Lets discuss: The PvE Content
I should say, this is my take on it.
- I’m personally more for ANet to tweak their mechanics and make it better rather than wasting time on temporary content that for the last half year hasn’t intrigued me, or they could cut the short stories and put more time and effort into these story arcs and how they’re presented within the game actually making them worth playing.
I feel that a lot of resource have gone into making zerg like content and festivals.
- Tequatl is a nice addition, revamping dungeons is also a progression towards improving the actual game.
- But what is the opinion of the players?

- I expected ANet to add more Dynamic Events and content in their Open World and work/tweak mechanics within this first year and have some story arcs like the Lost Shores.
October release added quite of new Dynamic Events in the Open World. Unfortunately there have been some issues with those:
a) Few players recognised them, most players encountering them would think that it’s an old event but for some reason they’ve never seen before
b) None talked about them, anywhere. For all the problems of the LS, it is at least causing discussions, good or bad. The Dynamic Events went by unnoticed and quickly forgotten
c) Most of the new Dynamic Events they added were “normal” ones, not group events with Champions or loads of mobs spawning, the kind of event the majority wants for the quick loot. I must say that some of them are way more challenging than others, even without having Champions. This means reward-wise nobody wants to do these events
Overall, it seems like Anet devs decided that adding new “random” Dynamic Events wasn’t something that offered enough benefits for the amount of trouble they require to create/maintain.
They did add a lot of DEs early on but it wasn’t met with fanfaire. I didnt know they added them in.
Instead, we have mini games, and a snails pace release of dungeon revamps and world boss revamps.
I’d like to see more events that matter. Let fort trinity fall if the players don’t do the events. Let the risen take sparkfly fen if that happens. Let that spread up to bloodtide coast. And if no one does those events to retake it? Let lion’s arch fall.

No tolling of alarms? +1 to anyone who gets that
I would prefer less zerg lootfest events and more story driven, interesting events that are more akin to quests. I’m a little over killing wave after wave of mindless mobs to fill my bags with useless vendor trash.

it would be interesting, in the living world, to see evolve fortress trinity. To establish real bases.
To add areas under water, or the coast, in the mountains Deldrimor also …
can be the jumping with new possible actions. (crouch, climb ladder / wall)…
Add Dragon, or Dragon’s champion! Epic battle! New races, research customization for all breeds strength to cross in triplicate.
For me, a living world, it is also that being who grows.

People carry on with their daily lives unaware that in a short while, everything they have ever known will come to an end (for me this is the mindset of GW1 – I think they had something of their own there, and I don’t understand why they didn’t build around that and expand it with a better game engine)

Indeed. The game doesn’t have any objective.
Personally, when I played GW2 for the first time, I enjoyed the Dynamic Events (and I know they added some new ones, but it was so early on that no one seemed to notice) but I also realized later on that they needed more of them and improving them (Nebo Terrace and the Giant in Diessa Lowlands spawn incredibly quick, so the impact a player or players makes on the world doesn’t seem to matter, really. More DE’s for variety and only destroy the towns between some hours instead).
- The problem for me is that all the stuff that needs improving is put in the back, as though they are satisfied with the way things looks right now. I need to see them change their narrow mindedness and looking at all that the game needs them to fix (Dynamic Events and PvE content, but also more PvP modes for the PvP’ers, I know you guys have asked for that, and though I’m no PvP player I would be glad to see them taking these corner stones more seriously in terms of improving and expanding them).
- I don’t mind new features and such every two weeks, but the story suffers (I don’t care about webpages and interviews. It’s IN GAME that the story telling matters) and it would be nice to see them using their resources more effeciently to provide a much superior gaming experience.

You forgot that all the mention they got from ANet was a one liner in the patch notes that also kicked of the whole Halloween event.
Btw, ANet have recently been pointing out that the event teams are not the only ones working on the game. There are perhaps 15 other teams working on various short and long term changes to the game.
I am going to defend the developers here: it’s asking a lot. Give them time guys. The best thing is to help with focus. My vote is guild halls. But I am for anything they bring.
