I noticed that indeed. That’s… quite a shame. Especially for people (like me) who don’t give much of a kitten about PvP/WvW.

I did five PvE dailies without touching the Orrian one. Not sure what the problem is here.

Be that as it may, its still kind of like rubbing salt into an open wound, for the better part of a year anet have been nerfing orr via events, mobs and loot in general, they finally sink the final nail into the orr coffen with the megaserver crap, they then restricted the number of dailies to pick from, then they tell you you MUST go to Orr for that particular daily.

No, no they do not. You want to go to orr, there is no must.

I guess that even with the Megaserver thee’s still not enough people in Orr for Anet’s liking.

I don’t get it.

But that’s no strange occurance. Loot has been nerfed, all temples are on timers, Nobody carries the train through Orr anymore.
Why would you want to be in orr unless you’d be:
-bag farming, no wait, that’s been nerfed.
-Doing temples for the unlocks. Oh wait after the temple you need to wait half an hour to do another one, let’s just buy them and be done with it.
- Traveling expense is higher…
-WvW gives better loot, PvP gives better loot. If you’d be not interested in those two, you might go to PvE but focussing on for dungeons…
-Leveling is not fun anymore, if you’re leveling alts, but you cannot level them in Orr anyways… most ppl in orr were doing tample events, gates of arah and personal story.
At my 10th alt I rushed the story and got bored around the Island events- 50-60 I guess – and stopped. I like the first parts until you unite the trinity, but I know Trahearne to well now…. I killed the Big Z 9 times and he still manages to regrow his tail… Well Undead… I didn’t get my silver bullets or a Satke to drive through his heart, Oh , forgot, he has no heart… So he’s bound to come back…

Orr…. It was dead, then undead, alive acouple of months after launch & now killed and dead again.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

I don’t know what you mean by dead, because I see plenty of people running around there. Maybe you meant undead?

There are always going to be people who play only for how much loot they can get. They will always be the minority.

I see all maps to be pretty lively. The only train runs that have died is in Frostgorge Sound. Queensdale is the same, other maps as well. Orr is lively too.

And saying tha trains aren’t profitable….just lol. I earn a lot in QD.

Regarding new traits – you can buy them, no one forces you to do temple.

I just did the Orr Daily. There were plenty of people there, but not a giant zerg. I had fun. We did some events, got some chests, might have opened a temple, I’m not sure. Lol. Not all that familiar with it. Not sure what the problem is, as every day since Dailies have been introduced…and I mean every day….you could complete the necessary 5 in a starter zone, if you so desired.

If you don’t want to visit Orr, it seems to me, at least, you don’t have to. Just another choice we are given.

If you have only one character, buying them is probably a good option. Buying them on 20 or more characters…not necessarily as good an option.

Not if you want ascended armor or a legendary.

They gave the option to buy it for people who don’t like PvE. Not to make PvE players spend gold on it for no real reason.

I don’t see the problem. If you’re a brand new player then Orr is something to look forwards to in the future and you can still complete the daily with no problem. If you’re an older player on an alt and really really must do the Orr one for some reason, switch to your 80 and do it.

I actually think it is about time they made one for the upper lvl players only. All they did before was have Ascalonian killer, Maguuma Killer, Kryta Killer, Shiverpeak Killer – none were exclusively high or low.

point is simple. There is an alternative, which isn’t expensive.

I’m playing a thief with my own custom trait build which is nothing close to some meta wannabe most people use and think they’ll win.
Therefore I have no use for any single new trait for Grandmaster.

I understand that for some people and some classes 2 GM new traits are perfect for their build and playstyle – but is there really a need for all 4 per character?

Also, if someone does play smart in pve, he’ll farm that 3gold much faster than it takes to convince people to take the Temple.

Temple of Balthazar is the only one which is wanted by most players, due to Obsidian Shards in Karma NPC.

So, hypothetically, the OP should be complaining about Daily Dungeon runner?

Or Personal Story?

Dungeons are inaccessible to sub-30 characters, and my warrior has no more Personal Story to do.

I’ve still gotten my dailies, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I’d even consider PvP if it meant dodging a PuG dungeon run or the chore that is Aquatic Slayer.

Many alts; handle it!

Hint: There is none. People just like to complain about anything. Orr is one of the most populated areas on the map. So why shouldn’t you be able to finish your daylies while you’re on this map?

Should Anet remove all achievements that can’t be done by first level characters? Should all the dungeons be removed as well?

I see both sides of this as Anet does need to put out dailies that are different and get players to enter areas of the game they might not normally do.

On the other hand, having only 12 options for dailies (usually 6 of each type) is quite restrictive (but does allow for one of them to NOT be done and still get dailies without having to PvP (or PvE).

To be honest, I liked the new daily and actually got some Orr map completion that I have been avoiding because of it. I can see where players with less than LVL 70 characters are annoyed by it, however.

Okay, Anet has ALREADY changed two of them to make it so you can just get the trait doing the defense event. Source in the in the patch notes from five days ago.

If what you’re saying is true, why did they make the change? If Anet felt it needed to be changed, at least in two places, why are some people still defending it.

How about this? We really don’t need something like this to further divide the community. It’s happening right here, and right now and it comes down to a design decision.

The community already has enough to fight about. This is not something that should be continued by Anet.

You guys clearly don’t get it, if Anet puts in something that is optional, it means it is required to complete, and thus worthy of complaining on the forums. Everyone knows that!

What about brand new players who can’t afford gathering tools? I’m sure someone somewhere is completely broke, I don’t think it’s fair to put Gathering as a daily because that one guy won’t be able to do it!! NO FAIR!

I for once welcome that. At least some of the dailies should encourage people to go to less visited places.

There should also be a Brisban daily. That place’s always empty even with megaserver.

Not on Daily Reviver day. The camp at the north is a good spot to net revives. Or it used to be. They’ve been strangely and disturbingly survivable lately. :P

The “Daily Orrian Killer” achievement is in the same “slot” as daily story dungeon, daily explorable dungeon and daily fractal runner, so there’s no problem there.

A higher level group can probably “pull” a low level player through a fractal/dungeon path, and they can escort you in Orr all the same. But neither of the two are required.
