Part 1:
After getting the first insight of what Anet has done all by pushing basically the game down to idiot niveau, I was for once at the moment the first time really thinking about it, that Anet succesfully brought the game to the point, where it seriously needs a rebirth, just like Square Enix falled down flat with Final Fantasy 14’s first release onto their faces, because they so incredibly failed with that game that it quickly got labeled as their biggest flop made ever, until they just stood up and said to themself – not with us, we can deliver something better, our customers can expect and deserve something better from us – a product thats worth it to be called a Final Fantasy and see, what they have done like a year later out of it and how massively they changed that game to the good of it compared to how that game was like, when it started…

I come to the point, that Anet would do a best out of it, if they would really reconsider maybe to do something limilar, like SE did with FF14 and bring out under the development of finally a real big expansion basicaly the re-release of the whole game under a complete new face.
Because this game already feels like a bad cheese full of design holes, when you think about all the content that is missing, that should have been in the game from begin on, but didn’t got implemented due to ANet being pressured by NCSoft to rush this game out quickly by the dead line of 2012 until even today 2 years later.
Then all the content that caused stress in the community, that got implemented later, which would have been completely avoidable, if this content would have been in the game from begin on (Ascended Equipment)
And now this way too late implemented forced upon wannabe tutorial that feels more like an insulting punishment, rather than a rewarding an fun addition to the game, especially for veterans that want to make alt characters and have no options to avoid this garbage.

The game is content wise, mechanically wise and concept wise still after those 2 years so unchanged to be easily able to come up even with a 2 year old game successfully with a rebirth of the game and use this as a way to polish and overhaul the game everywhere where its needed in 1 mighty pull to bring back this game finally onto its right path in one go, rather than to butcher it to death now with Feature Packs like this which ruin only the whole game experience for the western audience of your players, because you felt, you have to give all of us the same eastern niveauless treatment of braindead wannabe turorials.

It was exactly the right thing for SE what they did with FF14, so i think its now the right time for ANet to do basically the same with GW2.

After this Feature Pack, I have the strong feeling, we are in a dire need to rethink about it, what real Character Progression means, what the key factors are to it why so many players of RPG’s of any kind love this mechanism so much and how you get into a Game like GW2 a good Character Progression, without that it feels for your players boring, full of grind, locked behind countless time gates, that you think you just get punished to the point, that the game absolutely feels like being no fun at all anymore. or turning into a moneygrabber game, where you just progress only, if you are willing to lose your last cent and your soul to a gem store – good is only, that GW2 hasn’t reached becoming this ultra niveauless so far yet.

We get just illusioned that the game is now more rewarding on your path of progression by letting you unlock things, which are for every playing person of this game as normal as tons of other more complex and very detailed games with that they have also no problems at all to understand and master them through simple trial and error methods, without that all this stuff has to be locked for us first to come up with that stuff then later as pseudo rewards for character progression >.>

Part 2:

Here are some topics, that I strongly suggest that Anet should sharply think about changing /changing back instantly and in general improve, so that this game might end up living up finally, what it claimed basically to be through your Manifesto

  • Complete Reset of all the Low Level Zone Changes
  • Redesign of the Character Creation Instances as new Tutorial Missions where new players get teached everything that is important for maneuvring your Character, however, Veteran players get they their simple option of SKIPPING through these things once they have made at least 1 Character that went through those Tutorials there!
  • Integration of teaching other Game Features as much as possible passively through the course of the Personal Story and/or doing Renowm Hearts by using better telegraphes, that show players how something gets done and lets them do it self then.
(I seriously can’t believe it, how incredibly you devolved the Low Level Zones into idiot niveau now, only because of there being some people with an IQ of beans being too stupid to feed some cows and the like by grabbing food bags for them, that you have to dance now for cows like a total moron – ANET WAKE UP, you make here a game for a grown up audience of players, not for babies, that just got out of their pampers which have the same niveau of having to be spoon fed and hand held for every singly tiny stupid thing that you can think of they need help for !!)
  • Complete Redesign of the whole Personal Story including the long wished community concern of redesigning the Zhaitan Battle
  • Complete Redesign of the Trait System to allow for a better Character Progression System to have space for more depthful concepts of vertical like especially horizontal Character Progression (the CDI crowd that participated there will be watching you !!)
This here especially includes also improving the complete game design around how I progress with my character from Level 1 to 80. How do I unlock new skills? How do I unlock new traits and so on in a way, that its fun and not a chore that locks you behind level grind and so on.

Seriously, everything what you added now with this Feature Pack to Low Level Zones is what basically every veteran player I can think of absolutely despises and hates about what tons of other other games before GW2 made ALWAYS WRONG and why it was such a good selling point for GW2 due to making it different and more especially YOU MADE IT RIGHT.
Your whole changes in this Featue Pack related to the Low Level Zones is 100% counterproductive to what you claimed GW2 to be for a game through your manifesto trailer.

I will always remember on Colin saying there:
Wow, I swung a a sword, oh hey look, I swung it again…
This is exactly how the Low Level Zones feel like now as a dumbed down Warrior, that has to level grind, just to unlock stupidly new Skills for his weapons, like in gazzillions of cheap stupid 101 MMORPG’s out there before GW2 too.
I thought you wanted to be different Anet, I thought you wanted GW2 to be an innovative game and not just a copy of a copy of a 101 bad generic MMORPG that this world already has way too much from ??

I guess I was wrong, when I just look at how the low level zones of this game feel like for a new player or veteran player, that decided to create an alt character and which has no option at all to avoid all this insulting belittling gameplay design, when you have after 2 years made already tons of max level characters and know the game already like inside out!!

I don’t think they need a redux of anything other than the way they’ve handled traits, skill training, and the ability to salvage, and even possibly putting back in those two personal stories.

What needs an overhaul before anything else right now is the rewards system. Really it’s terrible. DR needs to go entirely it’s never done anything to keep bots at bay in fact people are using apps now more and more so something else much be done about it that’s not related to how many pieces of loot someone gets before they start piling up the grey skulls.

PVE combat would be my second because the balance team has broken several essentials for PVE combat for multiple classes in the quest to balance PVP (something that cannot be done without messing up PVE in with the methods they are using right now).

I wholeheartly have to disagree with you here.
You may be thinking perhaps, what 1 Feature Pack has screwed over can be simply fixed again with another Feature Pack??
But I think this isn’t the way how it works. In the end you butcher your Game only to death, when you use Feature Packs to fix older Feature Pack Changes or just the smaller biweekly Patches.
The community is lamenting over the past 2 years already how in a dire need this game is if getting an expansion and after this feature pack here I really can understand them now more and more.
There simply exist things ,which just can’t be done by Anet through just small biweekly patches and feature patches, which mostly polish and improve only already existing game mechanics but add nearly no to none new content at all, as Anet says it by themself, that FP’s are no Content Patches.

When you saw that manifesto played GW2 now for 2 years and would look this trailer video two years again today, one must believe, as if those devs in the video must have been drunk, that nothing of what they are talking is anyhow findable in the game at all, that this trailer is nothing but a reallly really bad PR joke and nothing more and nothing less. and the latest featue pack changes set up the crown of trolls on top of all of this basically.
See my Colin reference sentence for this and compare it with how the game plays like now in the low level zones – its exactly what the devs claim to have wanted to completely avoid this game to become and see, what we have got for the past 2 years now!!
Somewhen its enough and you need to do some frank talking with the developers to finally bring them hopefully out of their dream bubbles, if you want as a player community to reach something in a respectful kind of way, that this game gets better and not from patch to patch worser and worser and more counterproductive to their own manifesto.

It all started with the traits – good intentions, but bad execution.
Why? Because ANet hasn’t talked at all with us about how they plan to improve this game mechanic at all – they just did what they wanted or how they have interpretated some player wishes and mixed it up with their own concepts and added a difficulty to it, that it screwd over the whole character progression mechanics and made leveling alts a tons time unfriendlie. They cheap solution for this was to turn the character progression into a cheap money sink, if you wanted to bypass the character progression grind they’ve created with their changes they thought that the majority of the community wants them because they missinterpretated some wishes of like 2-3 very vocal people here in the forums about changing traits into something like the elite skill signets of GW1 hunt for skills-feeling as the overall wish of the whole community and then never ever talked a single word about it anymore but worked on it secretly in the background and confronted us with it a few days before it got implemented, without giving us a chance to say NO to it and even if we did, it would have gotten ignored and implemented anyways, because otherwise all their work would have been just a waste of time that could have been used elsewhere alot better …
So through ignoring complaints and implementign hated stuff anyways you don’t come into the need of having to explain yourself, because then all they need to do is just saying:

“why do you hate it now, you just wished for this xx months ago”
The problem is, Anet implemented in the last time very oftenly things, people wished for, but not exactly so how we really wished for how those thigns should work in the game, but instead slightly to completely different.
Remember the multi color commander peep storm just for this, that was just another case of this mentioned problem.

The game has collected over the past 2 years so many cheese holes that need to be fixed, that they can’t be done all just through patches and feature packs alone.
GW2 needs finally real new content thats really expansion worthy and not just a huge collection of smaller to little/medium band aids for some already existing game mechanics, which wouldn’t all be needed at all, if Anet would have released the game 2012 properly with all this stuff already being inside of the game, like those changed low level zone changes, all of the ascended stuff, precursor craftign/job level 500 for all craftign jobs ect. pp, all the still missing activities in the game and and and … the list goes on if you do your research for sure, that there’s more.

You say it in your signature self:
Bring this game back to it’s prelaunch roots

Do you really honestly believe, that this can be done through biweekly patches and more features packs of the sort of like FP2 ?

Please, don’t make me laugh. Theres alot more work needed behind all of this to bring this game back onto its right path.

Sure, a rollback of the game would be a simple cheap solution, that would make quickly all people happy, which are disappointed by the current FP2, but a rollback would also remove all other other thing among them being also useful and positive changes, like the trading post redesign and a simple rollback doesn’t solve the overall whole problem of the completee discontinued bad designed personal story system, which is still until today not replayable unlike the living story, which still has this horrible borign unspectacular zhaitan battle that every little mouse fart feels more entertaining, than going through this last PS group instance that you get forced upon, instead of having one epic final solo personal story where you fight off zhaitan with all of the help of your friends and allies that you made over the course of your personal story through all the decisions you made in the past and that each of those deciouns would have uniquely different effects of the outcome of how you battle against zhaitan what woudl be the true essence of having a dynamic personal story that reacts on every signle decision you make to create for you many different outcomes of how your PS can progress on later or how it will end somehow uniquely at a certain point where you have to do a major battle, like against Zhaitan.

Some made things simply can’t be reverted back and ignored, as if just nothing happend.
There’s then still tons of other problems that need to be adressed and cared about in order to bring this game back onto the right path, where character progression over the course of your personal/living story won’t feel like a chore lettign you hit one grind wall after another that you have to surpass first to unlock some crap first, just because of the devs thing, otherwise we so stupid players would be otherwise overwhelmed by the complexitiy of this so really hard to understand and impossible to master game that GW2 was really from begin on /sarcasm, that anet felt the need even to remove ridiculous things out of the game, like havign to feed cows and let us entertain them now through dances – see your own signature… which just literally make me cringe about what Anet must be thinking of their own playerbase for what they design this game at all …. as said we are no braindead babies anymore, were are young teenagers to grown up mature players and seeing that Anet dumbs this game down to idiot niveau for everone due to some individualists with an IQ of a been complaining about it, that they are too imcompetent how to feed a god stupid digital COW, then please. god let it rain BRAINs !!
