Legendary SoloQ
Liadri Vs Teq & Wurm
Legendary SoloQ
Please design more Liadris, less Wurms.
You can even name the boss Scarlet if you want. As long as the fight is half decent.
You haven’t yet realised that the GW2 pve is garbage, and that it will never change. Play WvW, or another game, really.
I have completed Liadri for these very reasons.
I still have not completed Teq to this day. Not from lack of trying mind you.
I won’t be completing the Wurm and Giant robot. No thank you. Not again.
Liadri was fun, Soloing Lupicus is also fun, Anet please give us more cool solo content.
wich add some title. I also feel exhausted from zerg runs even so the Marionette event is genius i love this as a guardian and Tower defense fan
I always felt like that solo arena could’ve been an avenue for people to earn Ascended gear. The way people could watch you and cheer you on was a nice touch as well, and kept in line with this idea of a social experience.
Raiding w/ your own guild is better than raiding w/ random pugs……
Liadri was the epitome of bad design.
Liadri was the epitome of bad design.
Elaborate, or your statement is worthless.
I want more options. It’s okay that there are open world bosses, just don’t force me to do them!
I want instanced modes for killing these bosses, at my convenience, not at some silly timer that requires you to go into overflow 1 hour before it even spawns.
Give us:
- SOLO MODE
- PARTY MODE

I’d wager that Axialbloom.8109 didn’t like the camera during Liadri.
On topic, love the marionette, don’t care for the wurm event. Who’s idea was it to say:
1) this event will need to have so many people battling so many minions that you won’t be able to see the gound!
2)Let’s put RED CIRCLES OF DEATH all over the ground!
In this game, these two things should be mutually exclusive. Whoever put them together gets not one hundred, but one THOUSAND lashes with a wet, pixelated noodle!
Eventually they will realise that coordination being required when you cannot control the participants is horrible game design.

Raiding w/ your own guild is better than raiding w/ random pugs……
This.
Liadri is the best of the 3.
Winning or failing depended on your skill not some random clueless rallybot pugs.
Wurm/Teq/Marionette is not based on your skill, but others as a whole. I could be the best guardian but if I had a bearbow ranger in my circle then I’m equally punished.
At least with Liadri you are in control of your destiny.
Liadri was awesome… I always imagined GW2 bosses to be like this before the launch. Instead, we got dummies with millions HP and stacking damage tactics.
This will always be a challenge for “Open World PvE”. Liadri is similar to an instanced dungeon or instanced Personal Story, meaning, only you controls the access: i.e. start and end.
For controlled access, players still have access to dungeons and FotM. But again, for OPEN WORLD (keyword: open aka public), I agree with you, that Anet should at least consider the chaotic nature and lower the failure rate, aka, be more forgiving for mistakes. Because if this continue to happen, players will just “game” overflow to make it their “instance”, which defeats the purpose of the event being OPEN, meaning: for everyone else.

I love the world bosses and definitely want to see more from Anet. That said I have nothing against them adding more content like Liadri.
Liadri was awesome. These fights are awesome two. We just need more of both.
Both times I’ve seen it the group went splat, but I really like the Marionette fight. The different paths and coordination required made it feel “tactical” enough to be a refreshing change from the “hit the million HP boss” variety, but still doable enough to not feel disheartening. Though this is only my experience from doing the fight two times. I’d like to see something done with overflows though. It’s a perfectly good concept for lots of things, but sometimes doesn’t really seem to work out with world bosses that require both numbers and coordination, like this one.
That said, even on overflow there was plenty of organisation and the battles were well fought but just not enough to down her, very likely because it was new to everyone. Haven’t had time to check the worm yet.
I like the Tequatl fight as well, though in that one the timer and (apparent) dependance on certain people to do things perfectly while at the same time affected by server lag make things a lot more daunting. I haven’t even been able to complete it or even participate it more than a few times, since even on my populated server the fight is mostly deserted.
I loved the Queen’s Pavillion fights, unfortunately back then I didn’t have the time to progress past tier 2 or so, so I never saw Liadri. They really should bring those fights back permanently, that was amazing fun where my success or failure depended only on my own skill or lack thereof! :-D I’d like to complete those challenges in my own time, rather than only getting 2 weeks or so to be able to. I don’t need a title or reward for it, I just want to see if I can play my class well enough to do it. ^^
Personally I found Liadri the most enjoyable, but Teq at least keeps you awake a bit more than the other world bosses.
Dps Cheque is the flavor of the month though.
I just remembered that I got an opportunity to mount the turret during Tequatl, and it was amazing fun, because I finally had some responsibility, actually pretty big one, and it felt good when we succeeded, however I failed to save some unmounted turret from AOE, so we didn’t get the achievement
It is a shame that there are no instanced raids like in other MMOs. This game has so much potential, yet Anet refuses elitism on this level which is kind of weird… it wouldn’t be hard, nor expensive to create skills for commanders which would allow them to open raid group with UI and open and lock their own overflows.
I dare to say there is much more people who would like to see this, than play easy-join random people with who you have no connection, nor you will make some.
Neither encounter is difficult.
Quite the opposite actually.
The mechanics are as straight forward as you can get.
BUT:
The problem is Anet keeps designing content where the entire “difficulty” curve is trying to organize 60+ pugs or people you have never met.
Last I checked I did not buy a Human Resource Simulator. I bought a mmorpg. I have absolutely no desire to try and get 60+ pugs to work together to beat content which gives me little to no reward minus achievement points.
Content like this should be guild / instance based. It’s annoying and quite frankly becoming painfully obvious Anet hasn’t a clue on how to design viable PvE encounters.
The more content like this they release lately the less interest I have in this game.
Loyalty To None
Actually, they have a clue, but they keep testing/trying out this new experiment of putting everything into open world so they create one large community on each server. But it just doesn’t work, it never will and they have to realize that numbers of online players farming for AP and waiting for bosses to spawn doesn’t equal to completely satisfied players. Gameplay is almost boring, I play only because of the atmosphere and beautiful graphics… and because I would like to grind out my ascended armor and legendary GS
They should have put in more options for those who hate zerging though.
I loved Liadri. It was so much fun. =D That and the Clockwork Tower thing were my two favorite additions to this game.
Zergs like Wurm aren’t as fun for me… in fact, it most feels like I should be watching tv or something while I grind out that event. Too many people, not enough individual stuff going on… just point and shoot.
Liadri was the epitome of bad design.
It has its bads of course, like for example bad camera angle, the dying part and having to walk all the way back, or zergs constantly dropping the F word (fps). But overall, as a boss, it was pretty legit and fun.
Legendary SoloQ
Considering the horrible camera issue during the giant marionette fight in the little circle arenas shows that they didn’t learn from their mistake in Liadri’s design though.
When I saw that awful camera beating me in the face when I was near the wall it reminded me of Liadri and it made me /facepalm. ;/
They’re pretty easy fights though in comparison. Unfortunately I can’t kill them all myself at the same time so I’ll may never see the event succeed. o.o

Agreed 100%.
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
Only reason I stopped doing Liadri for that final hit-her-with-orbs achievement was that Quagkitten walk back up. kitten, that was horrible. Otherwise, loved it.
Definitely could use more solo/controlled group content that isn’t interact-with-object-on-ground achievement. I have serious nostalgia for the days of farming the Molten Alliance facility.
I don’t completely hate open world stuff, mind (on the contrary, I love excuses for tons of loot-bearing mobs), but updates have been lopsided in favor of it. I never played GW1, but I know people could complete pretty much any content solo with NPCs, so it’s understandable that they’d be kittened about having the focus shifted to chaotic public brawls in the supposed sequel.
I want more options. It’s okay that there are open world bosses, just don’t force me to do them!

Thanks to the gin I just purchased all of my instances tonight will be in party hard mode
and then right before falling asleep I might get in a quick solo hard mode
I agree with the OP. In the Liadri fight, the outcome was 100% based on my skill. With the new mega-bosses, my skill counts for less than 1% of a successful outcome. I’d like to see more encounters that emphasize personal skill over personnel skill (woot terrible joke success!)
Seriously though, a fight where the majority of the challenge lies in getting pugs and server guests to follow your plan is not all that interesting, IMO.
and then right before falling asleep I might get in a quick solo hard mode
:P Solo hard mode could be Liadri difficulty. What about that? O_O
i will admit though, one of the main reasons i did liadri was the bragging rights with the mini, which i dont even use…… i wanted Teq mini but since it is based on RNG on top of the aforementioned issues with overflow, people afking near the turrets making champions spawns on them and destrying it, commanders who wont tag down or get on TS and then people who simply bring their low lvl characters there to level them up and dont even bother to get on ts or follow instructions and…… sigh, just…forget it.
More Liadris please, less RNG.
