We really are in an entitled era it seems.

Its not about entitlement, its about still having a feeling of progression even if its a false one.

That seems entirely pointless, you’re just lying to yourself.

The previous system acted the same, there was feel of progression but there really wasn’t one. What we are talking about is returning that and signifying it with something. 2 lumps of coal. People would then flash stacks of coal at each other and laugh and have fun with it.

The mastery system is so boring. The only thing it really felt that massively changed anything was the glider. The rest of abilities feel like QoL (quality of life) gated mechanics that feel rather pointless. The problem is that it defiantly hits a wall at the end when there is no more masteries to obtain. No matter how you look at it. It’s obviously left in a broken state. Yeah, the visual representation of XP you earn feels like a waste. In all honesty I believe in a reward system like infinite bonus map rewards loop should be there. There should be more rewards for playing the game. Instead of logging in and out for the daily log-in reward system.

representing an xp gain visually but then not applying that xp gain to your character is is a poor design oversight, at the very least the game should not show the xp reward. As has been discussed before, allowing the xp gain to loop with a small reward at the end even if its simply contributing towards titles should be there.

hey so you already get about the same amount of spirit shards from the game as you used to by getting exp. theyre just now in the form of tomes of knowledge and you collect 3 or 5 stacks in your bank and never use them.

thread is asking for extra things. thread is not asking for things we had and lost.

Meh wish it was a system just tied to exp and not points as well, well not so many points anyways. I’m not an achievement hunter, I don’t enjoy repeating story events(especially ones I can’t skip the cut scenes) to get achievements, I don’t do adventures, I don’t mind points tied to boss achievements, but that still takes a lot of points away from me to want to bother getting.

Only thing I would need them for is building legendaries, so it’s just stuff for me to put off to the side and skip for now, maybe later on they’ll put in more mastery points in an area of the game I would enjoy doing.
