I just read on the GW2 wiki I can’t even get this set through SPVP now because it’s now unobtainable for some reason. This armor was supposed to be in the game at launch and was in the beta when I played it several times. I have been very busy working on my legendary and had no idea that this armor skin was going to be made completely unobtainable in every way shape or form. I and im sure many others would like to have this set please add it back to the game and or in pve from a karma vendor or something. I want this set on my Clothies and would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on why it’s not in the game anymore ?

Edit: I realize it WAS in Spvp, but I keep hearing you can not get it at all period anymore, Which if I did do SPVP it was going to be specifically for this armor set. I guess now I have one less reason to do SPVP.

Personally, I would rather it come back as an obtainable skin in PvP rather than yet another PvE-exclusive skin. I’m more of a WvW/PvE player, but I think it’s nice if people who mainly do PvP get some exclusive things too. Just so long as it’s obtainable somehow.

why make it exclusive anything? i say give us everything but take from us nothing.

There is a Dev post over in the PvP sub-forum, stating it may be added back (in a Reward Track, I think he said?) in the future, so there’s that.

Agreed. I had been working towards rank 30 for the longest time, but due to work commitments I was away for months at a time. Now that I have it, the set’s completely unobtainable, ugh.

This is easily my favorite skin, such a shame to have it sit in that locker unusable.

I so want this back. Make it part of a new Living Story, put it in the gem store, add a new dungeon and add there (would make a great jungle dragon theme and my favorite option), give as a karma set, etc.. I’ve been wanting this since I saw it in Beta!

How long do we have to wait for this? Seriously. Put it in as a karma set or whatever already!

Tribal armor reward track is the best solution, and it’s probably pretty likely to come. They’ll eventually want to spice up the reward tracks, the tribal armor is already made so they don’t have to bug the artists too much except maybe a couple reward track icons, people want the set back in game, who loses?

Man, I hate these posts. Look, it’ll probably still be a PvP reward when it comes back, so that way players would still have to earn it through PvP. Would that make you happy?

I’ve said it a million times, these armor sets shouldn’t be treated like they were temporary sets like Living Story or Holiday items. You want them to stay exclusive to PvP? Then it should be on a reward track. I personally feel it should be a karma set, as it was in beta.

Bottom line: It’s time for the Tribal Armor set to make its return. I don’t care how I’d have to obtain it, as long as it’s reasonable enough to work for. No matter what, though, I’ll do whatever it takes, so let’s just get it back already!

Grouch mentioned it on a Ready Up livestream and said it will most likely come back in a future PvP reward track. Not sure which Ready Up or I would link it.

After doing abit of research (which it didn’t take much) I realized the tribal set was completely gone from spvp- you cannot craft it or anything unless you had the set before the april 15th update- so I updated the wiki until further notice

a dev did mention that it “might” be added eventually as a reward track.

I wish Anet would bring this armor set back, and not just for PvP either. Remember at the start of GW2 they said they want players to ‘play the way you want’? I do. And it was the biggest lie ever made, because the reality is, we CAN’T play the way we want.

Want that armor that only PvP can give? Tough luck for you.

It shouldn’t be like this. Players need alternative ways to obtaining said gear through a means that THEY like. For me, it’s WvW, for others, it might be PvE. Anet shouldn’t punish players simply because they don’t like that content. There needs to be other ways of getting things but in a way they find it enjoyable too. Anet needs to live up to that phrase ‘play the way you want’.

Yup, I want this armor desperatley too. I think it should be a karma set, like it was previously. But if it becomes available through a reward track in PvP, that works too. Just give me SOME way to obtain Tribal armor.

Yeah, the thing already exists and looks great, so just stuff it in somewhere.
I don’t really mind if it’s obtained from PvE or PvP, as long as I can reasonably earn it.

I can understand the frustration of people who came to the game after the set was removed but honestly, if you wanted it since beta, you had plenty of time to unlock it through pvp.
Even then, people tend to interpret “play the way you want” in a very strange way sometimes. It does not mean we are entitled to get absoutely everything in the way it fits us.

No, you didnt PvP and obtain the armor yourself – is not anyone else’s problem but your own.
You cannot obtain any armors through PvP anymore. Unless it’s through the reward track of dungeons.
I actually participated in PvP and made the armor except for the shoe wraps because I ran out of wolf rank tokens. So now its in my wardrobe, but I’d be a little irritated if it was brought back because all the work I put into PvP to get it just went down the drain, because originally that is why I started to PvP to obtain the “Wolf” gear since that is the rank you had to be to be able to even attempt to craft it in PvP, and it would defeat the purpose of what I did.
So no, don’t bring the armor back because others were too lazy or just didn’t make it to PvP in time.

Even if it was brought back I think that it should remain in PvP as a high rank reward track.

so many people crying about keeping an armor unique that they don’t even use most likely. Isn’t there enough temp content in the game already? It needs to be brought back as either gem store or pvp gained armor or for a huge amount of wvw badges.

I think the set should not be obtainable anymore, PvP was very rough on rewards before April 14th and literally people who played over a thousand hours in PvP were promised in a blog post for legendaries and instead we get reward tracks that don’t even award a feasible amount of materials to even craft a legendary.

So basically, someone who played 500 hours in PvE got to take their legendary in PvP while PvP players have to grind literally for months and month (well beyond the 6) to even get a legendary and possible even purchase gold with gems just to get the precursor.

So yes, you can hate me for wanting to keep those 2 armors in the game that aren’t obtainable anymore, when you literally just walked into PvP with legendaries and tons of armor skins when we were promised PvP legendaries that didn’t require PvE and we were also promised that we would never have to grind PvE or PvP to have all skills in PvP which that promise was also broken on April 14th.

Much like the Black Lion weapons, there’s nothing wrong with a degree of exclusivity but it makes no sense to bar access to digital assets with no ongoing production cost.

Yes, everything that’s unlocked in the wardrobe locker, except the racial restrictions.

I’ve got no problems with exclusive PvP armour sets, but I think the Tribal set only served that purpose by accident.

Since it was labeled as Masquerade armour in the old PvP locker, its ‘exclusivity’ seemed more of an oversight than anything else. The same goes the other way, with the Masquerade set from PvE not being in the PvP locker previously.

Besides, it would be odd if there’s an exclusive PvP light set but no heavy one.

I want this set oh so bad for my necro. This is a somewhat regular request in the forums, I’ve made a thread about it myself. That said, the devs surely know about our desire to be able to unlock this armor set.

I don’t care how we unlock it; pvp reward track, pve karma vendors, etc. Just give us a way to earn this armor!

Do you even read the PvE forums? And then also had to map the entire world as well…

Months on end? I just crafted my legendary after 2 years of playing, and had to take out a loan for the remaining T6 mats as well.

Look, why can’t they just bring this armor set back as a reward track? That way, those that want it will still have to play PvP to get it. Would that make you nay-sayers happy? Geez, remember the first couple months after the update when there were half a million threads about “OMG THESE PVE NOOBS ARE RUINING PVP, GET THEM OUT SO I CAN PROPERLY ASSERT MYSELF AS AN ELITE PVP TOURNEY MACHINE!” And yet you still want that exclusivity? Okay, sure, I’ll see you in PvP when it comes back as a reward track. I’ll grind as much as I need to to get that armor set. That way, you won’t have your feelings hurt because players will have to go to PvP to earn it.

And another thing. What about the PvE players that ran dungeons so they could get that super cool dungeon armor set? Why didn’t Anet take those down as well? Sure, I’m probably comparing apples to oranges, but the simple fact is that the Tribal Armor (and all the PvP armor) shouldn’t be treated as limited-time sets. That’s what Living Story (although now it’s permanent content) and holiday stuff is for.

The Tribal Armor was just like any other armor set, only there was a different requirement to obtain it. — Just. Like. Dungeon. Armor. — A reward track would fulfill this purpose. Why is it still unobtainable? You can earn armor through PvE and carry it over to PvP, why not vice versa? Tribal, Stalwart, Marauder, all those sets should be brought back already (I know you can earn some pieces of Stalwart and Marauder from Personal Story, but not all of them).

The Tribal Armor is just too cool of a set for me to let go, so I’ll keep coming back to remind everyone how badly Anet needs to bring it back already!

They bring back every other skin in the gem store through the year. They should bring this one back as well. It has my vote to come back.

I’ve got the other pvp only/discontinued light armor one, tribal is the best imo. Yes, please bring it back. 1/2 the works already done.

its a past reward, something to show that you PVPed back when we had exclusive rewards, i know they’ve said they’ll bring it back, but i hope they don’t.
there are very very few unobtainable past rewards in this game already, atleast let those of us who earned them, keep their exclusiveness.

obtaining limited time aesthetics is a huge part of MMOs, and one of the areas Anet are really failing in in GW2, just look at S1 and S2 awards available for a few gold from a vendor…

I’m surprised they didnt unlock this set during the wardrobe feature addition. Some pvp exclusive armors were automatically unlocked, yet this set was not.
