The warriors were elitists kitten drowners, from what I’ve understood.

I suspect they also use the easiest possible builds and methods to farm, that when those are fixed, they leave GW2 for good, because they say “We can’t play this game, since you nerfed my build”.

Form your own group and ignore the elitist speedrunner/goldfarmer morons.

Stupid elitist people who think they are the best actually suck. They want to speedrun a dungeon in 10 minutes instead of 11. They are saving 1 minute. Which are making them look like giant kitten kittens.

Ranger is awesome in the traditional faceroll pve, i.e. dungeons…

Silly warriors. They could have used your ranger specific buffs. I’ve had my thief kicked by 4 warriors before I could even enter the dungeon (party had no class requirement btw)… silly warriors lost DPS. A lot of people don’t seem to realize that A: Bad warriors are still bad, their class isn’t invincible and B: More than 1 warrior is usually a waste dps wise do to the fact they are in the middle for damage and 1 warrior can bring all the damage buffs since it doesn’t stack. And for those saying the survivability they have allows them to do more damage, not true. I’ve played a pure DPS thief and ele and I can tell you in a speed run (heck, even in a group filled with people in defensive gear) it’s not that difficult to survive and dps if you know the path. A lot of rangers do seem to just sit back and use their bow though, even when it’s safe to melee… so nobody really gets to see what they are truly made of. Perhaps if more rangers adopted speed run tactics more people would accept them.

I never farmed AP, but it’s an indicator of me having played since beta. Also, you know nothing about my gameplay, so why the insults?

You joined a party saying ele warr guard only as a RANGER. And you expect them to let you join only because you have 14k ap? And get insulted that they only had 2k and kicked you?

I woulda kicked your ranger kitten out too.

You joined a party asking for ele, war or guard and you were on your ranger.

OK first thing, did they say they only wanted those 3 classes? Because if they did, you shouldn’t have joined. You said you have 15k AP, so is it ok to say 2k AP is too low? You’re basically saying they should accept you because of your high AP but it’s a case of your prejudice vs theirs. You don’t determine another person’s group, this isn’t kindergarten where everyone has to play together in the sandbox. You can always get your own sandbox and group of people. The next thing…most rangers are terrible for pve. Bearbow rangers are everywhere, very few seem to use the spotter trait or carry melee weapons. They didn’t kick you for any personal reason, so don’t take it personally- we’ve all been kicked for 1 reason or another and we don’t make tons of topics because someone didn’t want us in their sandbox.

I wouldn’t use AP as a measurement of skill. In most of my own dungeon runs the people between 1k-3k AP have often proved more skilled than the ones with over 5k AP.

But yeah, it’s very sad how much profession matters to players. Personally I don’t kick people unless they’re rude or don’t put in any effort whatsoever. I’ll say this though: too often I see rangers that refuse to swap off longbow even when asked and stand far away from the rest of the party. I feel it’s the same as with thieves: too many thieves are dead half of the dungeon so it gives the profession a bad image and the good players get kicked out of parties before they can even enter the dungeon.

Ele-War-Guard have the best group synergy skills so it became the meta quickly.

It’s a design flaw that could have been fixed if Anet released new skills as they promised.

and people wonder why I say people are rude in this game….should not matter what class a person is people should let everyone play and not be plain out right bullies when it comes to someones class. So someone is not as good at the game then you…get over it and stop acting like yer “god” of Guild Wars 2.

Exactly the type of attitude nobody wants in their party. Ranger or not.

Ignoring group-specific requests is just asking for trouble, even if they are dumb.

Other than that, most players will always opt for the path of least resistance. And currently that involved Guardians, Eles and Warriors.

Topic: Just like the picture says: “Ignorance”. Start your own groups or search for more class-friendly-groups. I have over 18 k points, 19 characters, Rank 80 PvP and only join teams without any requirement. Even terms like “exp”, “fast”, “skilled” in the LFG-Tool are contrary to me. I like playing with casuals and people like me. This is my style, and I am happy with it.

Does it really matter? Let people play the way they want to play and that’s that.

They did the right thing. Ranger is terrible for dungeons, even with their damage buffs they have low dps and slows down the group. If they melee, they are squishy and still lower dps than war.

ps. More than one warrior lowers group dps is a myth. Try playing with real warriors with axe/mace with 10% faster attack trait

I’ve seen 14k AP rangers still using their ridiculous knockback to whack things 30 yards out of the aoe stack on cooldown and terrorizing the group with poor pet management. I don’t think Anet intended rangers to ever be seen as a viable PVE class because they gave them so many abilities that make group PVE overly frustrating just by having a ranger in the vicinity.

Theres some truth in this but its not always absolute. I’ve seen a cleric/knight’s gear rifle warrior in a level 20ish fractal once :/

Anyway it saddens me that stuff like this happens, but if they really are a group using archaic party organization (guard/war/mes) then they’re not worth your time. I get a lot of kitten from warriors because I main ele in dungeons. They don’t know that ele is pretty much the top DPS in the game (this is proven, in part due to conjure, in part do to fire staff) but they also provide insane utility. I’m tired of warriors saying that ele has the lowest DPS when I play full zerker fire staff or S/F-LH or even D/F with conjures for fractals. Just yesterday I had drama with a 1.9K AP warrior (I have 7K) in a level 23 fractal. He freaked out when I said you could use the ele’s earth elemental to block old Tom’s porjectiles by standing behind the elemental and bursting him down, and after I showed him it worked, he said I had crap DPS, no AR, and that I was a noob ele. I even died because he made me type during this fight and he gave me more kitten for that. Needless to say he was kicked (apparently he tried to kick me to, but the more rational people in the party sided with me).

Anyway, rangers are 100% fine with me as long as in content thats not faceroll easy, they stick to their dungeon running meta, which it seems like the OP sticks to. I get more upset when I see GS mesmers in melee range (sword/sword or pistol and sword/focus is their meta) or condition necro when dagger necro actually has good single target DPS (but pretty much no party utility, which I can live with in a PUG if he’s doing decent-high but not low DPS).

Not limited to rangers sadly. If you’re playing one of the classes that doesn’t have a proper burst build option or has trouble removing conditions from itself in PVE it’s been the same old story for a very long time now.

Engineer, Ranger, Necro has been discriminated against on a regular basis. Do they hear their players about it? Nope.

I have lv80 guard, war, and ranger, but main ranger in dugeons ( masochism maybe, but i just enjoy the class dynamics more ) and i almost never like having a ranger in party that’s not me.

Why?
Assuming equal skill and knowledge across players/classes:
Ele: spam conjured sword/bow, press 5 and you’re already credit to team. You can go afk now.
War: just faceroll the keyboard with a GS equipped and you’ll serve fine your role
Guard: a little more tricky, but they’ll be spamming boons like xmas even if they don’t want to
Ranger: Use GS/S+WH, run the ONE and ONLY meta build (frostspotter), use the right pets for the situation, do a correct weapon/pet rotation, time your dodges and weapon evades or get 1-shotted etc….if you dont, one of the above ^ classes will be much more useful to the team. Guess how many players play the ranger like that? i’d say 10-20% of the population max

That’s a gs warrior. Also sustained dps is better than burst dps with long cooldowns. My point stands.

Warriors are op on both pve(zerk) and pvp(hambow cc spam), why should they need rangers if they can insta-win with this combination?
P.S. I have a warrior too, but only use it for pve because of elitists. Sadly, you can’t play the class you want. Some classes are garbage in people’s eyes.

And where do you need sustained dps? In fractals but not in dungeons. Your DWA warrior is a dps loss when you already have one and anyone wanting to make a run as fast as possible should never accept 2nd warrior. That’s a sad truth.

Also, long cooldowns? Are we talking about warriors or something else now?

I’ve never had an issue getting a group as a non-favour of the month class, it’s just that much easier on Elementalist (or Warrior, Guard, what-ever is favour of the month according to people) why would I bother?

The key is making your own groups or atleast avoid groups that aren’t asking for something you don’t offer. Be it a certain class or anything else, whether it’s reasonable or not.

Group was not looking for a ranger and specifically said so.
You joined as a ranger.
Group kicked you, because you know, they didn’t look for a ranger.
You come here and complain on the forums about being kicked for being a ranger trying to join a group not looking for one at all.

Wut?

In all honesty, this happens in every game. No balancing is perfect, so you always get classes which are wanted above others. Well, unless you design your game like TSW where there’s no classes (or the game just has one giant class, depending on how you look at it).

The pic is a little off, because Mesmers are were 1 of the 2 classes that could CoF P1 farm back before ANet changed up the rewards.

In my PUG experience there’s a low chance ranger-led parties will even fill up.

Not saying OP has a case, but the meta is undeniably stupid, lazy and impatient. I wouldn’t be surprised if that group waited 5-10 minutes longer to get the party they wanted and the 5th they picked up ran conditions.
