Nebo Terrace event, more of this please!
Were you alone with the npcs when you did the event or you had a huge number of people with you?
Unfortunately the main problem with most events is the number of players, when the number of players is beyond a certain point, events are no longer a threat.
There are many challenging events in the game, even solo mobs can be challenging in this game, but good luck fighting them with a small group (or solo). My best example is EotM, EotM has excellent mob mechanics, both bosses and even veterans are interesting to fight, much more than mobs in other places. However, the number of players present in EotM make all fights trivial.
This “meta” you describe is similar to how Silverwastes work. We need more maps like SW in the game (except for the bandit chests part) and hopefully HoT will add more zones like SW to the game!
I believe Nebo Terrace is bugged. It never used to be like that. Although it’s been reported a huge amount via reports and the forums, I suspect it has been left this way because a lot of people quite liked it, partly for the reasons you stated.
I do understand your sentiment though and I think we will start to see this with HoT. Living Story season 1 had some examples of this as well with the invasions across the entire continent. That was pretty epic and good fun, despite the zergs.
I thought I read a patch note saying they’d fixed the scaling so large numbers of players didn’t turn Nebo into wall to wall champs, elites, and vets any more.
It needed fixing, too. Basically Nebo was guaranteed to fall after a protracted death fest for the players, followed by a ridiculously fast and simple re-take of the fort.
Unless it was very recent, it’s still bugged
It was March 16. I haven’t gone to see how it changed.

Adjusted the number of scaling spawns for the “Prevent the centaurs from capturing Nebo Terrace” group event to be less punishing for large groups.
Adjusted the start timing of the “Reclaim Nebo Terrace from the centaurs” and “Rescue the captured townspeople from the centaurs” events.
Increased the damage dealt by the catapults of Nebo Terrace to creatures. This does not apply to champion creatures.
Is it still insanely hard? I did this just before the patch and it was insane – it was sort of fun to be honest. But way out of place in that level zone.

Ah cool. Haven’t done it since that patch. Will have a look later and see how it has changed
What most people don’t know is that if that event FAILS, the centaurs will attack the main town. And if THAT event fails, they will take it over completely, and then there are three champs which have to be defeated to regain control. At which point the NPC’s have to defend it again, then launch an assault to take back Nebo Terrace.
Unfortunately, Megaserver completely disrupted these mechanics as the event chain simply never reaches the full failure state.

I would love to see this entire chain at least once.

This event is pretty intense, and I like it. Unfortunately it’s mostly a bust without a sizable group of people and decent coordination. It is fun strategizing with people though, and defending the catapults. I agree for the most part though, it’s fun to fail once in a while in PvE.

Kind of like the event chain at the Gates of Arah… I personally like assaulting it and taking it back rather then defending it. But, that’s just my personal preference.
As for the event chain starting at Nebo Terrace… Yeah, I agree it can be a wild event, and I personally like trying to hold it with other people.

Even with the zergs, I thought it was fun. It was a huge, intense, chaotic mess on the battlefield, and while it may seem odd, that was what I liked about those big invasion events.
Pity… since I doubt we’ll see those kind of things again. Too much QQ from people who want to solo everything or crying ’We’re tired of this! CHANGE IT!!’ :p

I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’

I love Nebo Terrace, I once suggested it to TTS a few months ago (don’t remember why we were looking for events outside of Teq/Wurm/Silverwastes) and it was evident that very few people tried it after it had been “upgraded”.
Listening to all those sudden cries of surprise, confusion, and delight when the stampede began still brings a tear to my eye.
