Personality Gone?!?
i dont think it really did anything anyways did it?
Its just hidden for now, but still works. They “removed” it because there was a conflict between the name “Ferocity” used in both personality and stats.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

They kind of divided a butt down the center with the feature and ultimately never went anywhere with it. It might as well be gone quite frankly. =\

It seemed like an half implemented system that never got a chance to be fully developed when the game was rushed out, and never worked on after that. Would of been neat to see choices mattering in the personal story.
Which is funny because they spent the better part of a PAX event pre-launch raving about how awesome the personality system was going to be, and how it would greatly affect how you could interact with NPCs. They mentioned how some NPCs would even react to your presence as you walk near them. I think they even mentioned that someone who went balls deep into Ferocity could even punch NPCs in the face… I really wish they had had the resources to really make it work the way they talked about it. It seems like they were really excited about seeing it through, but weren’t able to… :/

Has Anet sucked all the personality out of the game?
I’m going to go with this one, for more than one reason.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
There was a personality system?
It looks like they wanted to do what Bioware does with the player’s choices having an influence over the outcome of the story. Unfortunately, with everything else they were already doing it just seemed too daunting a task and so they either decided to postpone it until some later time or abandon it altogether.
I want my charming rogue back! And my unpredictable Mesmer….
D: I want my unpredictable mesmer too… I mindfully choose my answers to NPCS just to maintain that personality. I like the faces icon.

It’s amazing they named the new stat Ferocity as if they forgot the personality attribute existed.
I never noticed personality make a difference in the game anyway. For example the heart in Queensdale where you talk to Ettins. Even when I used my primary personality to talk to them it seemed random if they walked away or went into attack mode. So I gave up worrying about it.

Players interact with NPCs aside from buy/sell/start events?
Lady Alexis Hawk – Main – Necromancer
Ravion Hawk – Warrior
They probably removed it because Ferocity is the name or the new critical damage stat and Ferocity was also the name of one of the personalities. You obviously can’t have both, so one must be deleted (just like the Twilight Arbor F/U dungeon and the Aetherpath).
These are not your characters.
This is not your game.
All of it belongs to ANet, they’ve said so multiple times.
They can do anything they want.
So they’ve stripped your characters of any sign of personality.
Fits the game.

The personality attribute was a relic of an abandoned project and it was put down long after it should have been.
