Probably if you get some Tattered Bat Wings from Halloween mobs you will unlock a collection that will guide you. I’ll test this later today.

I heard through the pumpkin patch you get it started by doing the mad king says event and open that big chest in LA

bumping this for visibility so that someone with a reddit account can suggest using Gift of Ascension, its usually required for ascended items crafted from the mystic forge.

I don’t have enough fractal relics right now so I cant really test it out.

Bumping this to remind people that the Tattered Bat wings are a lvl 350 crafting item for scribing & that the missing mystic forge items are probably crafted with scribing.

So here’s the known things so far.

4x tattered bat wings + 250 mystic coins + 20 bloodstone bricks + 120 powerful blood = bat wings
Gift of darkness + Vision Crystal + endless bat potion + ? = (a)?
bat wings + Glacial lodestone + (a)? + ? = Nightfury?

Are these the same bat wings as the back piece?

I’m sorry, but why would the final step not be the one with the legendary and ascended items in it? I’m 99% sure that it goes:
Step 1)

EDIT: Also, seeing as no one knows what the ??? are, I’m willing to bet it’s something scribe related (compounded by the fact that the bat wings say “scribing” on them…)

Wish they’d made a cool questline to get the item instead of locking it behind a ton of gold to get. A shame really. It could’ve been like how they did the halloween backpiece in the first Halloween of GW2. That was fun to make/get.

So to recap we are still looking for the 4th item in the nightfury. Following links are screen shots of what is needed for them mins the 4th.

Guys… SOMETHING probably regulates whether the final item is light, medium, or heavy armor. Have you made Exotic or Ascended shoulder components to check?

Sinister shoulder piece specifically

insignia’s don’t work blah blah blah but Nightfury needs a base armor piece to go with nightwing

the next step is the darkness + endless bottle brew + vision crystal + the armor piece~

the final step basically adds the soul of the shoulder piece for the effect?

Gyve of Madness is probably the base armour that we need. You can see it in the wardrobe.

No one can figure the recipe out still, either it’s a special drop that takes a lot of grinding to get or it’s a crafted item.

Anet a clue would be nice but probably won’t get one. ._.

I think people have wasted like nearly 1k gold on trying to figure this out now in that reddit thread.

Ascended shoulder components (both, the liningand the plush, whatever they’re called in English) do not work. No matter if it’s light, medium or heavy stuff.

Just a note to the OP of the reddit thread, if he is posting here ( i dont have reddit account).

Sometime in the past, a bug occurred to me with the mystic forge:

It would highlight item combinations from CRAFTING recipes that i havent discovered yet through the crafting discovery panel.

If that bug still occurs, it would mean that gift of darkness/bat potion/vision crystal combo might be an undiscovered scribe crafting recipe.

Why would they tease something if it’s not in the game yet

It’s in the wardrobe, at least, I saw it yesterday when scanning for new skins. Whether it’s dropped, forged, or crafted, well, that’s the question.

Hm… With the hint to ‘How to train your Dragon’ and the picture a dev posted… it might be something to obtain in Dragon’s Stand from that shadow dragon (if it is even a worldboss – I’ve never been there yet)

If that was true however, we probably won’t need to hope to see thee shoulders before Halloween is already history again.

I liked the story riddle they did last year. Granted the dagger skin was sorta crap, they could have, at least, thrown us a bone this year with the limited time ppl have to actually enjoy the holiday combined with the HoT drop combined with hundreds of other new things to explore and expirements with. Instead of a fun adventure, it just seems like everyone is going ‘batty’ instead….

Yes, because ascended crafting isn’t a kittening joke when it comes to costs to begin with.

Still, as a holiday item, it should come from doing holiday things. Doing the achievements, playing the labyrinth, doing the jumping puzzle (how I loath this jp), etc. Not be something exclusive to people that can play for 12 hours a day and horde like there is no tomorrow.

From the sounds of things, only the bat wings are holiday related, everything else is grind your life away ‘normal’ play. And those are a time gated PITA or yet another gold sink.

I know how you feel. At least This year I am fairly confident I will get the crossing done!

I BET we have to kill that Dragon in Dragons Stand first.
ANd then let’s just hope it’s a guaranteed drop, not like the hoard on Teq, I did daily for 2 years without a SINGLE hoard… I’m not gonna do that again. For NOTHING.

I killed the Dragon yesterday Twice and except Ley Armor he drops nothing special that could be usefull for this :O

Will this ONLY be craftable during Halloween? Meaning, even if I have all the necessary items AFTER Halloween, I won’t be able to make it in the Mystic Forge?

I keep hearing people say that, but that sound ludicrous!

There is no indication that this is the case. The limited items are the tattered wings which will no longer be available as drops after Halloween ends. Everything else is still obtainable and the recipe should still work fine.

SIR we are talking about real life not petty pennies. We responsible individuals are busy and deserve an equal shot like everyone else and by that we mean more general information. The recent expansion is nice, the holiday season is nice and life is busy…

Its not even so much that. Its more that its more of a straight up gold grind as opposed to a holiday grind. Thus far, right now we have only the first step, and of the ingredients for that first step the only holiday item is the tattered bat wings.

While from past experience, I would also assume that the tattered wings wont be available anymore, as the halloween dungeon closes, I dont think Anet ever confirmed that. I wouldnt be surprised, if they add it as a drop after it ends, just to stick it to investors.
