It plays even in the home instance, and gets ungodly annoying!

I think you’re mistaken there.
It starts to play pretty much right away, but there’s something wrong with it. It sounds like it loops AND starts over, and slowly layers atop itself again and again. So you barely notice it at first, but it grows to this constant and senseless noise.

Yeah, it stacks in intensity over time. Starts off quiet, then builds up to 25 stacks of Skeleton Rattling madness. I reported it as a big yesterday.

Possibly a bug where the mechanical orchestra has a larger radius and overlaps itself? I’ll have a listen myself to see if it’s any different.

Yeah, it’s a bug all right. I remember hearing this noise back in LA (people in DR map chat confirmed this, too) before an after the update. It seems something was mixed up.
