The current state of Dragon Ball is such that once a team gets a sizable lead, the losers start to bail out in hopes of finding a winning team in a different game. When there is more than a two-man gap in team size, the winning team will be polled to see if anyone would be willing to switch sides, promising a win bonus even if you lose.

Since you aren’t awarded anything for winning, switching sides results in you getting nothing at all if you lose. Not even a win credit for your achievement track, which is pretty much the only reason to be playing other than to have fun. You are better off continuing to play and hoping you don’t get picked to give up your victory.

Hopefully the devs get some sort of fix in to discourage this, preferably granting a win point to a willing volunteer.

While they are at it, they can fix this in similar games too.

Yeah, they should implement the new PvP volunteer mechanic there, where if you switch to the losing team you’ll get a guaranteed win credit for that match.

Well the pvp volunteer doesn’t give you the profession win daily either, so I don’t see them increasing the DB win 5 rounds daily

Yes it gives the profession win daily, if you are playing the class of the daily of course.

Haven’t had it do it for me. Will have to retry it tonight. Though pretty sure i did the volunteer thing not long after it and the profession wins were added and it didn’t give me the daily like I thought it should have.

It does award you the win if you volunteer in PVP both for the daily as for your win statistics. I do this almost every day.

You can even volunteer while spectating and it will still count as a win if you get swapped to the losing team

I got automatically switched to the losing team, and we ended up winning that round.

after losing 15 times in a row this is very broken. First you should not be able to leave unless you force quit the program or turn off your computer. Second the second anyone leaves the game is prorated and is over. Third you should not have the same people stay on the same team round after round after round because the results in a elite team that wins every battle for hours. All the special even pvp are broken badly by the failure to at least have a dishonorable feature.

It wasn’t in the patch notes, but swapping teams via the volunteer button to balance a match has been fixed this year to increment your dragon bash achievements.

you dont actually get a win in real PvP if you volunteer

In the statistics it will still count as a lose

But it awards you the winning rewards and daily completion

this could all be avoided by making it worthwhile to play, even if you lose
but right now, there is zero reward for losing, and equally zero reward for winning.
So right now there is no incentive to take dragonbash seriously whichever side you’re on. The numbers are just for show, there are no winners because there is no reward

Except the credit just for participating for the Lunar New Year Daily. Which gives a reward after a mere two participations. =)

My impression over the last few days is that matches are improving. People aren’t bailing out of games nearly as much. I don’t see how this change would have impacted that, but I’ll take it.
