Mr Avatar, we all love this game, it’s because we care that we want them to address this issue. It’s a bag that is worth around 15 gold minimum. To many players that’s a big deal that they missed out. We want it straightened out. You are pretty immature to respond to every other message with taunts. Learn to keep your replies more productive.

Still no mail. Far Shiverpeaks (EU). I’m getting worried now. Who’s bright idea was this?

I can’t see what the requirements could possibly be.

I did the event in a group of 4. We did the event all the way through, all the phases. We stayed in the same overflow to do the final event. One of our number DC’d multiple times – one of us DC’d only once – the other two stayed connected the whole time. All 4 of us got to open the chest – the guy who was disconnected multiple times got a precursor. None of us filed a ticket, naturally.

Yesterday, one of us got the chest in the mail, the other three did not. I have no idea what Anet is doing.

I didnt recieve any chest yet. Do i or do we have to actually send them images, to prove that we were actually “there”, taking part at the event?

Just a suggestion…. maybe give everyone a 20 slot box and nothing else? It’s not as good as the original loot but at least everyone gets something useful…

This is the funniest part of the whole debacle.

They are giving away random shots at precursors… which sell for hundreds of gold.

They randomly gave some players 0 gold, and others hundreds upon hundreds.

Before that event & FoTM, gold wasn’t so common. Now, random people have been seeded with enough gold to buy multiple commander tags, just because.

Generally, if it wants to retain customers.

And ArenaNet has only 1 important metric – concurrent users. This is the only figure that matters to them, and they are willing to do anything to increase this figure.

If being fair, or unfair, results in more concurrent users, then you can be sure that is the way they will go.

I am wondering how they determined who was there and who was not. I’ve definitely been there but the game crashed before reaching the very final stage. I got back in as quick as possible and in that overflow everything was done, so was the next one, and the one afterwards. Eventually I got dc’d again and then I couldn’t get back in for more than an hour. Seems there was some odd criteria which did not make me eligible.

I’m not sure what causes you to qualify for the reward. One person who was in my group for the event received the chest. While the rest of us have not. Quite strange

Glad to see that the issue is being looked into,

This stemmed out from server not being able to handle massive amount of players, so next time please plan a bit better for these events. Also, I feel that it is extremely unfair some people got as much as 4 Karka chests now. They already got 3 from doing their original, plus 2 overflows. And they just received another one in the mail yesterday. And people who participated and didn’t get chest, still haven’t received, and they are at 0 chest.

Haven’t received mail as well, maybe it’s just taking so long.

Couldn’t attend the event at the start but later on i was "lucky"to get a word from few guildies about an empty overflow. So I’ve spent some time gathering players from LA and other servers, killed some hordes of karka, survived a game crash or two, killed some more endless zergs of karka only to get the terrible yellow words " New build available…".
So i wonder , can i get the shiny chest too, pretty please ?

What I’m curious about is the coding used to decide who qualifies to receive a chest. It seems that some people who got multiple chests during the event are getting another and so are people who weren’t logged in at all. Seemingly this would mean that everyone will get another chest. Is this the case? I won’t complain either way but it would be nice to know what the situation is. This code doesn’t seems to only be awarding player who participated yet got disconnected.

What I think is quite unfair is that this event, whether you liked it or not, was absolutely free, provided great rewards (if you got them), and was bundled with a ton of OTHER new FREE content.

NOBODY playing the game lost out on anything. You know what I think? I think Arenanet should have never rewarded anyone with anything because none of you guys appreciate their efforts. And every time they try to make things right, you piddle all over them (and yourself in the process).

I had a full set of exotic weapons/armor/trinkets for my latest toon before I even got him to 80 just from running dungeons every day while leveling.

The trouble with this one is it’s mistakes following bugs following errors following…

I don’t think any of the “moaning” is from anyone possibly thinking it’s hard to get gear in gw2. There’s so many ways.

But I also think if Arenanet had managed to pull off the consolation gifts, that would have been fine. Or like you said, just issue an apology, refer to their standing policy to never reimburse and leave it go.

I agree. It is getting a little out of hand in my personal opinion. But like they say, you give people an inch and they will walk aaaaalll over you. Its like giving into the spoiled child, one day you will have to put your foot down.

This isn’t a whine, I personally completed my event, got my chest I’m all fine. BUT, on behalf of some of my friends that don’t frequent the forums as much as I do I was just wondering if there’s anyone who:

• Got a chest mailed to them who is currently on Aurora Glade?

or

• Got a chest mailed to them on a European server?

I’m just wondering as I know quite a lot of people on AG and I’m yet to find anyone on there who got a chest. Has Europe not been done yet, has AG been missed or have I just not known anyone who got one?

(And btw, in my chest I looted a grand total of about 3g worth of exotics. I didn’t get a precursor, but I’m not sour, congratulations to all that did!)

I took an indefinite break from the game due to the Lost Shores Event. However, I did received my Karka Chest in the mail and I think that Anet resolved this issue sufficiently enough that I will return to the game at the Winter event. While I will not be spending money in the gem store for a few months (since I spent that money on other games when I did not think I was returning to GW2), I will be supporting GW2 again sometime next year if all goes well.

I get the sentiment, but I think it’s off base to think of patches and content releases in a paid-for MMO as “free.” These updates are free only in the sense that the car-wash I get at my garage is ‘free’ or the breakfast that comes with a motel room is ‘free.’ I have a receipt that shows it was purchased…

I hope ArenaNet is learning. Big one-date/time events is just not in their wheelhouse.

The cool thing is a player can quit and come back easily, see if it’s regained its lost luster. I really like that GW2 isn’t a commitment the way other MMOs often are.

Thanks for the response Gaile! I was just curious if the intention here was to send everybody a single mailed chest regardless of whether they got one at the event or not. I think you answered my question if I understand correctly.

I also would just like to say thank you for the time and effort you and the team has spent on this. It wasn’t required of any of you and is way above and beyond what we can typically expect as customers. My attitude towards any issues since release has been more or less “eh, whatever”, but by constantly making the extra effort for your customers you are all are making a lot of people very happy. Keep up the amazing work over there.

But I paid for the release content. And believe me, there is more in this 60 dollar game than the vast majority of console games of the same price (barring Skyrim, which in my honest opinion, got boring waaaay faster than GW2 due to it’s overly simple combat). Do I expect them to bring extra content to the game? Of course I do. They said they would from the beginning.

My point is that if you didn’t get what you wanted for your 60 dollars, you’re playing the wrong game. Arenanet does not OWE you free items, exotics, one-time events (a programmer’s nightmare I imagine), 20-slot bags, reimbursed in-game rewards, etc.

None of this specific content was promised to you when you paid for the game. There will be more updates, more content, more patches, more EVERYTHING.

Politely make the problems you had with the event and reward system known. Offer our feedback. Place a ticket. Appeal it if you think they’re wrong. Move on. Either to new content, whatever you were doing before you didn’t get a karka chest, or a new game. Whatever will make you happy. Just please don’t ruin the environment for everyone else.

I never cry for a item, also never for any item gc here. All i see that you all want items items items and more gc.

I want also , but the fact that we have to grind is so terrible and boring, i dont make dungeons i dont like it.

The event was good and bad, all new contents always have bugs and errors in mostly all new games, but well each person is a different world and who likes these other dont like it.

Just keep some calm.I only waiting for some new wvwvw and some new pvp content if they add on a future.

But well have a nice gameplay and wait till Anet fix and make some more updates to help the people.
