Q:

Anet. I have no suggestion on how to go about revamping the party system, namely when it comes to inactive party leaders in instances, but it needs to get revamped lol.

Party on boss fractal —> Party leader went offline out of nowhere for 20 min+ --> We decided to kick to replace —> Whole party kicked out of the fotm instance after kicking.

/shedsmantear.

The road was long for us to get to the boss too.

This is the most archaic, stupid system they have in this game.
Last night, in fractals at the 3rd one, instance starter decides to leave mid-boss fight. No reason, fight was going well. He just said he had to go and left. The 4 of us were all booted out. This is a game-breaking mechanic. Its happened to me so many times now that I’m on the fence about just uninstalling the game until they fix this. As someone who enjoys dungeons, this issue breaks them.
I shouldn’t have to always start my own instances when there’s one in the LFG already almost full. I shouldn’t have to worry about joining said groups for fear of a huge waste of my time at the whim of the leader going offline on a whim or going AFK when he’s needed to progress (this has happened in also fractals, when all need to press okay to proceed – we sat for 20mins waiting and finally risked kicking him. We all got booted. )

I really really REALLY think you should look into this ANET. As am I, have also struggled when our main person decided to rage quit the party by going offline and we were so close to beating the new boss; we were basically sitting ducks. I’m very upset because we’ve come so far and only ended up having to leave since if we kicked the main person out, we’ll also be heading out. It’s a waste of time overall when we’re achieving nothing. If you can just fix that problem with the party system, then that’ll be great for everyone that doesn’t have to deal with the main “rager” or the “i gtg/went offline outta nowhere etc” people.. I’m trying my best to be positive about gw2 but so far it’s leaving me in a disappointed situation where I feel that I’m going to step down this game until you guys fix this. For example: You guys just released the new fotm & the story, yet the story mode itself has no wp.
Until you guys can fix the party system that applies to dungeons, I’m not gonna bother. It’s just not fair for the remaining party to get dragged out of the instance because of that one person. (that happens to be the one that started the dungeon).
It’s like “Oh, I’m dragging you guys down with me, toodles!” leaves party or goes offline . I find it rather selfish; it’s unfair for the people that needs to complete their dungeons achievements or w/e their reasons are.

By the way, the daily gardener achievement is glitching! Can’t complete it! Everyone in the map chat is letting me know about this problem too.

Sincerely,
Your disappointing fan.

This entire game feels like a giant beta… look at the newest patch there are bugs galore. The new Story fractal the only way to rez is to log out and back in.

The Auction House looks like World of Warcrafts Beta from 2003. I cant even search for a single item I have to search for general categories. Unless your looking for back armor then u gotta have a name.

They wonder why the game is slowly losing people and sales. Its time to take it from BETA and start making a decent product worth playing.

Please find a solution to this.

Here is one: An instance is created when one a party forms. The instance is destroyed when ALL members leave the party. If a party never disbands, warn the party members of the instance will be destroyed. To continue using instance, vote to continue instance. Perhaps a MAX time limit is impose.

This is horrible mechanic that needs to be removed. How did this make it into the game? I can’t believe there are not more people complaining about this! On top of this, I’m pretty sure there is no way to tell from the UI who the party leader even is. This makes kicking a DC from the party feel like a game of russian roulette.

Ask every one who started the instance. If no one answers. The person offline is the leader.

Is communicating with other players so hard?

But yeah. The mechanic itself is silly.

You do realize you wrote disappointing, do you? :P
I guess it’s not that simple to fix, else they would have done it long since. There have been complaints since last year (2012).

Hello peolpe. The best way is very simple. Create two party systems, one leader kickable other not. Activate/deactivate on option menu. When someone invites you can see if its “party leadered” or “party”

What you think?
