Minis hidden on empty maps

Talk about mixed messages.
They are disabling minis periodically if the map gets full since they are still live testing all the new changes to server architecture. It should clear up in a couple days or so
It’s one of the announced improvements to the megaserver system. The idea is that people won’t end up abandoned on maps, iirc. It’s not a chicken little “game is dying” sign.
…but according to ANet it’s worked as intended.
I don’t care about minis but a friend of mine was really excited about the changes the feature pack introduced for them. He played for hours and the only place he managed to actually display his mini was a WvW map

the screenshot makes me sad ^^ “do you want to leave empty map” and at the same time “map is too full for minipets” in the chat hahaha ogod anet pls. just revert this whole feature pack (new TP can stay though), everything will be better that way
This was in the patch notes. If you volunteer to move to a more populated map, you get a couple of bonuses; movement speed by 15% (in PvE only), karma gain by 5%, and experience from kills by 10% for 10 minutes.
It’s strictly so they can reduce the number of maps in use at any one time, which frees up CPU & Memory resources for other stuff.
You’ll probably see this most often on maps that have World Bosses that spawn on them – You get 500+ people all decending onto one boss which opens up multiple (overflow) maps, then when the boss is over the maps empty out except for a couple of people who decide to stay (on that map).. So then you have 3, 4, or more maps with just 2 or 3 people each one them.

This is TERRIBLE. And I don’t see how this is intended at all. Please reconsider this. Why not just have an option for people to hide minis if they want? Why are you forcing all of us to hide our minis? I don’t want to hide minis, I don’t need to hide minis even in full maps. My PC can handle them just fine. This is really ruining the enjoyment of minis.
