There’s an event in Gendarran Fields where you have to escort a bunch of kids on a treasure hunt and it’s clearly a Goonies reference. They even befriend an Ettin called Slug (reference to Sloth from the movie) along the way.

In Harathi Hinterlands, you can find a small cave with bandit ghosts in them. If you fight your way in, you eventually find a book which describes what happened to the bandits. It ends, very fitting: “..they’re coming!”

Dont know if listed, but… SE story final boss death is a terminator 2 tribute.

What can be done of the “triforge” pendant?

Anyone has found any reference to any final fantasy?

I loved the “caen X” reference of witcher games lol

The entire game is a reference … Guild Wars. This doesnt remind you of anything? Honestly, these connections are unavoidable given the limitations of our language.

There’s a gravestone located in the graveyard just east of the entrance to Divinity’s Reach in the Human starting area…

Kah Meena
“His will be a sword
that pierces the Mists”

And I just nerded everywhere.

Think I might watch that now tonight while WubvWubbing

Well, there’s a few weapon names that reference weapons and things in RL mythology i.e. Bifrost, Mjolnir, Naegling, Caladbolg

On one escort quest in Orr, one of the NPC’s say “Work on supply they said. It’ll be fun they said.”

I think this is in Metrica Province. Two Asuran kids are reviewing the types of Hyleks. Red are “meanies”, yellows are sometimes nice and green and blue ones are fine. Something along those lines.

Reference to mob behaviors in GW2. Red will aggro, yellow are neutral, etc.

In the Charr story quest “Down the Hatch”, you and Tybalt disguise as pirates to sneak through a pirate camp to rescue Demmi Beetlestone, the daughter of Minster Caudecus, who is being held captive. When you rescue her, she says, “Aren’t you a little sober to be a pirate?”

I can’t help but think that’s a reference to the scene from Star Wars where Luke and Han are disguised as Storm Troopers on the Death Star, and when they rescue Leia, she says, “Aren’t you a little short for a Storm Trooper?”.

In addition, after rescuing her, she helps you fight. Also makes me think of Leia taking the gun from Han and shooting the crap out of the Storm Troopers in the hallway.

Right after you wake up as a sylvari there’s a “one does not simply” line. I forget what it is specifacially but it has to do with dragon fighting

The line is, “One does not simply awaken and rush off to face a dragon!”
This line made me laugh on my first sylvari.

Timberline Falls – the jumping puzzle achievement is called “Only Zuhl”, a reference and quote from Ghostbusters.

Achievement “Ghost Buster” is a reference to Ghostbusters

Achievement “Sons of Savnir’s Bane” – the mouseover description is a reference to a line in the movie Starship Troopers. Replace “ice dragon cultist” with ‘bug’.

Achievement “Zahitan’s Bane” – reminds me of the famous line from Jaws, “going to need a bigger boat”. Don’t know if this was on-purpose or not.

Some of the great swords are clearly Final Fantasy inspired in their skins

Caledon Forest is based on the Roman name for Scotland (Caledonia) if my rubbish history recalls correctly. I have yet to see any caber tossing, kilt wearing warrior zerker NPCs in my travels there though (forgive the stereotype!)
