Older Guild Wars 2 Players / Guilds
You didn’t say what server you are on.
56 years old here. Good to see more folks coming in.
If you do not get a response here, try the looking for guild forum:
chuckle
There are younger individuals out here that welcome their older cohorts, and also have patience. I think what you need is a more laid back, casual style guild. One where it’s not all about speed clears or ‘owning’ wvw. Where people play because its fun, not because its a job.
Definitely check out the guild recruitment forums, and maybe post in the Looking For Guild forum as well if you don’t find what you’re looking for.
Welcome to GW2…..
If your on TC or guest over give me a shout I’d be glad to help you along with PvE and WvW. As far as a guild geared to oldies I haven’t found one yet the guild I’m in is full of nice kids (IMHO) but I’m the oldest one in the guild being 57 and they are active mostly way past my bed time..
There’s a guild recruitment forum here somewhere where requests like this where people post and look at requests like this. That might be the better place to go.
Check “Guild Recruitment” under “Guilds” you may get faster and better responses there.
If you’re on Sanctum of Rall, send me a private message here or in-game and I can provide some details for you to see if you’re a good fit.

There are two such guilds that I know of, both are rather large multi-games guilds and both are on Yak’s Bend:
The Older Gamers: http://www.theoldergamers.com/
The Old Timers Guild: http://www.oldtimersguild.com/vb/content.php
BTW, let me know if you need any help in game when I’m online, even though I’m a younger kid compared to you old geezers (38)…
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

Welcome to Guild Wars 2! The other folks here have some great answers; LFGuild is the way to go. Enjoy!
I played on Valcyn server SWG which had a ToG player city and a lot of active people.. 9 years ago. Nice guild with a long history.
I think one of my friends is near the top range of people that play this game! He is 62, and still runs dungeons/wvw with us youngins in our twenties. I actually really like the fact that people who are older than the stereotypical gaming age are in game learning how to play!

Pshhh… My oldest guild member is in her 70’s. She plays and ele and she rocks! But my guild is mostly older members.

“Learning how to play” made me giggle. As a harcdcore elite through over 8 games in 14 years, yeah, that happened quite a while ago.
Age is only a number.
Appreciate the sentiments of your post! I know a lot of folks in their 60’s still playing MMOs and few in their 80’s.

And if you are on Gunner’s Hold, look up MARA (Mature Age Recruitment Alliance.)
I have a 62 year old friend that has solo’d lupicus.
TC, check out this thread to find a dungeon mentor.

OTG is a great guild. Highly recommended you join.
Balthazar Order is recruting always,we are between 20 and 30 years old.We are still growing,i am on every day.We are very welcoming towards new players and today i did a 1 hour fractal run with new recruits so i think we are patient. One of the reason for creating my guild was to get low lvl players without experience and grow with the guild.
If you play on Underworld whisper me or send me a mail you can check balthazarorder.webs.com or https://www.facebook.com/groups/BalthazarOrderSC/ for more details.
“We are now! We are forever!”
Welcome to Tyria! Some of us are much older than you! I hope you find everything you seek. =)
So…Sling….“slightly older” is right…you are the same age as my oldest son. Seriously though…comments above all on the mark. I found a great guild with a good mix of ages…fantastic GM and officers…and am having a great time. There are lots of guilds out there. Best of luck to you.
From experience in their Teamspeak (TS). Tequatl Terror Squad(s) are pretty laid back and welcoming to casual players. They’re not my main guild but they havea huge player base, do big world events daily and have decent -core- groups who run dungeons and such every day. I find them very helpful to newer players, even non-core member offers help now and then due to the sheer size of the community (multi-server).
TTSgamers.com to sign up. If you find that you enjoy that type of atmosphere you can ask to join their main guild and rep them consistently, maybe take some lead roles in their world events as they are looking for those individuals too.
Edit: I highly recommend you join TTS regardless if you want to main them or not, they have low rep requirements (during TTS events only) and generally helpful over all. They do a lot of world events and bosses, which is a major part of GW2 PvE, something a normal guild might have a hard time covering due to player limits or just server limits.

I’m 52 and playing since launch. Plenty of older players playing Guild Wars 2. My wife plays too in fact.
If you want to chat hit me up in game, on Cador Shrike.
Hi all, and thanks for your replies.
“If your on TC or guest over give me a shout…”
Thanks for all the replies folks, but I’m afraid I have no idea what the above (or any similar suggestions) means. I’m totally new to guilds, server names, chat, searching for players and everything else to do with playing with other folk, so am going to need a ‘from-scratch’ mentor if anybody can be bothered to help. I really haven’t the foggiest! I’ve literally only ever played an RPG role on my own, but would love to play with other oldies.
I’ve tried to reply to two PMs I’ve had, but got a spam warning message when I clicked send saying that I need to wait two days to send a PM for some reason!

SlingDash add me in game…use the name Cador Shrike. Press Y to get to your friend’s list.
Type Cador Shrike into the top box and click on the plus button all the way to the right of that box.
You can send me a whisper by right clicking on my name and clicking on the whisper option. I can help you from there if you like.
Hi all,
Thank you all very much for your replies.
I’ve had some fantastic help and advice from a Guildmaster who, unfortunately, I’ve discovered I can’t play with because he’s on a different server to mine.
I think I’m on a European server, and apparently need to join a guild that’s also on the same in order to be able to play online with my fellow guildies.
I really am a total newbie, so please add/message/chat to me in-game (if that’s possible?) if you have a friendly, older member guild that’s willing and able to take me under their wing and show me the ropes of true MMO questing.
