In order to make this easier on ourselves, and on you, we’ll be introducing a set of characters specific to the Living Story, at the end of March. Hint: one’s a norn, and one’s a charr.

Though it would be great if Tybalt and Forgal were back, especially if it involved the corpse of a certain necromantic shrub, it says “characters specific to the Living Story”, meaning new characters.
Also, how is it a hint that one’s a norn the other’s a charr when the areas affected are norn and charr zones?

Your mentor dies at 50, so either:

A) They don’t even play their own game enough to remember this.

B) The 80 is a typo.

or

C) They aren’t talking about your mentor at all.

It’s obviously Logan. Dressed as a sassy black Charr lady. Yeah.

I hope they don’t bring back Tybalt. He was a poorly written character, only slightly better than the rest of the unbelievably one dimensional characters in this game.

Tybalt bit into a poison apple rather than be killed and end up as one of the risen.

Borrowing from fairy tales, since ANet’s writers’ creativity was lacking the day they wrote this story (actually, they were all hung over at the time, but don’t tell anyone), Tybalt lies in a coma in the middle of the forest waiting for Princess Charming to wake him with a kiss.

He is surrounded by the seven dwarves (Azura) who will talk you to death if you attempt to approach him.

Your personal story will have you searching out the forest to find him, fighting your way through the dwarves, and giving Tybalt a big kiss… after which time he will awake, complain about the slobber in your kiss, you’ll ride off into the sunset (actually, you’ll use a waypoint since there’s no riding in the game, and there won’t really be a sunset because the sun never sets in this game), and you’ll live happily ever after…

…until the next expansion.

That’s almost like him being alive, right? Surely we saw him nude and jiggling about all the time.

I would like to see a picture of the “colorful thinking caps”, please. I’ve always wanted one of my own, and want to see what the Anet folks are wearing.

In all seriousness…sassy character who becomes my personal nemesis, eh? That sounds quite intriguing! “Sassy” is not how I would have described either the Flame Legion or the dredge, so now I’m wondering.

Just leave Tybalt, Tyria’s Hero, rest in peace already.

If the nemesis is an Asuran I am done with this game. I cant stand that every single monthly update that introduced a large event (aka, not Fire Frost since this has all be prelude) has had an Asuran as its main central NPC.

“Sassy” is one of those magic keywords that always seems to forebode a character I’ll wind up hating. And I’m not talking “compelling villain” hate, I’m talking about the kind of hate for a character that bleeds over into hate for the people who wrote that character. But I’m already pretty unimpressed by the writing on the personal story, including the excruciatingly slow current pace, so I doubt they can really make it worse…

Much as I would love to have Forgal back… I think the more obvious explanation is that since one group of refugees is Norn and the other is Charr, there’s an important NPC from each.

I actually think the “do we assume so-and-so is dead” thing means exactly the opposite of that – they have to avoid using characters who died at any point in the Personal Story, because depending where the player is in the PS the character may be alive or dead for them in their individual progression. It doesn’t mean (unfortunately – did I mention how much I miss Forgal?) that anyone who died is coming back.

Forgal is alive for sure.
It takes 1000 risens just to shave him, go figure hurt him or, lol, kill him.

The only part I like about that is giving Tybalt a kiss…

Obviously the level.80 so-and-so was referring to Zhaitan as we all assume it is dead.

Forgal was the best. Tybalt was cool though. I miss Forgal…I got pretty involved with the story when he was introduced. When that quest ended, I was sad.

Why does everyone say Tybald is dead. The last thing we saw of him was closing the door to lock in the undead. That’s pretty much Gandalf-like. He might have gotten away by a strange coincidence. (Just saying)

Then again I could be very very very far from the truth. :P

But please Anet seriously no more zombies…..we are ALL sick of Zombies, am I right? I loved the halloween event for the skeletons, they are ALWAYS my fave enemies in rpg’s give us a skeleton Zaff over a zombie please!

Ah-ha, Livia returns wielding the Scepter of Orr (with Danika old voice actress) as the second coming of a Lich (now more undead for everyone). Just kidding it could not get that bad.

Not sure where they are going with the story actually now. I am still kind of disappointed about the Lost Shore fumbling sub plot line.

The only NPC that died at 80 that I can remember is Zhaitan. The others we where involved with died earlier.

It obviously will be the norn and the charr that were together with Dougal in the book Ghosts of Ascalon.

They’re INTRODUCING, not RE-INTRODUCING… Tybalt, Forgal and the one from Durmand Priory are all dead and gone… if they were to come back, it would be as Risen, and then you’d want to put them down again asap.

I wonder why Tybalt is even so popular, he was a clumsy character and for a higher-standing agent with the Order of Whispers, I always found him to be like the butt of a joke and not credible as an efficient agent/spy/thief to have such a central role in this organisation.

Maybe Anet will bring him back as a plush toy backpack in the gem store, that should suffice…

Actually my first thought was Traehearne. I thought Anet was thinking “well the community hates him so much we may as well turn him bad and let them kill him off”. But then I thought back to what they said about the person effecting the story for those that have yet to see the end of the story etc and thought nah can’t be him. But perhaps an evil twin brother? :P

I really don’t understand how anyone dies in this game. Unless maybe they haven’t got the coin to rez at a waypoint. Why don’t NPCs just rez at the waypoints? We do.

I hope Tybalt is dead still. I hate the way Charr speak with that saliva sound, they sound almost as silly as they look. Almost.

Why? Just because a villain version of Trahearne would probably be more popular than the current version?

In another post about Tybalt’s re-appearance it was said that a fitting end to him would be fighting his risen form.
It would be sad but at least it would be meaningful. That said it would have to be an epic fight not a kitteny face roll.

Because he’s an insecure, whiny, glory-hogging windbag who hijacks the personal story, takes credit for all of your ideas, and never actually does anything.
He also appears completely out of nowhere to hijack it unless you’re a Sylvari. Otherwise you’ve never seen him before and suddenly you trust him and he’s your pal.
Oh and he takes Caladbolg and yet fails to actually use it in a useful manner.
