My feedback
Umh, gw was never suppose to be like every other mmo, so theres that.
Do your research before buying the game.
I guess he doesn’t. But truth be told, soon he might get what he wants with all the progression initiatives Anet is going to introduce to the game.

Don’t get bent out of shape. No need to lay blame, or take any offense at all to what I’m saying. Don’t flame or derail this into name calling.
Like I said: I’m only leaving this here because I was implicitly asked for it… my opinions about why I don’t play and why I logged in to Lost whatever event and then quickly logged out again…. that’s it, that’s all. They asked, I am answering.
You have nothing to keep me playing. No PVE progression. No PVE dungeon finder. No real gameplay. Your MMO is nothing like other MMOs… and right now: I’m sorry to be the party pooper buuuut…. that is a BAD thing guys.
Yeah, because as The Old Republic has shown us, being exactly like other MMOs is a recipe for success…
Someone described earlier how MMO hoppers jump from MMO to MMO, without even trying to learn what each game is about, in a futile search for something that is a copy of the first MMO they have ever played (read here). The OP here is a perfect example of that – a minimum of research about GW2 before buying the game would have make it clear that the goal of this game was not to be WoW clone number 214.
This is the kind of player that will leave Guild Wars 2, no matter what ArenaNet does. Ergo, it’s exactly the kind of player whose opinion is worth less than two cents.

Again: no need to try to degenerate this thread into a flame war.
That was never my intention in my message. They asked, I provided. If they choose to not listen and not implement some type of progression, tighten PVP to something more… and implement some basic MMO features such as a dungeon finder, macros, and other items… then what do I lose? Nothing. Me, and other players like me, will simply not log in and not purchase any xpacs. And you, and players like you continue to live in your GW2 bliss. OR… they implement these items through following feedback like mine and get players like me back into the game… and get back our pocketbooks.
Having a PVE progression chain and dungeon finder really going to hurt you?
Telling me my opinion is invalid or less valuable is not asked, or necessary… you are just trying to incite and flame.

This is actually a valid point.

But they will lose us and out pocketbooks – the players who hate what you like.

Yes. And it already has.

Of course it is. Tell me, why do you think ArenaNet asked you to give your feedback in the Discussion Forum instead of just sending it to them directly by e-mail? Has it not hit you that maybe they were seeking other people’s comments on your ideas?
So, as asked by ArenaNet (since otherwise they would not have told you to post your ideas where people discuss them), my discussion about your feedback is: it’s horrible, and ArenaNet should not listen to it.
If you would like to read about how vertical progression is bad for this game, come back after you have read all of this. I would also suggest trying to learn how the forum works before making new topics in the future. Although I wouldn’t be surprised that someone who expected vertical progression in GW2 just jumped in the forum without trying to learn about it…

I don’t live on these forums. I was asked to… and provided a link here in the survey to give my opinions and feedback. I was not provided a link to any specific thread or I would have posted in it.
I’m sorry I have interrupted your obviously very serious MMO life and forums to offer my opinions.
It’s pretty obvious which side of the coin you are on and how venomous you are to defend what you perceive as the very best in what MMOs are about. (No dungeon finder… no macros… no current up to date MMO items… and of course: no type of progression.)
To you: it doesn’t matter if you are, in fact, a very tiny microscopic base of player type and when this game goes bankrupt or… instead opts to add items like I suggest to save the populations for this game… but don’t worry there actually are people who are rabid about anything out there too. You name it. Religion. Environment. Anything. There’s the far far right side and the far far left side.
How about trying to accommodate the middle to attract a more well rounded player base?
And acting the way you are right now: so aggressive and off the cuff is not championing your position. It just makes you look like you may want to strap a bomb on your chest at any moment. It’s that rabid, guy. Think about it. Do you think you are going to persuade me or make me push back twice as hard and just shut down any (possibly) valid point you may have? I don’t even care about what you say now to be honest… just because I wouldn’t listen to some bible thumper at my door trying to push through it with a scripture to my face… because of how rabid and in your face they are.
Just understand that you lose your audience even before your point is ever there to be made.

Actually GW1 didn’t go bankrupt. So why would GW2 go with the same community?

I guess it’s a matter of opinion on if the company wants to actually make money here or just happily lay low… never really making a mark in the “MMO” (it is what it was advertised as) industry.
Funny I got the 2 most hardcore forum lifers in my feedback thread. I wonder how good a game it must be if you guys are here forum-defending it instead of actually playing it.
On that note: I’m done responding to you both. It’s crystal clear what side of the line you guys are both on and that you would be unwilling to budge an iota on any single item. So you both aren’t even close to whom I was trying to voice my opinions to. In fact: the opposite of you is who I was trying to reach out to. Someone within the company who might think more central instead of waco-style… someone who might still be open to pushing for (at the very minimum) a dungeon finder for those who like to PVE. Hell… even just that might entice me back for awhile.

Nice. Well I can start name calling too. Anyway, I like how you deflect arguments for the discussion you started. You started a thread on the forums for the sake of discussing it, not going down one-way thinking street. But then again, it’s your right to censor. Same as Anet.
Oh and FYI, I stopped playing this game over a week ago, because of Anet catering to people like you and breaking their own promises, marketing and Manifesto.

Then….why are you still here?
Do you have nothing better to do with your time? Seriously, it’s like you broke up with your girlfriend and are waiting by the phone for her to call just so you can shout mean-spirited hate at her if she does try to call and apologize. Get up, go outside, maybe have a life or something. There are other girls out there.
I’m not trying to be nasty. I’m dead serious. If you’ve already moved on, then there is no reason for you to be here. Go find something productive to do with your time. I wish you the absolute best. But please leave this forum to those who still play the game and want to see it get better. It’s not here just so you can whine about how you’ve already quit and will never come back.
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

Two reasons:
First, forums are more fun than the game itself.
Second, I’m still hopping Anet would amend all of this crap that is going on.
Oh and I’m on the forums in my Dishonored breaks.
