I actually like the outfit. It makes my Thief feel especially meaty. And yes, my Warrior wears a frilly dress.

So suck on that, conventional fantasy standards and stereotypes!

I would fully accept this fact if they allowed you to transmute armor from any class weight. Lore can suck it, and clipping can suck it too because a lot of armor in the same weight class already clips.

Yeah I agree. There is so much clipping on most of the armor sets for that to be invalid really.

Still waiting aswell, figured I’ve been very critical about Anet recently so might be my punishment. Not concerned much since I can’t wear a top/ringmaster hat with it, which is a staple for all my characters.

I always wondered why the elite guards of emperors, kings and nmobles in general do such a bad job in GW when protecting their guy or girl. But with a basically heavy obscuring helmet, things have gotten clearer for me. How to protect your guy or girl when you have to fear tripping over something when you do battle?^^

I actually like the Royal Guard Outfit. Makes my Mesmer look quite tough. However… I don’t like that the visor is flipped up on the helmet. I think it would look much better on characters if it was flipped down, covering the eyes. Cooler even. It would look more like the Barbaric helmet visor on females models.

The Shining Blade can be a bit of a secretive lot at times, so the visor down would also fit them nicely.

I haven’t received mine yet, so I suspect sending out all the mails is a process that is ongoing and will take some time to complete.

As for changing the visor, I doubt they will. Aside from the labor needed to do it, most players would probably prefer to keep their characters’ faces visible.

Otherwise, given the non-customizable nature of outfits, everyone wearing them with the helmets enabled would look like different-colored clones.

My brother has received his, and I’ve been playing this game longer than he has, so it makes no sense why I would’t receive mine. I did though delete 2 characters when I logged in but I don’t think that would have affected it.

The face being visible can be accomplished by taking the thing off. I would think that most players that enjoy seeing their face, probably also enjoy seeing their hair as well.

They send the outfits in batches. Some people get them now, some tomorrow, etc. I don’t know if there’s any specific pattern to it, though.

I never wear helmets, for some of my toons I spent a couple hours tweaking the face to look just right, why then cover it with a tin can? :P

This outfit felt cyberpunk-ish to me (dunno, maybe because of the illuminated parts). It’s like a better version of the aetherblade armor skins, or what the aetherblade armor should have been. Yeah the aetherblade armor lacked the lights, denoting power of some sort. And to think there’s the word “aether” in aetherblade armor.

i better get this god kitten thing considering i payed 40$ for this kitten. $40 armor whooped dee frickin do.

I’ve got mine. Just rolled a warrior.used a level 30 scroll and did the game intro dropping banners. And wasting NPC’s.

(seriously though, i get the concept of being a “heavyweight” defender of the GW2-crown, but one can dream right?)
I main a mesmer, it looks completely foolish to wear it on a light character.
it would have been nice to have a light or medium option for a change as wel.
(Maybe the next could be a light or a medium? pretty please?)

I have not received my Guard outfit. I pre-ordered Guild Wars 2 in 2012 and played during several of th betas. I have had an account since pre-weekend.

Could someone please rectify this for me?

Your a royal guard. It’s meant to look intimidating. If guards walked around in frilly shirts they would get wasted quick smart. Watch any fantasy show or read a fantasy book, all royal guards wear heavy armor.

Even so, they’ll have differentiation between casters & heavy-duty front liners. but again i get the concept, i’m just asking that they switch up next time and give something to other weight classes. I mean i haven’t seen a lot medium costumes …

Hmm, purchased copy, beta and early release and I didn’t get it. Is there a pic somewhere? I paid 60.00 for the base game and 100.00 for HOT. I love outfits and would love to know when I and my guildies can look forward to getting it so I can let them know. Give me a date Anet. Others already have it.

They said, it take some time, and to wait, and there a lot of players to mass mail, so I say if you not got yours by next week and you assume you should, then send a support ticket, but for not it best to wait, and relax. No need to be stress, lol.

Maybe I got yours, at least I got 2 of them :P

Not stressed…kittened that it went f2p even if there are restrictions since we all paid good money for the game and continue to support the game through gem purchases. An outfit it the least of what they should do.

Of course, not like you have no restriction, and the 1,000+ hours and everything you earn in that time, over F2P who get to trial the game, and maybe buy it.

And do you know how much money I’ve spent in the store. Of course you don’t. I’ve been a faithful supporter of this game through my purchases. Day one of HOT going on sale, I bought the most expensive edition. F2P can hurt games and despite what they said about protecting the economy, people would be fools to think they won’t sell privileges in the store, if not soon, then eventually. Even SWTOR does.

I just got mine and it’s so pretty on Asura. Dulfy has pics, I’d show some too but it’s night right now in game so you wouldn’t see much anyway.

This one’s regardless of your characters’ or account’s age, as long as you bought the game, you’ll get it. Give it a few days
