Poll: How much have you spent on GW2?
Around 2000? Not sure, exactly.
With gold being as easy as it is to acquire and with the lack of content updates aside from zerg living stories and lack of bug/exploit fixes AND with neglection of dungeons, I wouldn’t buy gems even if someone reimbursed me for the payments because they don’t deserve the support if all it’s going into is living story crap.
game+25 dollars of gems.
OMG. I did not read the title, nor the OP, correctly. I thought it was asking how much time! LoL.
Let me amend my answer: Nothing more than the initial purchase, much as I would like to support ArenaNet.

Glad for the clarification, was concerned about just how committed you where to the game.
Me personally, about $100 over the last 2 years. Every few months I buy a few gems, my way of feeling like I’m supporting the game.
Ha ha. I do love the game, but I am not anywhere near affluent enough to spend that kind of money on it. Though, I have read in other threads that others have spent that much, and more. Anyone’s guess how true it may or may not be. =)
Over a grand, but stopped spending anything after certain development direction decisions by Anet.
$60 (I think) for the game…
60$ for the game.
That’s it. In almost 2 years I haven’t bought a single gem for usd.

I’m not even looking at the link! Lots…
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Between 200-300 bucks I think. Haven’t been keeping count.
$200-$300 here as well.
Though I’m feeling very “unsure” about the direction they’re going with the game these days. The more they make it into a vertical wow-clone and abandon the philosophies that made GW1 special ..the less inclined I am to spend money on it. I already wish I hadn’t spent as much as I have and can’t see spending another cent until I have a more clear and favorable picture for where they’re going with this.

I picked ‘at least $200’ based on the fact that back in September I worked out I’d spent £95. I’ve spent more since then (estimated £150) and guessed at the currency conversion.
Then I realised you were asking how much we’d spent after buying the game. So I’d need to take £50 off of that, which would bring it down to somewhere around $100.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I have spent probably around $60 after my initial purchase. I want to support the game, Gems I used to buy more bank slots and a custom skin rest to gold. Did not really “Need” it but again I like supporting the game and hopefully it goes to adding more stuff. I felt the same way as above about how it was all going to PVE Living story but looks like we about to get a big PVP overhaul and I am excited. #Worththewait
This poll is kinda pointless, because a new statistic just say that only .15% of the is responsible for 50% of all f2p game purchases, which is kinda scary. The point being the people on the forum imo are generally not the types that spend that much aka whales.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
2000 – 3000 euros plus collector’s edition. But then, I can easily afford that.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Er... maybe about 1000NOK. Maybe more, maybe less. Technically more than I should, regardless.
I may even do a conversion on that for the poll.
I contacted Anet a few weeks ago and they told me about $900.
I honestly haven’t a clue how much I’ve spent between my account and my husband’s account. Obviously there’s a quick $120 for 2 base accounts. I’ve bought several things from the gem store (10 character slots, 6 or 7 bank slots, a couple of bag slots, several sets of infinite tools, etc), the problem is I never remember which I paid cash for and which I used gold for. shrug Never opted to keep track considering I’m not a discontent player.
about $100 worth of gems since release. I buy like $5 or $10 here and there, but there’s been nothing in the gem store that I want to get that I haven’t been able to farm gold to convert to gems for.

My answer got capped out at 500, but my actual spending of this game (according to quicken) in one year is closer to $1200
Far to much to list.
But, After the announced stat nerfs to Zerker and Celes and me having both set’s crafted in ascended – I stopped spending all together in the gem shop.
I spent a ton of time and rl money to craft two sets. When the change goes live my favorite set – Celes will no longer be what I originally purchased and quite frankly I have yet to see a valid response from the devs on what they are doing about it beyond the stereo-typical “we are looking into it.”.
I understand it’s Anet’s game and they can change it how they see fit. But when said changes effect what I purchase directly and I don’t feel I have been compensated for such changes – I simply won’t support them any more.

So did you submit your video in that contest?

I bought the game, made three or four gem purchases….
Then they announced “Ascended” and a new tier of weapons, armor and trinkets.
I haven’t spent a penny of real money on this game ever since and I never will.
less than $100.00 since launch, none in the past 6 months. IMHO the majority of armor skins in the gem store look terrible (the only things I’m really interested in purchasing), lack of bug fixes, flat out ignoring terrible design decisions with fractals and the the living zerg(story) which occupies most of their focus all contribute to me not wanting to monetarily support them in any way.
At least around 400 USD, though I don’t think I’ll be spending much more. Maybe a couple more 10-20 purchases, but I’m kind of done spending so much on a game.
And people wonder why I prefer subscription games with no cash shop. >_<
EDIT: Been playing for around 7 (?) months.
Base game, no purchases after. I would most likely have purchased an expansion, but don’t think I would right now, given the direction of the game.
If I had to guess I’d say somewhere in the $600 range.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I only spent money to buy the game itself, no further purchases. I’ve been really happy without the extra additions from the shop.
