Killing the veteran Karka in Southsun Cove will get you shells, you could probably get away with just buying them though ^^
there are probably cheaper ways to level your crafts… karka shells expensive.
heres a good website
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
Thanks for responding so fast. As for buying them I have bought 10 of them using all the money I had in the game. I haven’t even started doing dungeons yet because most people are wanting to paid to help out. Headed to Southsun Cove already and have 3 shells already lol but still needs a lot more. Thanks again saved the links that were given.

Most dungeons don’t have runners selling the paths — that’s only Arah, really. It’s generally easy to form a PUG so long as you start one with your expectations (even if that’s as simple as everyone is welcome). I’d be willing to take you one a couple of dungeon runs so long as you’re above the minimum level for explorable.
Karka shells are almost certainly not the cheapest way to level crafting, and if 1g is all you’ve got you should focus on equipment to make PvE easier/faster (or practicing in PvP for rewards there).

You may want to focus on harvesting until you have more money. You can make about 20-25g per day by hitting all of the spots listed here:
http://dulfy.net/2012/10/03/gw2-cooking-material-farms/
Kill all mobs between the waypoint and the farm and harvest all resouces that you see, salvage all loots and then sell all crafting materials on the TP.
(Except those you need, of course.)
Some areas will be impossible until you gain some levels, however. But this will also net you alot of experience. You will reach the max level within days.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

As a general advice, if you need to know something about an item/location/etc. in game, you can use the /wiki chat command. In your case, you just need to type /wiki karka shell in the chat window and it will open your browser on the related wiki page.

I wouldn’t recommend leveling crafting with karka shells as it is far cheaper to do it with any other t5 mat (I’m assuming you are trying to level it to 400). If you don’t see any other recipes to craft it’s because you haven’t unlocked the recipes from the crafting vendor.

I know, seems weird, but seeing as there are plenty who farm shells, the wiki would’ve been fixed by now… Or so I think, it could be wrong.
Easiest way to farm these that I’ve seen (aside from the karka events) is to get ~5 people and kill veteran karka as they’re guaranteed to drop one shell. Obviously you’d kill any regular karka along the way too.

I spend too much time farming in southsun. I can confirm that non-karka enemies do drop shells. I’ve gotten them from the skelk and pretty much every other type of underwater enemy around the island. Pretty small droprate though, if you want karka shells kill the karka (thanks capt. obvious) and do queen event whenever you can.
some servers actually have Karka vet. trains, just hop in, you will get a lot of shells per hour.

Do you know any EU servers that do that? I would like to try once or twice, since i never did it before.
Thank you all for replying. Everything is helpful and have saved all the links that were given. I am already at lvl 80 but just have been going through trying to complete the map. Just started PvP ( I am horrible at it ) but it’s fun trying. As I said have just been winging it since starting the game with no idea what the heck I am doing but seems there are lots to learn but that’s ok loving the game so it will be well worth it.
