Hm. Excuse me.
Golem voyeurism.
Edit: Fun Fact: I logged out after taking the first picture, and was logged back in where my harpy was (ie. on the inside of the window.)
You will need postprocessing on if you want to see the glowyness, and the vibrancy is enhanced with sweetFX (I’m not asking you to replicate it.)

Well your screen effects are certainly prettier than mine, but found the spot!
I think it’s time to head somewhere that doesn’t look like jungle…
(and I love this thread, even though I haven’t had time to actually find all these great locations that have been posted!)
Hmm – did the thread die out? That would be sad, cause this is a neat activity, and it’s given me a chance to re-explore some forgotten places and re-discover the beauty in the game.
I don’t think my location is too difficult to find. If I need to post a hint I will, but I have faith that someone can find it without help!

Hm. Excuse me.
Sorry, M8. I’m not used to forums and didn’t realize that your name on here = your account name. I cleared that up with the first guy who found my spot when I realized my mistake. I’ll remove that part of the first post.
The thread isn’t dead. It can just take some time for people to find your spot. Some of the difficult ones have taken more than a day.
Edit: changed hard to difficult because kittens.

Just an FYI: Account Name is the email address associated with your game account, and as such is never given out, as that would be a security issue.
Display Name is what you see in the forums and in-game, and all that would be needed to contact someone (on the forums or in-game, of course).
Welcome to Tyria! =)
Thread’s not dead yet. I was not looking forward to running around Ascalon for hours looking for random cliffside #34471, but then I noticed the upper right.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
Edit: added my screenshot
Its not hard to know where it is but can be tricky getting there

Its not hard to find, you can clearly see where it is but i can give some hints if you want
Iv been looking for the building your on or how to get somewhere upper. But havent found right spot yet. Did it require any speacial skill to get there, or did you do it with normal jumps?
As cool as the game is, part of what’s so interesting about this thread is seeing how different locations can look with different computers/settings.

Haha true.
I did use a few leap skills(savage leap)
all you need is normal jumps and leaps from weapon skills
could be tricky getting to the exact location.

wow… Is that some kind of Charr equipment that’s fallen into a chasm? I haven’t the slightest clue where this one is ._.
Wow… this is a really beautiful thread. I’ll try to participate later. Good exploring!
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

To Kaos.9162 : its NOT where i was standing
I suggest you delete your post(or edit it) to avoid confusion.
And like i said if you want any hints you can ask me in game or here but please do not post locations without confirming
(edited by jitendra.9830)
Jitendra is right. I figured it was just a different camera angle, but his picture is taken much further back than yours, Kaos. Jitendra’s picture is still the one to find.
Did i kill the thread? lol
Yeah, I can’t find a way (short of using lots of experimental rifles and trick leaps) to get to it.

I am about to go looking for it, but figured I’d ask first: is this a location that some classes just won’t be able to get to?
Edit: Found it, but I’m looking at it from the wrong direction and have no idea how to attempt to look at it from your angle >.<
Also I can see RoseofGilead staring at it :p
Last edit: Tried for 45 minutes using lightning hammer to make the first leap. I think I found the way to get to it, but can’t seem to do it. Maybe in the future we should not use locations that require special weapon skills.

well, most good locations need leaps to get there
well, most good locations need leaps to get there
Can you tell me how many leaps it takes? I’m still trying to figure out if I’m taking the correct route, or if I just suck at leaping.
it takes 7 leaps but some normal jumps can be easier if you leap
In that case, I think I’m in the right area but I hope somebody else finds it xD
I know the location as well and have gotten dangerously close, but because a certain leap takes me over the “Dead End Tavern” instance-area I get immediately ported to the ground. Been roof-hopping for hours.
As the amputated Sylvari said, “I’m stumped.”
another hour later…
Well this is as close as I can get. I found a shorter, slightly less frustrating way of getting there but it doesn’t seem to be the exact location. Jitendra’s PoV is a little higher, but I’m posting my attempt for confirmation.

very tricky spot you got there it’s extremly frustrating to try to get there but I think I almost got it

I agree! I think the thread is great for sharing and re-discovering the beauty in the game, and the joy of finding a great spot doesn’t have to be lessened due to the frustration of getting there. Good views don’t have to be difficult to get to once they are found – the challenge lies in finding them and then matching the point of view to the previous poster.
At least let’s make the spots so that anyone can get to them without any special skills/leaps/tools.
I feel that this little game has enough rules as-is, yet I’m inclined to agree. I’ve made it a personal rule to not require any leaps/items/etc in my pictures and just make the regular jumps difficult (re: my Griffonrook Run post), but I’m not expecting others to do so.
At the very least, I feel like an author should give us the courtesy of noting which class they used if they needed to use a leap skill to get to a location. For example, I know the Engineer’s Jump Shot can get to places even Warrior’s Savage Leap cannot. If some people only play 1 class and it can’t reach a given spot, I think it’s unfair to basically post a challenge they can never complete.
Regardless, it’s not my call. Just offering my perspective.

I think bladeRain got my location correct.
If anyone is wondering where it is, its on top of the wall behind the dead end

Good idea,i will add it to my future posts
Man, I didn’t figure it out in time. Oh well. On with the next one!
Yay, I’m glad someone was able to get there (or close to it). I’ll start it up again with a new one.
Love this thread! Found the spot and following is my entry at one of my favorite spots in game due to the view.
Rule 4: Do not post a picture unless you have solved the previous one or there have been three votes agreeing that the previous picture is unreasonably vague.
From the OP,it was BladeRain’s chance to post.
Its already done now but please remember this in the future
