Mad Memories is back!
so i have candy powered matter meter, and the 4th and 5th npc won’t show up when using it.
still it’s strange that those 3 first npc show up to anyone, since you needed the candy powered matter meter to make them appear.
It’s strange that they showed up at all because this is a different map and it needed to specifically populated for the Halloween event.
Remember, when Mad Memoires was first released, Lions Arch looked a whole lot different to what it does now. Someone had to put these NPCs back in. Apparently someone who didn’t check so good what these NPCs were for.
I think they copy-pasted all the Halloween content over from the old LA map and then just adjusted the position of the mystic forge and some pumpkins that otherwise would have floated around somewhere.

It’sa shame I cannot get the back pack. I would have loved to get the skin. I do not see why the backpack couldn’t be rereleased…
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
omg, did i just miss it again?
i see it coming, next year page 4-6 and then 7-9.
… hopefully the LS-update is no already up when i get home from work…

I just wanted to post to say that I have submitted a ticket to support about this issue. Not going to state everything I put in there but I will say this much, the lack of communication on this issue was so off-putting to me that I did not participate in the blood and madness 2014 release. I hope an official response comes as to what is actually going on, probably just a bug. Anyway, since this thread really serves no purpose. other than to highlight a possible bug and ANET’s lack of properly communicating, I believe this should be closed. No point in digging up skeletons in the closet. I’m off to bed as I have to work again, have fun everyone.
Areneto:
Thanks for not including this object to new people. Chinese are the only new players.
What happened when there was talk about integrating objects from past updates again?
Aand the matter was conveniently ignored. Figures.

I feel dumb now because I honestly expected some sort of statement on this.

I have the impression it is the company’s policy to leave you in the dark, than deliver pre-known bad news. The answer was there before Halloween went live, but maybe you’d be distracted, maybe you’d just forget, who knows.
We now can tell it was “NO” all along.
Dont take him serious anyways, hes just a selfish person (in my opinion), who would sell one’s own grandmother just to stay a special snowflake in a video game like GW2, which is all about fashion for everyone and not just only for him personally.
He doesn’t care about it, when hundreds of thousands of players couldn’t earn an item in GW2, due to being forcefully interrupted from working on that item due to being account hacked.
I don’t know, how people can just be so extremely self centered, that they even begrudge anyones dirt under their finger nails to give some virtual content just so much value.
If the Mad Memoires would be no Back Item (Fashion), but instead like an accountbound item for the personal Home Instance that lies just somewhere later in your personal House or so, i could understand it as a sign of beign there 2012 Halloween.
But it is not, its part of the game’s overall fashion and fashion , regardless of what it is, should be for everyone permanent accessible, also if that means just to wait on some special holidays yearly to be able to work on those fashionable items at all, until you reach the point, where you have earned it.
As said, it absolutely makes no difference at all, if a person does a specific task that is the same task later in the year 2012, say 2015 (now) or even alot later.
as logn everbody has to do the same task to be able to earn the same content, it plays no role, in which year you successfully did the task.
After this year I don’t set my personal hope up, to ever see the MM again, which is for me just heartbreaking disappointing, given the fact, that I never really had the chance at all to earn it thanks to that dumb idiot which hacked me two years ago and took from me away by force my chance to work on the MM in time (may that person rot in hell!)

It is a shame given we got to redo the 2013 content and given the wardrobe malfunction of not unlocking it despite having to pick it up first in order to get the complete edition; it would’ve been a nice addition.

Yeah. This whole thread is just depressing.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Finally got an answer from support:
Hello Robert,
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.
I understand your concern about this matter and I’m really glad to know that there is people like you who still cares about the communication between a game company and their players. We believe in this as well.
Unfortunately, the support team is able to provide much information on the topic. We focus on helping players with their accidents and mistakes that could affect their experience rather than provide information on specific areas like Lore, or background story of the NPCs. Our official Wiki can provide much more information on this subjects.
Regarding your question. The development team would be the most fitted to answer it. They could provide information, or at least a hint about what is going on there, and if this was planned or not.
Keeping a forum thread alive is the best way to reach the development team’s attention. They read the forums daily, and although they usually cannot respond to individual suggestions, the fact that team members can review those suggestions in a public forum helps them gauge the level of interest in a particular idea, and also allows other players to discuss and offer feedback of their own.
I suggest to keep your threads alive and gather as much details as you can from other players. This also will help to the development team to have a better idea of the issue, in case they don’t know.
I understand if this was not exactly the answer you were expecting, but as I said, the support team can not provide information about this matter. But, please please let us know if you have any other questions we can address.
Regards,

This isn’t really the answer I was looking for, I haven’t responded back to the ticket yet but I don’t think we will ever know since the event is over with. This thread was kept pretty alive during the blood and madness event so it didn’t do any good any way. Hopefully someone sees this and can either take it out completely for next Halloween or fix it to where everything is working properly.
Unfortunately we do know they have seen this already. It’s just they didn’t intend to do anything about it from the beginning, it seems.

Never mind the fact that bumping threads for the sake of it is against the rules and gets you infracted.

So, I can’t get the Mad Memories back anymore, that right? It’s very bad! Thanks for the GW2! All Gone Now!!
(edited by KINGRPG.3492)
It wouldn’t work anyway, since the NPC we need to talk to as the final step in getting the backpieces is no longer available. I’m sure that the ghosts showing up is a sloppy oversight, as usual for Anet right now.
Thats my take on it.

Which is why I’m not posting too much any more, I really can’t think of anything more to add.

Woah:
I ask because it seems like she has chased a lot of stuff like this down. Honestly, getting Gaile to look into this seems like our best bet of getting a reply.
I can try. In fact I was writing a response without looking at the most recent posts. The fact that I can ask about this does not guarantee that we’ll be able to answer the basic question, which I sense is “Are changes coming for this situation?” right? But yes, I can certainly see if there’s info to share.
Well, since the event has already finished, we’re not exactly asking about the future changes. Just for a clarification about the past. There’s absolutely no reason Anet should not be able to answer.

Well, I replied to my ticket:
Thank you for getting back with me. I wasn’t sure what else I could say on the matter only that bumping threads for the sake of bumping threads is against the forum rules. Also pm’ing staff members is frowned upon. I’m not sure exactly what I can do at this point to be honest, it’s hard to just let something go. I just wanted to know if this was intentional or not. Is there anyway you could pass on this info to the devs that were involved in this and find out? Thanks again, Robert
Their response:
Hello Robert.
Thank you for getting back to us.
The Guild Wars 2 Support Team is unable to reach the developers for situations of this nature. For that reason we always encourage our players to post on the Guild Wars 2 Forums so our developers can review our player’s feedback or suggestions.
The developers team are constantly reviewing the forums. Even though you might not get an immediate reply to your post, they will definitely look into it.

So I guess at this point support was just a waste of time. I guess since Gaile is no longer posting here, we have no guarantee this thread is being read by the devs.
What I’d have liked to have seen happen would have been for a new version to be released with different coloured (probably green) flames. That way everyone could get the skin, but the original would still be “special”.
Basically, what the Fervid Censer and Desert Rose should have been, and what I really hope the trib mode SAB skins continue to be.
Actually giving items a degree of significance and meaning is a good thing. Recolouring them allows you to preserve that while still giving everyone the chance to get an item of that type and quality.

Well, it looks like this topic is dead. No response from devs. We might as well delete pages we’ve collected this year.
