So after logging out last night, this morning I couldn’t log in to either the game or site getting an error about password being incorrect.

I thought this would be due to log in servers down for the patch, but then i went through the change password process and it worked and now I’m in.

First I thought maybe i’d been hacked, but nothing is missing, anyone else experience this?

No, I never experienced this and password do not change at random. First off all, it might be that your caps where on (I know nobody is that stupid, but somehow it happens ).

If thats not the case you can still be hacked. The purpose of hackers is to misuse other peoples accounts to do bad things. So it does happen that they hack you, but don’t act for a long time.

If you go on this page to ‘my account’ and then security, you can see your authorized networks. Pls check if there isn’t anything fishy in there. If it isn’t you prolly are fine. if it is you got hacked and I advise you to check your computer on virusses, and specially keyloggers. change also your email-password (make sure it is different from your gw2 password) and your safe again.

I haven’t heard much about it lately, but there was the Apple OS password bug that changed your password to GW2 if you accessed any GW2 page from a device that used that OS (tablet, phone, etc.) This may or may not have caused the password issue, as well.

All passwords changed, was gonna use the mobile authenticator but it keeps crashing, typical.

That issue is specifically with logging in to the forums – not the game itself.
The issue is also specific to iPad’s using 7.0.2

OP says they couldnt log into the GAME. MUCH bigger issue.

You obviously didn’t read the whole thread. It is mainly about being unable to log into the game.

Regardless, it was an issue previously, but seemed to clear up as there haven’t been many posts about it lately, so the OP’s issue is either a compromised account or a weird glitch. Contacting CS may be the only solution.
