events are easily some of the most profitable holiday farms that come around.

And all these items in the gem store! I want that Bloody Prince Staff so bad!

I hope it will be back too! I got here in late October so by the time I had everything sorted out it was gone.

I’m also hopeful about this, but one thing to think about is they literally cant copy and paste from last year. Lions arch is totally revamped.

They can’t even keep up with gem store updates they are so far behind on HoT… what makes you think they will have time to implement an entire festival?

I would expect a gemstore sale with Halloween items and nothing else.

I meant the events like Labyrinth and the Bloody Prince lil instance.

The Mad King fight was so much cooler IMO from the year 1 Halloween.

Yes, but it’ll probably be a repeat of the one last year . . . and the year before last . . . with some minor Candy Corn sale items. Better than nothing, I suppose. And probably in Divinity’s Reach’s Crown Pavilion à la Wintersday.

Why don’t they re-open the first years’ Halloween stuff, minus the exclusive items? Don’t say it’s for the sake of story consistency, because as it is now Prince Thorn doee the same thing every year as it is.

So disappointing, that’s for sure, but far from a disaster, IMHO.

Since Halloween takes place in LA and that’s been rebuilt as well as all the NPCs we encounter may or may not need their stats and builds updated, wouldn’t that mean that Anet would have to pull people off of HoT to get it ready? Just wondering… not to mention all the holiday window dressing for the new buildings… <sigh>

sorry but i must distress this, i do not! want to see a freaking repeat like last year because lets face it, that bleeding felt like gw1’s current atmosphere with the constant none changeable content yes i know anet don’t do anything for gw1 now but come on….an ever changing world yet there is just no change what so ever in Halloween? really anet? HA its not like your doing anything important like HoT because you give us no info on “Hard Mode content”AKA “more challenging content” sure yh adventure system but thats not appealing, we have had no word of dungeons, no word of anything else that could be hard content in the title, so please do us a huge favor…..make us “your humble servants that pay for your games!” feel fulfilled and make sure we get to physically kill mordrimoth not a silly bleeding blow to his neck with a pitiful last encounter with a airship turret like with zhitan because i mean? really, I’ve had more exciting content with a nintendo DS for Christ sakes XD

Anet wont release anything new. Except for something on the gem store, cause that’s what this game has become :P. they might MIGHT add a new mini for cobs but unlikely. they’ll just reprint the same kitten they have done the past 2 years.

Keep in mind, Wintersday used to be in LA too. And this last one was in the Crown Pavilion. So I fully expect Halloween to be there too.

I’m pretty sure they’ve indicated that they moved Wintersday to DR because it’s a humancentric holiday. Halloween events are more universal, so it stands to reason that they would still be held in LA.

Wintersday was moved to DR because LA was in horrible state for a celebration events. come next festival I think they will be back in LA.

They probably will have it. Sadly though, it’ll probably be regurgitated from last year. This in itself will be disappointing for me. I loved the first year. The event where you had to go all over the place and learn the history of King Thorn and get his back piece was fantastic. I would really want them to do something similar this year. But with HoT being there main concern I won’t be surprised to see last years events again. Sad panda is sad.

Last halloween they said they were too busy with LS2 to do a new halloween event. Of course, when we saw the LS2 content, we asked why it was so sparse. Later they said it was sparse because they were focusing on the expansion. Six months after announcing the expansion we still don’t have a release date and the very likely occurrence of there being another repeat halloween event.

Even so, I bet money they’ll have it in the Crown Pavilion. But we’ll see in a few months.

Seems to be the only thing they’re consistent about. And there needs to be a decent sink for all that candy corn!
