Orr Champion farming
Anything that unbalance economy must be gutted at first sight.
Cof farm should have been butchered when it became so diffused, not let the farm going for 6 months or so with a huge amount of extra gold trown in economy.
Let’s hope they’ve learned from that mistake.
That said, about Orr farming, before any economic consideration: it exploits a game mechanic by deliberately failing a event in order to farm mobs that it spawn. Failing a event should never be better than succeding at it, by design, and Anet confirmed this.
So yeah, idk when they will act neither what they’re going to do, but if you enjoy farming that i’d do it now. It won’t last.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
They need to actually give better punishments for failing events.
Rewards are fine as they are. But as it stands, there’s very little repercussions for failure. So people can indefinitely farm and give no kittens because nothing’s gonna happen to them because literally nothing significant does. A good example of what they need to implement is the temple-statue mechanic in Orr, or something actually punishing like that.
There are already two threads on the first page about this. Here is one for you.

Anet can nerf every single thing in-game, farmers will find a way to farm. They want to dictate how players want to enjoy/play their game. They can’t. Simple as that.
i went to orr to farm it a little, except we weren’t doing the lame event fail farm, we were just running a path that hits 4 champions over and over, that being said i didn’t make much, just got some mats (a couple t6) and a crap load of greens. If they nerf it more than that….jesus

Event failing is not favored by Anet. They will work on making completing events more desired. How? I’m not sure yet. But it makes since to get more reward for completing events & not for failing.
The champs themselves in Orr will not be nerfed, they will be the same. 2 different topics when you mention “Orr champ farming” are going on.

IF a nerf is forthcoming(although I doubt it) I can’t wait and It’s about a week late(it should have happened the day it became aware of). IMO, my take on it is that ANET approves of it and condones the goings on.

Those are the Champs they won’t touch, and are likely considered working as intended. What will likely be nerfed are scaled up dynamic events that spawn a ton of Champs (due to the scale up effect). My guess is they will greatly reduce the number Champs that spawn on each wave, and possibly increase the reward for event completion.
I wasn’t really paying attention when they added Champs to scaled up DEs, but I always guessed it was to slow down DE farming in places like Orr and make it a bit harder when there are many players involved, so this issue is a side effect of that change.
Edit – I should clarify that it will likely be timed events, such as the Ember event in Orr that sees a large reduction in the number of Champs that spawn. DEs that are based on a fixed travel path and/or a set number of waves likely will not. I predict that this will not stop Champ farming, but move it back to the previous method which is a zerg bouncing around between a few events rather than sitting at Meddler’s Waypoint all day.

ah ok that makes sense…didn’t they nerf the champs that spawned during the claw? won’t they just do the same thing?

They did nerf the champs at claw cause I think more people focused on them in the back, & not on claw so the fight went on way longer then intended due to not enough people hitting claw and the ice spikes for the golems.
Since the current event that people are farming is time based (clock ticking down to fail/completion), Anet could just lower the time so in turn not as many champs spawn w/o having to “nerf” the champs themselves, while still buffing event completion reward, so people still don’t feel like its a nerf.
