Sounds like (as many people were hoping) that the achievement skins will act similarly to the Hall of Monument skins. Meaning you get an infinite number of the skins which you can use to reskin items you already own.

Edit: Though this isn’t confirmed, it just “sounds” like it

? The achievement points are already account based, so why would the make bonuses only for a specific character? If they want to make us altoholics happy they need to make it so we can get those skins multiple/as many times as we want (like HOM vendor).

Here’s the thing. Try gearing more than 2 lvl 80s for pve, high level fractals and wvw (all require different gear sets, esp. ascended trinkets). I have 4 80s atm and even though I would like a 5th I have to stop so I can finish gearing all my characters. 2350 fractal relics for an infused backpack is a lot ~.~

I did. I have full exotic/ascended gear on 3 characters (Ranger/Guard/mes). My 4th 80 (Thief) has has half ascended trinkets but exotic everything else (Waiting on Valk stuff). I WvW with 3 of them (Ranger/Guard/Thief) and dungeon/fractal with 3 of them (Thief/Guard/Mes).

My 5th 80 will be a Warrior that will be given ascended stuff on the instant he dings 80.

All have had my time and love devoted into them.

Meh, I have 7 lvl 80s and all have good gear….although I suspect you want all of your alts to be at the highest premium for everything. There’s no reason I need all of my alts to be geared for high level fractals, dungeons, everything. I’ve got a money-maker, fun one, crazy one….they’re all different and I treat them as such. >.>

I hope the “new armor” described is really a new full armor set, not just new shoulder pads or new gloves. Those never fit properly with the great majority of armor sets currently in the game.

The screen shot on the event page of what I ASSUME is the radiant set looks to include gloves, shoulders and a helm. It is possible there is more to the set but they just did not want to show it all, but I guess we’ll see soon enough.

That being said, I already have an idea for a possible fit for my guardian even if it does only include those 3 pieces.

I hear ya, similar to the other (“radiant”?) armour – helmet, shoulders, gloves.
Chest and legs starting at 20k points – hehe, we’ll see.
Yes, I would love to see complete sets as well.

Edit: You know what else I would love to see? Profession sets – thinking of my guardian and the starter “ankh” themed shoulder and helm …

This…. It couldn’t have come at a better time.
I was just getting frustrated at not being around to finish out this past update and missing the one for next week too. (Have to go out of town for a few weeks). Not because I am an utter completionist but because I like the rewards in these two update rotations.
I remember the thread with Colin discussing rewards for achievements. And I have wondered how they would handle it without throwing a new currency at us.
And now I have a reason to smile when I return, instead of feeling that compulsion to hurry and catch up as fast as possible.

These blog posts are always a little vague and the devil is in the details.

Alright, another question popped up.

As you complete achievements and increase your achievement score

So, are some rewards tied to specific achievements, while others are awarded as your score progresses? Does it mean that finishing dailies and monthlies will also help you obtain some of these rewards, since they both affect your score as well…?

At the risk of getting in trouble for derailing the thread a tad… I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for magic find stats. I mean Colin was discussing this in a thread some time ago; about ways to fix the situation.
