As has been said in the countless other “mounts” threads, they wouldn’t serve much purpose here, and some races might look… odd… on mounts. Also the tensions between humans and centaurs might get worse~

Please anet sell us mounts… I want a mount I love them and they add such variety to the games there in. Plus you can sell them to us. Oh the broom and carpet don’t count. And yes a speed increase is also added, something like 35% the same as swiftness. I know some people don’t want them and I will hear them soon enough, but why not and don’t go saying “we have waypoints… No” I say so what. What if I want to run there on a mount let me. The only issue i see being a problem is maybe wvw .. Some one come up with a good idea for wvw and mounts at this moment I don’t know of any.
Mounts have too much clipping issues with capes, they said.

Mounts might be a problem with sPvP also.

But if you would get your pink moa, would you actually place a Char(r ) on it?

Gliders, which will only work in the map(s) with the three levels to them, requiring them as a mechanic for certain types of gameplay (and not just as a fashionable collectors item and speed boost). lulzlolrofl
Of course, it’s always possible that OP is actually asking for gymnastic equipment and ways to mount up onto the bars quickly rather than bringing up an old, tired subject for the Nth time.
I can see how it would be a problem in WvW, like OP said. There could be a zerg of people doing gymnastics there and an enemy zerg comes along and kill them all

That’s only the single-word ones though. In total, there have been well over 50 (I stopped counting a year ago).
I wish ANet would just make a sticky:

That would be hard. They’ve already added mounts to the game. Or at least things that act exactly the same as mounts in that you get a permanent speed boost that has absolutely nothing to do with your class/skills:

Nothing in a mmorpg is necessary.
Mini pets are not necessary either and so small you really can’t see the well enough to matter. If I had a choice between a player home, a mount and a mini pet it would be house → mount → mini pet in that order.
The point is mounts can add to the immersion factor. Same with player homes. Mini pets are mostly too small to matter or even notice in game. At least you notice mounts in games.

I disagree. Personally, I find mounts to be immersion breaking. The biggest problem I have with mounts is that they will add clutter (and lag) to the map. Too much stuff going on in one place; it is visually distracting. If mounts were added, literally everyone and Trahearne will be flying around on flaming horses of Balthazar, or tamed mordrem wolves, etcetera.
Heck, mini-pets are annoying enough already…
(I like having my mini-pet out, but seeing everyone else’s adds unnecessary clutter to my surroundings, even if they are tiny.)

even without swiftness you’re more able to cover a lot more ground by way pointing, on top of that its more crap the game would have to load in a map taking up player space in a full instance.
the hardware limitations alone would mean Anet would have to buy bigger servers and then next thing you know you would get threads asking Anet to remove mounts because people cant be in an instance with their friends because too many mounts at a world boss.

Then go buy a mount off the gem store. The broom is neat, but my bro loves the flying carpet. If you want to be sneaky, there is always the drill.
Of course you probably meant mounts that increase speed. Inn that case, look into the kites that drop from dry top chests, although their speed buff is pretty tiny outside of a sandstorm(in sandstorm 33% increase in speed iirc)
Or perhaps you wanted big fancy mounts that give a significant speed boost. In that case, use a waypoint. Seriously, there is like one every 5 feet, and the last thing we need is for zergs to be mounted.
