Method to detect stealth: a proposal
Alternatively, bring a ranger.
Only the really skilled thiefes/mesmers are a problem. They can be a real pain in the kitten to fight againt. Then again – every skilled player is hard to fight.

sounds alot like battleship, cept with only one player trying to sink ships XD
Yes, because nerfing the hell out of two classes in particular is a good idea.
When you suggest a change like this, keep balance in mind, and suggest other things to keep the game balanced.
Or you know, lay down AOE fields which will damage them through stealth.
How about no?
We have two professions that can situationally counter stealth as is. My suggestion would be to modify the Necromancer’s Death Perception grandmaster trait to grant you stealth sight. A slight increase to power necro viability would be good.

Because you guys don’t have enough AOE already?
Nonsense…..how about we stop nerving thiefs already?
I know this is not supposed to be real life etc but being able to click all over every second sounds a bit like exploited game mechanics than using a skill or am I missing something here. If a character stealths of course you shouldn’t see him.
Pull out a gun, bow, staff, aoe skill, etc and hope to hit him/her surely.

I think a proposal won’t be a good method. Maybe some thieves don’t want to get married.
Alright, alright, perhaps there already are ways we can counter stealth and we do not need another one.
But keep in mind, I am going to play a PU, stealth Mesmer so I know this idea would interfere with my play. I just wanted to make running around in stealth be a little more realistic (clicking on the ground simulates you looking around and your opponent will have to be unpredictable).
And, this method will have a very small chance of revealing an enemy. Remember you’ll only have 2 or 3 chances (2 or 3 seconds) to click the ground before the enemy runs away or attacks you. That’s not that bad.
However I understand where everyone is coming from. This method would take attention away from using skills to punish stealth. Or it may upset the balance we already have. If ArenaNet implements this idea, they’ll have to keep things balanced.

Yeah, had enough backstabbing in my relationships.
badum tss
There’s reasonable enough counterplay for stealth, so I don’t consider it a big problem. Annoying for the impatient, perhaps, but not nearly as annoying as blindspam (but those !#$
#% dust mites) or the fact you can’t turn while immobilized.
The best stealth counter? Weapons that swing wide arcs. Decent coverage and no cooldown. I’m reminded of a WvW encounter where I couldn’t see what I was hitting, but I hammer-whomped the thief anyway.

That’s a good story. I’ll take your advice. And I’m glad that there is enough counterplay.
