Guild Wars 2

I do love the new armor set that has been released on humanoid creatures. It’s very pretty and I think a few of my characters will have pieces of it.

What I don’t like is the unisexing of EVERYTHING charr and asura get. If you want pant/skirts for anything, you’re in luck! If you want a SKIRT for either creature you’re choices are HUGELY limited.

And before someone comes in claiming asura are only academic and don’t care about clothing. Being a scientist doesn’t mean you don’t want pants/skirts/pant-skirts. It’s not an either or thing. Tons of scientists go to their JOBS wearing dresses and skirts and it’s not a big deal so why does it seem to be a huge deal here?

I want my asura to wear dresses. I have 3 options for her in that regard (two armors and an outfit). That shouldn’t have to be how it is. Enough unisexing. You can make feminine outfits for asura without resorting to sexy. Look at TA, look at wintersday, look at the winged armor.

This applys to charr as well and the infamous tail clipping and horn clipping that happens to that race.

It’s lazy, it’s rushed, and it’s kittening off a bunch of the player base. Take the time and develop NON-UNISEXED armor for both these races. Just because the artists/developers of these armors want to cut corners here doesn’t mean they SHOULD. It’s noticeable and it’s frustrating. I’m tired of this being ignored.

Guild wars 2 claimed that they built this game early on so we could play it the way WE want to play it. I want my asura to be tiny and cute and fluffy. I don’t have much to work with in that regard and that’s not right considering how many outfits/armors there are in the game to choose from.

Good luck Candy trying to get the game changed to suit Asuras and Charrs but i think your flogging a dead horse.
I’ve contributed to several discussions about this and to no avail.
I even put a ticket in today to get carapace armor changed lol, desperate measures.
Guess if we dont make a fuss nothing will change

I absolutely agree…I’m dragged back from playing any female Charr or Asura for the same reason. I don’t care what their races think about fashion and look I am to play them so I should decide what my Asura/Charr think about their look.. Q.Q Please ANet!

Well…just don’t. Ever. It will riun the way you look at this game. It is so badly made for Charr that thought it was some kind of joke. I literally laught out loud when I saw what they did.
So. Everyone out there without a Charr, in need for a good laugh. Create one. Go to the gemstore and view that masterpiece. Take a good look at the “feet” too.
It looks like a minion from a game in the 90s.

But still…there are a couple of armours that fit. And I don’t want to miss my beloved Charr.

I love the new Charr light armor… it shows that they can do it right. That tailguard is inspired and awesome!

But then we get slapped in the face with the tailclipping mediocrity of the Medium and Heavy! What the heck, ANet? We know you can do better, you’ve shown us that!

Please, go back and repair these suits of armor.

Seriously, does the person who designs Asura armor hate Asura and not want to see the race played? The armor for Asura is pathetic at best. I am so tired of being disappointed every time I see pretty armor, then see the same set on an Asura and see how ugly and ill thought it is.

Makes me sad when my Asura gets the male version of certain outfits :c

I am fine with the armor as it is but what bothers me are the outfits. I like that they distinguished between the genders in the winters day outfit and Halloween outfits in year one. But the newer outfits now revert female asura and charr into the male versions. I want to see my female asura wearing the female count outfit and not look like a butler.

Personally the fact female asura wear male armor is the reason I made a female asura. There aren’t really any armor sets where I prefer the female version but that’s just my opinion.

On a female asuran the Lich outfit has nipple clips. NIPPLE CLIPS. I’m sorry but she should have had a better shirt then that. That was a time when unisexing didn’t work as well as they wanted. A guild member actually had a conversation with a Dev about that Lich outfit and her 8 year old daughter with asurans. They supposeity don’t have anything YET female asuran underwear/swimsuit is NOT just swimming trunks. This same logic goes for Charr. IF they didn’t have private parts up there to cover then they wouldn’t be wearing undergarments/swimming suits that COVER said stuff.

This all screams lazy on anet’s part.

My Charr currently has Vigil armor because I can’t find anything else in game I really like for her. I hate super spikey stuff (reminds me of assassins in gw1). Looking at the new armor sets the heavy on charr isn’t THAT horrible. I wouldn’t be using those shoulder guards if they paid me to though.

Well I think Asura female don’t need sexy armor, but wearing same rags as males is dumb. The new set with a butterfly is pretty, then you see Asura, its a mummy wrap. Since this game seems to be about armor skins I would think they would hire someone more creative to make them for Asura. We seem to be an afterthought when it comes to creative design.
