Please turn down the ambient chatter
would you prefer a totally silent city? if anything, id love to hear more diverse chatter like maybe someone buying apples from some one handed charr merchant in lions arch or people discussing living story events, that’d be cool
Kiel Replacement Movement
I like the chatter personally. Some of them make me laugh out loud every time. I can suspend my disbelief for the repatitions, maybe some of them could be put on a longer loop to reduce the chance that a character hears them more then once in the visit to the area.
“BY OGDONS HAMMER WHAT SAVINGS!”
heh my favourite is “an Asura called me a bookah the other day, I think she wakittenting on me”
or in Rata Sum I overheard an Asura telling another Asura of when they tricked a human into removing his belt before going through the gate and had to walk through holding up his pants
Kiel Replacement Movement
I like random ambient chatter. It would be cool if they added a little more variety, though! Def don’t want it turned down.
I’ve prayed to the spirits of the wild, but they rarely answer.
LESS VIOLENCE MOAR VIOLETSSSSSSSSSS
I’d rather see these comments play less often, but have a sort of “ambient roar” of voices constantly playing. It gives the sound of a busy city with many conversions at once, but without any one decipherable comment to annoy.
CITIZENS CITIZENS CITIZENS
It is better than a dead-silent city. It gives a little life to the areas.
There’s one I’d DEFINITELY want to tone down…
It’s the one near the crafting area of Divinity’s Reach with the annoying children.
“ROOAAAARRRR”
“[Screams]”
“[very ANNOYING childish laugh]”
And this played almost every minute while I was crafting! I literally wanted to go outside and hit a child!
Other than that, I’d like to actually here a couple more NPC discussions.
I’m usually typing on my phone
But…but…
Your face looks funny…all squished and weeird…
No. YOUR face is funny. Its like a little raisin.
“BY OGDONS HAMMER WHAT SAVINGS!”
And right afterwards, the Skritt living in the sewers. They really should have sealed it up by now.
Yup it does get rather annoying at times. Good thing you can turn off the dialogue.
To me I’d rather have total and complete silence over a living world. Both In real life and in game. But hey at least it isn’t like Fallout New Vegas DLC companions.
Seize the moment
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
I like the chatter.
I like the diverse idea too.
I’d rather give people that don’t like it a frequency slider, with far left (right?) being none. Like the music interval.
There are ways to address it and make everyone happy, I think.

I’d rather have better written dialogue, not one-off puns or impersonal slogans that are repeated ad nauseum. If that’s not possible, then I’d prefer silence.
That conversation about ex-pirates and reducing racial bias is getting stale.
The ambient laughing in Divinitys Reach makes me want to light my ears on fire
I don’t want them “off”. ANet needs to add more – to have more random stuff, not hearing the same thing over and over again.
I love the chatter, it makes the cities feel alive to me- may be as some said more diversity?
I love the one in DR about the woman who could kill for a bean curd cake
Just don’t take it away please
I want this option to right click on an NPC → Mute.
NO NO NO, we should go to the armory!
Turn down volume or mute the game.

“Your face is funny, all squooshed and weird.”
“No your face is funny! It’s like a little raisin.”
“Dear ANet, nerf Paper, Scissors is fine. Sincerely, Rock”
Elysaurus | Warrior | [LOL] | League of the Legendary | Gandara (EU)
“Rawr! Quaggan is mad! Quaggan is foo furious! Quaggan hates you and the egg you came from.”
“Splish splash three Norn in a bath”
I love ambient chatter
