Biggest news:
•Globs of Ectoplasm can now be salvaged into Piles of Crystalline Dust. This change should help Globs of Ectoplasm maintain a strong value in the economy and lower the cost of Crystalline Dust.

+9001 at Dust out of ecto, 2 bird 1 stone (drag dust down a lot and ecto up a bit)

Master Tuning Crystals, Master Maintenance Oil, and Superior Sharpening Stone recipes now take more Piles of Crystalline Dust to craft. This change is to help these consumables maintain a high value with the new influx of dust.

If they improved the chances of the store-bough coffers dropping weapon skin tickets… I will need to see some numbers before I buy anything.

I really fancy the jade weapon skins, and I understand getting them from drops isn’t likely.

Beautiful timing. I cashed out on my dust yesterday. Hopefully it pays off!

Fair set of changes. I fear the Rich coffers will have droprates similar to the southsun crates and the regular ones will be worse. This is purely idle speculation, but I sure hope not. If they’re actually better I might just spend a few gems. We’ll wait and see

Yeah, those two changes are the ones which caught my eye.

I didn’t cash out on my dust To be honest I didn’t think they would implement this, I feel really stupid for not considering it.

On the plus side, I’m also sitting on stacks of globs. Interested to see how much we gain/lose in price for these two items.

I wonder if you salvage ectos, if you get 0-3, just like how you salvage for rares, and if you get more/less depending on the kit you use.

I hate how much they’re pushing their RNG this time. Holographic colossus only if you get a holographic knight off a coffer and spend 500 gems? Really? Well this is going to be my first holiday mini that I won’t get.

World vs. World

1. World Ability Points have been refunded to all players who earned them. Changes were made to Arrow Cart Mastery, allowing players to reallocate their points. This is a one-time reset.

2. Arrow Cart Mastery skills have had their range reduced to be better in balance with other siege weapons.

Awesome. Very disappointed new skins remain under RNG however. Once again the GS is way too big, so I’m not too hurt personally, but I feel sorry for all the customers this affects as well.

Interesting. I think I only have 15-20 pieces of dust so I don’t think I would have made too much money… but I’m glad they implemented this since dust was such a kitten to find.

Fortunately I bought all the dust to up-convert my cores to lodestones back when dust was ~20s a pop, which made my Volcanus less painful to afford than it otherwise would’ve been. That said, I’m curious how much this will cause dust prices to drop, and the consequent effect this will have on core/lodestone values. I anticipate the net reality of this is that lodestones will get cheaper in many cases because cores were so abundant but no one really upconverted due to the price of T6 dust. I imagine this will normalize it a bit, and all-in-all be really interesting.

Fortunately, nothing this patch screwed my investments, so I’m good.

I for one don’t really like the weapons, they are beautiful but I like my metal blades, it would be nice if you could trade the token for the mini. As the token is more rare than the mini.

What I think. They may add another source for dust and leave ectoplasm alone. A lot of stuff need ecto compared. I really really hope ectos don’t get sky prices.

If the tickets from bl chest have a rate about 40-50% to drop ticket Im down. But at the current RNG system I stay stfout of this.

When patch hits, please someone post what the rock formation is?

well … mostly tooltip changes, some minor fixes … nothing important

@ Ectoplasm
ANet really want to use ectos as additional credit unit … so we have Gold, Diamonds, Karma, Laurel and Ectos …
I don’t like that they increased dust mats on consumables, but we’ll have to see.

I’ve been speculating that at the conclusion of this event, we’ll have a dragon invade Lion’s Arch, leading us to the next Living Story

Excellent. The gemstore options are rubbish. RNG weapons and buy 2+RNG for a complete set of minis? Those decisions have saved me a lot of time/money.

With the amount of free ectos you can get per day, this offers a very good way to farm Dusts.

My question: what is the rate of Ecto to dusts? Rare to ecto at .9, ecto to dust at 1:x? What happens if it “fails”? Can you get more than 1 dust per salvage?

We actually KNOW that a Dragon is waking up (based on Arah Explorable) so it is fully possible that they will actually show us the actual awakening and/or set the stage for it.

I was really hoping to attain a couple of these new weapon skins. So much for that. They hit the nail on the head with SAB. But then they reverted back to this RNG surprise-in-a-box thing that frustrated everyone during the last event and will probably be the same this time around. Here’s hoping the drop rate is better than the past indicates it will be. I refuse to spend real money or in-game gold at a chance to maybe get something.

Kudos to a free toy in the gem store. Kudos to event-achievable back piece. Kudos to (snazzy) open world fun.

That’s just standard business strategy. They want steady income from the TP store, so it makes sense that they stagger the stuff they introduce to it, since people only get as much disposable income at any given time. Right now if you want to spend on gems, they want you to spend it on jade coffers, dragon bash minis and stuff like that. If I had to guess, if they add a new armor skin set to the TP, it’ll be either related to a later event or when no events are going on.

Meh those zones are too low level. I need Destroyer Lodestones so they would need to be lv76+ destoryers! :P

Gendarran would mean attacking the Vigil or Lion’s Arch. Attacking Lion’s Arch makes more sense than Divinity’s Reach since that means an attack on all races at the same time rather than making it a human problem.

Well, what is Gendarron? That’s a Kryta zone right? Humans? So what dragon do we have yet to see that is related to them? I don’t think there’s any.

Added a new combat/movement toggle option: “Right-Click to Attack/Interact”.

Finally I will not lose my target anymore every single time I rotate the camera. Should have come much earlier after endless complaints, but better late than never I guess.
