And then, for the first time in years, she heard the voice of the Pale Tree, begging her to go no further. After a moment’s hesitation, Ceara pressed on, and her sanity was broken. It is not clear what exactly she saw in the tank, but it is clear that when she looked across the open threshold in her mind, something looked back.

How did she know what Caithe did to Wynne? Why didn’t she tell anyone about modremoth though, if she already knew?

According to LS, everyone have some kind of certain Lock on their minds.
Ceara always was hearing voices – mordremoth’s voices.
With Eternal Alchemy the lock on her mind has been lifted and Mordremoth took some kind of control over her.
Can even say, that Scarlet Briar was Mordremoth’s Champion of some kind.
