Musical instrument update (suggestion/idea)
I love music, especially guitar and piano, so i’d support it.
I like the sound of adding semitones, and now that there is an F5 keybind, I see no reason for there not to be (unless it would be too much effort to recreate the sounds on certain note pitches).
Also, any addition of new instruments is a plus in my book, though I expect them to be more Tyria-themed.
There is also an organ somewhere in Tyria (I forget where, perhaps Ebonhawke) which would be a treat if it were playable and adjustable.
Right, there is an organ in ebonhawke.
Making the semitones is as simple as doing quick notes in Ableton or whatever they use and saving them to wav files to play in game.
Tyria themed… The piano could be asuran tech, like a magic powered synthesizer.

i <FULLY>support the semi tones feature or another suggestion i have for the f5 would be to change the scale (hopefully with semi-tones already added to the list
like at least major and minor scales, i guess adding semi tones would be more abragent but i dont really play with macros so could be confusing for me expecially when im drunk ::)….. mmmmhmmm i ment happy… HAPPY!
anyway i AGREE! semitones somehow!
a synth! wellll…. this is about to become the 1st MMODAW isnt it?

I suggested the F keys for the semitones as on most keyboards these actually line up where the semitones would be found on a piano. F3 and F4 are sightly off center tho (F# and G#). Also its fewer sounds to program for Anet than what could potentially be upwards of 14 different “keys” to program if they shifted key with F1 and F2.
srry i didnt read ur post correctly, for some reason i understood press “f” keyboardkey + flat corresponding musical key….. happens when you spead read
yeah ur suggestion is much more interesting then mine, we can play “off” scale notes and make different chords that way and i see no inconvenient since we now have [f1 <-> f5], it would take the same “getting used to” as playing ele or engi.

People have been hoping for (and suggesting) this or variations thereof since the first instrument was released. I’d be equally happy with a modifier key, and even switching octaves that way would be nice. Hold left ALT for lower octave, hold right ALT for higher octave. Maybe hold SHIFT for accidentals. Alas, given that it’s been years I’ve stopped holding my breath for these kinds of luxuries. I must say, though, the ability to play accidentals would so immensely increase the experience of the instruments that I doubt many other features in the game could be improved proportionately with similar effort.
Plus we definitely need a Xylophon or marimba, a panflute and steeldrums for some tropical music.
I’d be in for semitones as well!
