Part 1:
After getting the first insight of what Anet has done all by pushing basically the game down to idiot niveau, I was for once at the moment the first time really thinking about it, that Anet succesfully brought the game to the point, where it seriously needs a rebirth, just like Square Enix falled down flat with Final Fantasy 14’s first release onto their faces, because they so incredibly failed with that game that it quickly got labeled as their biggest flop made ever, until they just stood up and said to themself – not with us, we can deliver something better, our customers can expect and deserve something better from us – a product thats worth it to be called a Final Fantasy and see, what they have done like a year later out of it and how massively they changed that game to the good of it compared to how that game was like, when it started…
I come to the point, that Anet would do a best out of it, if they would really reconsider maybe to do something limilar, like SE did with FF14 and bring out under the development of finally a real big expansion basicaly the re-release of the whole game under a complete new face.
Because this game already feels like a bad cheese full of design holes, when you think about all the content that is missing, that should have been in the game from begin on, but didn’t got implemented due to ANet being pressured by NCSoft to rush this game out quickly by the dead line of 2012 until even today 2 years later.
Then all the content that caused stress in the community, that got implemented later, which would have been completely avoidable, if this content would have been in the game from begin on (Ascended Equipment)
And now this way too late implemented forced upon wannabe tutorial that feels more like an insulting punishment, rather than a rewarding an fun addition to the game, especially for veterans that want to make alt characters and have no options to avoid this garbage.
The game is content wise, mechanically wise and concept wise still after those 2 years so unchanged to be easily able to come up even with a 2 year old game successfully with a rebirth of the game and use this as a way to polish and overhaul the game everywhere where its needed in 1 mighty pull to bring back this game finally onto its right path in one go, rather than to butcher it to death now with Feature Packs like this which ruin only the whole game experience for the western audience of your players, because you felt, you have to give all of us the same eastern niveauless treatment of braindead wannabe turorials.
It was exactly the right thing for SE what they did with FF14, so i think its now the right time for ANet to do basically the same with GW2.
After this Feature Pack, I have the strong feeling, we are in a dire need to rethink about it, what real Character Progression means, what the key factors are to it why so many players of RPG’s of any kind love this mechanism so much and how you get into a Game like GW2 a good Character Progression, without that it feels for your players boring, full of grind, locked behind countless time gates, that you think you just get punished to the point, that the game absolutely feels like being no fun at all anymore. or turning into a moneygrabber game, where you just progress only, if you are willing to lose your last cent and your soul to a gem store – good is only, that GW2 hasn’t reached becoming this ultra niveauless so far yet.
We get just illusioned that the game is now more rewarding on your path of progression by letting you unlock things, which are for every playing person of this game as normal as tons of other more complex and very detailed games with that they have also no problems at all to understand and master them through simple trial and error methods, without that all this stuff has to be locked for us first to come up with that stuff then later as pseudo rewards for character progression >.>
