Is there any particular reason that this is missing? We have the Toughness/Armor, Vitality/Health, and Precision/Crit chance pairs still up, but only Power and no Attack? Seems very odd to have that one missing while the others remain.

As I recall, attack wasn’t really used in any game mechanics since it was weapon strength + power, but damage came from weapon strength X power (and some other stuff!)

The attack value was meaningless, your damage comes from the power.

The attack value was meaningless, your damage comes from the power.

It was also based on your weapon damage IIRC, which is different between 2h weapons and 2 1h weapons as well as different tiers of equipment. Having it back would be nice at the very least for a frame of reference for builds. I liked to ensure I had at least 3k attack at all times and that could change between weapon sets.

base dmg of a weapon was not meaningless? damage does not only come from power? if u have a asc weapon your dmg is higher then with a white one…. so base dmg is included in your overall damage, and that was included in your attackrating…

The value given by attack isn’t used anywhere in the damage formula, but it is made up of the two stats that can be altered on your side of the formula. Power + max weapon strength.

Damage done by weapon skills = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

The old “Attack” stat shown in the hero panel did not actually represent any value used in this game’s damage calculations.

...
wrong... the attack stats is used everywhere, tooltip stated damage, raw damage output, etc.
i am sure they placed the profession stats in its place b/c they did want to add more data to the stats display.

well if they just removed the stat display.. would be great, but i do same dmg with white or legy weapon?! so something seems to be wrong :o would be nice if anyone could test and confirm this… and would be nice to have the old display back because we are used to this! and then u see the changes when u equip a legendary

edit: btw would be nice if u could post it in the feedback thread… hopefully some officials are reading this :o

It was even more misleading when using 1h weapons. Actual damage was based off of which ever weapon was used for the attack but Attack was displayed using the average. That was fine for dual wielding but if I was using something like sword/warhorn then Attack is just completely off.
